freakyskull got a reaction from shubi in Mindblowing: Mahindra Concept SUV 'KOMODO' design study
This must be the most insane thing I have seen in a long time and I would never have imagined a Mahindra SUV took look like this. This concept has been named the KOMODO

The Komodo is the work of aspiring Indian designer and IED Torino graduate, Makrand Patil, which he completed in collaboration with Mahindra while at IED.
Here's what Patil has to say about the concept:
"What I present is an SUV built for the Indian Market. The user could be anyone from a young to a mid-age individual who is in his own business or could just be a son, a family guy to a sport enthusiast."
"The built of the car is big, strong, rugged and luxurious at the same time. Perfect for the Indian terrain. The vehicle can be used anywhere form silky smooth highways to steep gradients, big drops and deep water. Focusing more on its off-roading abilities, a true 4x4 vehicle that a whole family can enjoy."
"This SUV has been designed considering most of the brand attributes of Mahindra. The brand sets a benchmark of Capability, Authenticity in design and function. It specializes in Durability and Reliability for the Indian market having a justified evolution."
"My dream was to combine the authentic Mahindra DNA with its more evolved ones and make the Ultimate Mahindra. The Mahindra KOMODO."
What do you think? How much would you want to pay for such an SUV if it made it to production?

Came across these pictures of the pick up version of the Duster. This is a prototype and was spotted in Romania Renault could look at making this in India as a life style vehicle. The Tata Xenon has had some takers so do you think this work in India?
I think a double cab version would look really nice

Came across these shots of what is the extra long wheel base S Class.
The new generation of the S Class is set to receive a new longer version that will have a stretched wheelbase to provide even more room for rear passengers. The current S-Class LWB on sale today is 5246mm long while this XL version will be approximately 200mm longer and will keep the same 2+2 seating arrangement. The the third side window will be positioned after the rear doors, as opposed to the standard and LWB versions which have the third side window in the rear door section.

freakyskull got a reaction from KarfNuarmaday in US President Obama's Cadillac limousine in detail
Found this interesting article on the US Presidential limo :

It's called "The Beast," but it might surprise you to learn that President Barack Obama's massive Cadillac isn't really a Cadillac. And there's not one, but a dozen, in the highly classified motor pool, each costing more than $1 million. The cars travel with their own mechanic, an armed federal agent who carries a vast arsenal of electronic diagnostic devices and tools.
We've come a long way since JFK's opentop Lincoln. Until only recently, the Secret Service bought the presidential limousines off the lot, then modified them with super-secret aftermarket products and systems. All that changed when George W. Bush became president. The reason? The stock presidential limos kept breaking down. All the extras the agency added to each vehicle created excess stress and weight beyond the real operational limits of the original cars. As a result, the transmissions often failed, “and the brakes would last about two trips,” said one veteran agent. “The cars were just too heavy, and they were a terror to drive, and even harder to stop.”
So the Secret Service decided to design and then build the car from the ground up. “The car may say Cadillac,” explained one agent, “but very little in that car is Cadillac.” Indeed, it is built by an R&D arm of General Motors in Detroit. But “even the Cadillac emblems on the hood and trunk are supersized. The car is really a truck that looks like a limo. And it drives like one, too.”
-- The fuel tank is armor-plated and encased in special foam to protect it from rupture in case of collision-or small-arms fire. And, perhaps not surprisingly, there's an onboard Halon fire-suppression system.
-- What's in the trunk? Extra weapons, a separate oxygen supply under the president's seat and emergency medical equipment, including bottles of the president's blood type in case the ambulance (one always travels in the motorcade) gets cut off.
-- The Beast is heavy: The armor plating (on five newer models) is so thick and the doors so heavy that it's nearly physically impossible for the president to open them from inside.
-- The interior is cut off from the outside world and sealed (in case of chemical attack). There's an encrypted satellite phone inside and a special interactive video system so the president can conduct secure video conferencing with officials in the Situation Room, embassies abroad or the Pentagon.
-- The car features military-grade armor (steel, aluminum, titanium and ceramic), surrounded by removable fiberglass sheets on the doors and fenders.
-- The Beast has special locking mechanisms, and communications and fire-suppression systems. It rides on special Kevlar-reinforced Goodyear run-flats.
-- The Secret Service has been experimenting with special night-vision cameras and monitors (the camera is mounted inside the grille) to be used in a doomsday scenario if, say, the windshield was somehow compromised or views were obstructed.

freakyskull got a reaction from appasiura in Pics: 2014 Fiat Linea facelift testing in India
This car was caught testing near Pune . According to the source there were three test mules driving together. From the pictures you can make out that the front grille. It has two parallel running lines with the ‘Fiat’ logo sitting aperched. In the current Linea, the number plate is mounted down on the rear bumper. However, in the new Linea Fiat has set this provision higher up on the rear bonnet. If you see this mule, there doesn’t appear to be a provision of bumper mounted registration plate and the rear bonnet has some protrude.
Fiat is also going to offer the 1.6 Multijet Diesel as well. Will be interesting to see how soon the facelift Linea will hit the streets

Got these pictures from a reliable source that this could be the 2014 Suzuki Alto for the international market. Looking at the pictures it does seem that the new car gets a tall boy stance. The whole profile looks very i10 like now. This could be the next gen A Star for India Internationally it will get the 1.0-litre Kseries petrol motor same as the current car. India could get a downsized version of the 1.3 Multijet.
Atleast from the spy shots it looks better than the current A Star for sure

freakyskull got a reaction from Erascismastut in Scoop pic: 2014 Indica Vista
This is the first ever spyshot of the Indica Vista facelift and with the spyshot, Some details of the car including the changes are seen that the final product is expected to be like

The 2014 Vista will be a major refresh for Tata Motors in terms of the design direction the automaker will take in the coming years. From the unmistakable smiley face we're so used to on Tata cars, major refreshes from Tata Motors will henceforth feature much more sharper stylistic jobs with the smile giving way to an aggressive snout of sorts. The 2014 Indica Vista will derive inspiration from the Tata Manza Hybrid that was showcased at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo.
While the spyshot doesn't offer too many clues when it comes to the new design of the 2014 Vista Facelift, Here's what the 2014 Vista Facelift is expected to feature,
    Redesigned front grille
    New front bumper
New Headlamps with a more pronounced flaring
Turn indicators move back to the conventional position above the front wheel arches (Currently, the Vista has turn indicators positioned on the A-Pillar)
The Dashboard is carried over from the new (current) Indica Vista D90
Tail gate is a redesigned item with a prominent dimple
On the 2014 Indica Vista, the number plate will sits in the dimple, a-la-Figo's hatch lid
    New tail lamps
