Renderings: Some cool looking concepts based on the Renault Kwid

8 posts in this topic

Nice job. Kwid looks awsome especially in 2nd and 4th as well as last image.

A small change in alloy , tire size and body graphics make the entire car look different from what it actually looks. Kwid has an aura of premium look of Polo and doesn't look cheap like Alto K10 or Eon. Even the Datsun RediGo doesn't have that particular premium feel in exterior design.

Remember Renault unveiling this Kwid Climber concept at last year's Auto Expo... Would be pretty cool to see this as a production model, don't you think?

Very cool renderings and also eagerly awaiting the Climber version.  Looks simply awesome, brings back the "k(w)id" in us.:P  The Renault Kwid is an inspiring success story, how a low-volume manufacturer can shake-up the market so well.  When the formula is right, it just clicks, and kudos to Renault for understanding the pulse of the market, what we really want. Heavy weight Maruti is also taking it seriously, as evident from their latest concept small cross over.  Ya, right, its high time they ditched their hand drawings they call designs, as can be seen from the Alto 800 and the like.  The Kwid has taught them a good lesson.

Renault has revealed the production-spec Renault Kwid for Latin American markets ahead of its debut at the 2017 Buenos Aires Motor Show tomorrow. The Renault Kwid will go up for pre-order in Brazil tomorrow, with deliveries are scheduled to commence in August.

High-resolution images with more details are still awaited, but from the images available now, it looks like the Renault Kwid for Latin America has some minor differences to the Indian-spec version on the outside. The fender cladding (front) don’t have turn indicators, the ORVMs look slightly different in shape, the door moulding has a different design, comes with 14 inch gun metal alloy wheels, the door handles are body-coloured and it has a rear wiper+defogger. Inside, the central HVAC vents have multiple horizontal grille bars, the window controls are below the touchscreen and it has analogue instrument dials along with a multi-info display.

The Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid will get the 1.0-litre flex-fuel engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or the Easy-R automated manual transmission. The flex-fuel engine produces 79 cv (79 hp) and 10.2 kgfm (100.03 Nm) of torque (petrol)/82 cv (82 hp) and 10.5 kgfm (102.97 Nm) of torque (ethanol).

The Brazil-made Renault Kwid consists of 40% India-made parts, but is much safer than the Indian-spec version. It was reported in April that the former will undergo chassis strengthening and come equipped with more safety equipment. While the Indian-spec Renault Kwid 1.0 SCe weighs 699 kg, the Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid tips the scales at 840 kg (+141 kg). The latter also gets dual-front and side airbags as standard, as well as traction control and stability control in the AMT model.

Prices of the Brazilian-spec Kwid are expected to start from BRL 29,990 (INR 5,90,175.54), which is much higher than the entry-price of the Kwid 1L version in India (INR 3,54,312, ex-showroom).

This Kwid Extreme concept is currently on display at the Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show. It gets a new front bumper with grey inserts and red highlights + a splitter and sharp bumper extensions. The bumper gets faux air intakes. Could it point to a future variant maybe?
