Pics: Maruti Ignis hybrid AT spied in India

21 posts in this topic

Maruti had showcased the new Ignis at the Auto Expo in Feb this year. With test mules being spotted, its clear that the launch will happen soon. Came across these pics of the Ignis AT and whats more it has a hybrid badge on the boot. The source says that this car is in India and if this variant does make it to our showrooms, the hybrid price tag could giver it a lower price tag. While it looks good on the exterior, the interior does seem a little cheap. The red and beigw combo feels a little gaudy. What do you think? Check out the pics

Looks like another Verito Vibe in the making , of the little that I could see.

Dont know why manufacturers put in more effort in the Headlights and Tail lights, to make the car an instant hit and stand out in the crowd.

Looks like too many borrowed elements make up this car , it owns nothing.

So the new Ignis has been showcased at a motorshow in South America. I like this paint shade and interior. Looks like a perfect addition to the Nexa line-up in India. Bring it on Maruti!

Good effort but can't they stop carrying same engine in all the boxes!! Unique look with big eyes bt reminds of uno at the tail part. As Indian public showing interest in it there is surety to succeed of this car bt chances of being cheated is there!! #goodluckms^_^

The front end looks very much like a beefed up Celerio and the tail lamp resembles very much to the Nissan Terrano.

Lets see what Maruti has to offer under the hood and will it be another game changer for Maruti or not..!

Teaser shot on Ignis sub-section from Nexa page shows this car with DRLs & Projector headlamps.

Expect high level of equipment & premium features which will not only elevate it among in-family Maruti Suzuki cars but from other rivals too.

Very eagerly awaited.

Somehow remotely, I can expect its competition with upcoming Honda WR-V too.

Ignis brochure has been leaked ahead of its official launch later this month.

Key Takeaways

Maruti will be offering two engine options with the Ignis - a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel. An AMT unit will also be offered with the petrol as well as diesel engines, though it will only be available with the mid-level Delta and Zeta variants.

Following are other major takeaways from the leaked brochure:
• LED projector headlamps & DRLs will be available only on the top-end Alpha trim
• Zeta and Alpha variants will come with alloy wheels. Delta trim will get full wheel covers
• The touchscreen Smart Play infotainment system will be available with the Alpha variants, while Delta and Zeta trims will come with a 2 DIN audio system
• Delta, Zeta and Alpha trim levels will also get USB and Bluetooth connectivity and also steering mounted audio controls
• Automatic climate control will be offered only with the Alpha trim

Did anyone noticed about the Power and torque figures of Ignis in its specifications? I am sure everyone is busy in features page. It is very bad that Ignis is launching with an underpowered engine. Just 61 Bhp for a 1.2 L 4 cyl petrol engine!!! This is very disgusting. Swift has same engine producing a marginally higher power at 85 Bhp. What does it shows? These pics are correct as Specifications and features are official in Nexa's page.

If you read closely, 1.2 L petrol engine says 61 kw which translates to 81+ hp.

Maruti enchance their output..a minimum of a 100-105 bhp should be the output of a car that cost about 7-9 lakh. Especially since Maruti claim nexa to be their premium brand.
