advice in buying tyre pressure gauge

6 posts in this topic

After a recent trip to Yercaud i realized the inefficiency of our petrol bunks while checking the air pressure in my tyres.

In fact i even doubt whether they know what 'calibration' is all about.

I always felt that my tyres were under inflated but didnt have any way to check..

On this purview I've decided to buy a gauge myself.

I live in bangalore and would like to know what are the considerations i need to take before buying one.

Where can i buy this? I prefer a digital gauge if possible and should be very portable.

The most common are stick or dial types. They are usually reliable, but you should change or at least check every two years.

can you please tell me where i can buy them in bangalore?

Any cycle shop will do?

How do i know if its calibrated correctly?

Can I buy it online? If so any sites you know of?

.............

Bengaluru residents please advise him. I think any decent accessory shop will have them or will be able to advise. You can get Yenkay or a 'chinese import'. They are mostly Ok when you get them. MOD

I have foot pump with analog tire pressure gauge, but it never gave me correct reading,

So after searching, I decided to buy digital one, and I bought Tekton 5941 Digital 100 PSI Tire Gauge from amazon Global,

See my Unpacking and Testing video of Tekton 5941 Digital 100 PSI Tire Gauge

After use my review for Tekton 5941 Digital 100 PSI Tire Gauge is

Pros:

+ 0-100PSI

+ Reads in PSI, BAR & Kpa

+ Ergonomic Grip

+ Smooth, Soft Frosted Silicone Housing

+ Easy to Read and Use

Cons:

- It gave me incorrect and inconsistency reading,

So I have returned “Tekton 5941 Digital 100 PSI Tire Gauge” and bought new

Michelin MN-4203 Digital Tyre Gauge,

I am impressed with Michelin MN-4203 Digital Tyre Gauge due to its accuracy, my review for it is

Pros:

+ Accuracy in measurement

+ Consistency in measurement

+ Large digital display

+ Reads in PSI, BAR, Kpa and Kg/cm2

+ Tread depth gauge-reads in mm/inch

+ Smooth, Soft Frosted Silicone Housing

+ Easy to Read and Use

+ Light and handy

Cons:

- No back-light,so difficult to use in night

- Auto off timing is less

- Valve stem is not long so difficult for wheels having wheel cover

Personally I recommend this product due to its high accuracy and consistency

@MrNams Michelin is a good brand. I am using coido analogue pressure gauge, its pressure holding knob is leaking but working satisfactorily. The tyre compressor I am using is good one,"Bushranger".
