  1. EGR clean of swift VDI

If the EGR valve itself fails you may have permanent problem of lack of power. The EGR valve is an assembly comprising of EGR Valve (Electric solenoid) along with EGR cooler & diffuser unit. The EGR Solenoid Valve only opens & closes to allow the exhaust gases to flow back into engine. via EGR cooler & diffuser EGR cooler cools the exhaut gases to be sent back to engine EGR diffuser does the mixing of exhaust gases & the inlet air & in the inlet manifold. Generally the clogging occurs in the EGR diffuser & at the inlet manifold & not in EGR valve & cooler. since the EGR diffuser is in the inlet manifold, slight mist of oil (blow by gases) from intake mixes with the recirculated exhaust Gases (soot in this case) at the diffuser & causes sludging & blockage of inlet manifold. if the clogging occurs severly, you may experience lack of power on sudden acceleration & black smoke. it may require cleaning at 40,000 kms. to avoid frequent clogging is to avoid excess filling of engine oil. and maintain the proper quantity of engine oil ( excess engine oil may cause excess blow by gases & cause frequent clogging of inlet manifold & diffuser) if you do not experience such phenomenon - not suggested to clean EGR diffuser. while precaution must be taken during removing & refitment of the diffuser, if improperly installed , it may cause air leak & pose more troubles.- black smoke, lack of power etc.... an expert workshop person may able to do this job efficiently. it is suggested clean EGR diffuser & intake manifold. avoid removal of EGR assembly as this is a very lengthy job.
  2. engine oil for swift vdi

The originally approved Engine oil for Swift 1.3 DDiS was Mobil Delvac 15 W 40 consistently gives better engine performance, low noise etc. later other brands were approved. however it is always suggested to stick to the one branded oil only.
  3. Dzire Diesel problem

would be better to know the following first what is the mileage clocked in speedo what is the vehicle speed during deceleration. If the engine rpm falls below 1750, during deceleration, it may take some time to respond because of turbo lag. better to have a comparison with new vehicle than doing unnecessary repairs, adjustements. may not be related to fuel
  4. Can I convert a FGT car to VGT car

Physically possible to fit a VGT on existing FGT. if you drive both FGT & VGT equipped Fiat cars there is only marginal power & performance increase. however the modification job is costly. better to trade off. Requires following to be carried forward from VGT vehicle. 1. Vaccum plumbing, wiring for VGT control vaccum tank & solenoid 2. Injectors - 6 hole injectors vs 5 hole injectors 3. ECU 4. Pistons 5. Intake manifold (bigger in size) 6. Engine wiring harness
  5. Type of Diesel for my Swift VDI.

Please note that no manufacturer suggests the use of Premium diesel. There were many instances of black smoke & injector failures in CRDi systems due to additive content (Swift as well as Fiat). and were not covered under warranty. Read the owners manual carefully. Since most manufacturers CR supplier & systems are same, the usage of premium fuels may deteriorate fuel system over a period of time. Having used a Swift VDi with normal diesel, i have gained the best performance & economy. understand that any fuel additive which removes hard carbon from engine are corrosive in nature and will definitely cause wear & tear in fuel system componets & engine as well. My advice to stick to normal diesel of known good quality over premium fuels. The best you can do to a Diesel engine is 1. Good quality normal diesel 2. Clean air Filter 3. Periodic Engine oil Change (Mobil Delvac) 4. Fuel Filter replacement as per schedule............ replied from a Tech Support Manager from a leading auto manufacturer.
