  1. New top-spec variant for the Innova gets subtle styling tweaks; Likely to come with petrol and diesel engine options. Toyota is readying a new top-spec trim for the Innova, likely to be called as the Innova Venturer. A first set of leaked images of this model have surfaced in Indonesia. It is yet to be seen whether the India-spec Innova Crysta will get this variant. As seen from the leaked images, the Innova Venturer gets special red exterior paint shade. It also gets a distinctive body cladding with contrast black shade. There are more chrome bits on the exterior, especially around the fog lamps upfront and on the chin and also below the rear bumper. It also gets unique dark grey alloy wheels with different design than the standard trims. On the inside, the Innova Venturer will get dual tone seats and additional equipment adding to already a long list of standard features on the MPV. The Innova Venturer is likely to come to Indonesia first, followed by other markets subsequently. Source
  2. Toyotas new crossover the CH-R has been spotted testing on roads for the first time. In the international market it will go up against the Nissan Juke. Its quite funky in terms of styling and looks like a promising model. Maybe Toyots should launch this in India considering how popular crossovers are in our country. Here are the pics Source

  5. Starting this thread to post pics of 6x6 SUVs and custom made 6x6 vehicles from around the world. There are quite a few out there If the Mercedes AMG 6x6 wasnt enough check this out. A 6x6 Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler has been cut behind the C-pillar and added a pickup bed, on which they put a hardtop. The engine is the Jeep 3.6 liter V6 with an added RIPP supercharger, but the output of the engine is unknown. Source
  6. Hey guys Just came across images of what could be a concept for the next Ford Everest. The Everest is of course sold as the Endeavour in India. From the pictures it appears that it has got a more butchy stance. Unlike the boxy shape of our current Endeavour, this one seems to have some rounded edges for sure. I like the look of that front grille. The rear looks similar to the Toyota Fortuner. Looks like worthy replacement for the now aging Endy in our country. Source: Indianautosblog
  7. Came across these images on the net. Computer generated images of what the next Honda Brio can looked like. These are only an artists impression. Looks nicer and bigger than the current one Source
  8. Rendering: Ford Ecosport facelift

Here is a compter generated rendering of the Ford EcoSport facelift, which according to a report, will be ready for a market launch in the first half of 2016. The rendering imagines the compact SUV to borrow its front fascia from the new Ford Edge, with a trapezoidal grille, slim headlight clusters and L-shaped foglight enclosures. I hope they still keep the spare tyre on the tailgate Source
  9. Here are some leaked pics of the Toyota Landcruiser facelift. Though its not clear if these are real pictures, these could be renderings. According to the circulating render, the huge grille with a huge chrome bar at the middle really attracts attention. The headlamp came with 2 projectors lens, LED DRL, and new square shape foglamp. Surely if the actual looks like this, it is one of the most weird looking Land Cruiser we ever see, due to the grille and moustache accent. At the interior, we could see a new center console with a huge monitor display. The amount of buttons in the center area shows how many features it will have. The instrument panel also new, including a new rear entertainment system in form of monitor to entertain rear passengers. Source

The car will be powered by a twin tubo V8 engine and will be built at the company’s factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese in Italy. Here are some super renderings of the production version of the Urus. The cameras seen on the concept have been replaced by actual mirrors and the 24 inch alloy wheels have also been downsized to more saner levels. Pirelli Scorpion Verde tyres are also featured. The buttons on the concept have also been replaced by conventional door handles. Other additions include orange side markers for U.S spec cars and a ski box mounted on the roof. As is always with Lamborghini, special and limited edition versions of the Urus are also expected later in its production life. The Lamborghini Urus will go head on against the Bentley Bentayga SUV. 17. Maruti had showcased the new Ignis at the Auto Expo in Feb this year. With test mules being spotted, its clear that the launch will happen soon. Came across these pics of the Ignis AT and whats more it has a hybrid badge on the boot. The source says that this car is in India and if this variant does make it to our showrooms, the hybrid price tag could giver it a lower price tag. While it looks good on the exterior, the interior does seem a little cheap. The red and beigw combo feels a little gaudy. What do you think? Check out the pics Source

  20. The Honda Avancier SUV has been spotted testing on China roads. It is a full size SUV but only meant for the Chinese market. It first was shown at the Beijing Auto Show in April and will be launched shortly. The Avancier is production version of the Honda D concept. It has a 2.0 litre turbo engine with a 9 speed automatic gearbox. Considering India's love for big SUVs, shouldnt Honda think of bringing this to India with a good diesel engine? Looks big and spacious too. What do you think? Source
  21. Thought of starting this thread to share pics of custom made bikes from the globe. First up is our very own Royal Enfield worked on to be made into a Beach Bobber Motovida a Canada based custom motorcycle builder has made this based on a RE 500 This custom bike comes with a single seat and there are no tail lamps. The blue paint on the tank looks classy and the huge RE logo is very prominent. There are also custom stitched saddle bags on either side of the bike Here are some pics: More pics here
  22. The Skoda Kodiaq is one the most awaited SUVs in India. Expected to launch mid next year on our shores. Here is a rendering of a Kodiaq coupe by digital artist Theophilus Chin. What do you think? Source
  23. Isuzu is introducing the next gen MU 7 SUV in Thailand which is called the MU-X. The MU-X is a rebadged and slightly redesigned Chevrolet Trailblazer. It will be sold with 2 diesel engine options and to me looks quite an alternative to the Fortuner dual front, front-side and side curtain airbags, traction control with ESP, ABS and air conditioning. High-end variants would offer satellite navigation, foglamps and 17-inch wheels. The MU-X will launch in five colors. Do you think Isuzu should launch this in India? It could sell well for all you know Source: Indianautosblog
  24. It is a known fact that US President Obama's Limousine is a very special car unlike any other. It travels with him wherever he goes and it will definitely be seen when he comes to India for Republic Day celebrations. Here is a low down on what this machine is like: It is said to be a Cadillac but it hardly is. Apparently its called 'The Beast' Unlike any presidential state car before it, The Beast shares little in common with a standard production car. Its chassis, diesel engine and transmission are based on those used in the Chevrolet Kodiak, a rugged commercial vehicle used as everything from a dump truck to a U-Haul truck. Some standard trim pieces, like headlamps from an Escalade and tail lights from the now-discontinued STS keep it looking vaguely Cadillac-like. It has its own airplane. The Secret Service makes use of a C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft to haul The Beast, a second limo and a heavily armored Chevrolet Suburban communications vehicle, any time the President is traveling. The Suburban is nicknamed Roadrunner and it is said to be a rolling communications office directly linked to a military satellite - hence the SATCOM dome festooned to its roof. Calling it armored is an understatement. There is probably not a better-armored vehicle with windows on the planet than The Beast. Its armor plating is said to be 8 inches thick and its doors weigh as much as those on a Boeing 757 aircraft. Five-inch thick bulletproof windows contain at least five layers to put a damper on any effort by subversives. And those gigantic, nearly bus-size Goodyear tires are Kevlar-reinforced run-flats capable of keeping The Beast on the road for quite some distance if needed. The interior is sealed off from the outside world to reduce risks of a chemical attack, while a special foam surrounds the fuel tank to insulate it in the event of an impact. It's exceedingly well-equipped. Pop open The Beast's trunk and it is said that you'll find everything from firefighting equipment and oxygen tanks to a cache of the president's blood type. There are tear gas canisters, shotguns and, supposedly, grenade launchers, integrated into The Beast. The Secret Service has learned a lot since President John F. Kennedy's open-top Lincoln Continental was fired upon on Elm Street in Dallas. It holds seven passengers. At the very least, The Beast has three passengers aboard - the driver, the president's lead Secret Service protective agent in the front passenger seat and, of course, the president himself. However, four additional seats in the back are available - three rearward facing spots on a bench and one spot next to the president for a guest. A folding desk separates the president from his guest's spot. Somewhat surprisingly, the president's bench is covered in a dark blue cloth rather than leather (although plenty of hide is on board). Shoulder belts that retract toward the center of the bench and buckle into the outboard corners - the reverse of a normal rear seat - are included. The Beast is not alone. The Secret Service actually has a few Beast-like vehicles. Although it's not known whether they're all functionally identical, some look more like a Cadillac DTS than The Beast. The other limousines are used for high-ranking foreign officials and VIP guests when they're in Washington, D.C. It isn't known why the Secret Service rotates between presidential vehicles, however. In addition, the President sometimes travels in a heavily-armored Chevrolet Suburban or a modified Prevost bus known as Ground Force One rather than The Beast. 7. It runs on diesel. The Beast is believed to use a Duramax diesel engine closely related to that featured under the hood of Chevrolet and GMC's full-size heavy duty pickup trucks. Why diesel? Aside from the durability associated with diesel engines, the fuel has a low volatility that reduces the risk of it exploding - and it can be found everywhere in the world, unlike high quality unleaded fuel. Its pilot is a heck of a driver. Even though The Beast has more in common with a school bus than a sports car, its highly-trained drivers can execute tight J-turns and other police-style evasion techniques in the event of a situation gone south. The Secret Service drivers have undergone extensive training on a secluded site (believed to be a military base) with input from GM engineers and test drivers. Its specs will not impress you. Burdened with lugging a rumored 20,000 lbs. worth of Beast around, the diesel engine isn't a rocket. Hitting 60 mph from a complete stop takes about 15 seconds, which is more than just about any new car we can think of, and the big car's top speed is said to max out at around 100kph. In addition, all that weight makes it a guzzler, sipping fuel at a rate of 3.4 kmpl. Source and Source
  25. Thought it might be a good idea to have a thread on various taxis from aroumd the globe. Its interesting to see what cars are used. Here are some from my side First our very own desi Ambassador Columbia uses Daewoo Matiz' as cabs The old classic Beetle is used as a cab in Mexico This probably might be the most expensive taxi ride around. A Maybach taxi in Moscow The Ford Crown Victoria in NYC has been replaced by this, the Nissan NV200 (Evalia in India) Here are taxis used in France Shanghai China uses locally made VW cars as taxis Mercedes E Class taxis are seen ferrying passengers in Germany The Toyota Crown is the cab of choice in Tokyo Japan And this weird looking contraption with two seats is used as a cab in Cuba.
