  1. Read the news yesterday on ACI that Toyota is planning to launch the Camry Hybrids have never really found success in India. The Civic didnt sell when the price was high but as soon as the priced was dropped it was lapped up. The Prius didnt find any takers. I have hardly seen one or two around. And now this. Here is pic of the car testing in Bangalore. According to the source, the car was super silent and the badges were covered which gives it away that it is indeed an hybrid. Approx price mentioned in the ACI story was 36 lakhs. Do you think it will work? I dont thik hybrids have a future in India until the Govt. does something to give tax reliefs to these kind of cars. 2. Toyota is now in process of readying its next-generation Corolla. These are the spy shots from Autoblog. The pictures show that the new Corolla would mimic styling cues from the new Camry and also from the more upmarket Avalon Saloon. (Sold only in North America). We recently saw the new Camry for India and it looks like a Mini-Lexus, and now one can easily expect the next Corolla to follow suit. Story source: http://www.autoblog..../#photo-5233518
  3. Toyota is all set to launch the new Camry on August 24th. Not a very good time to launch a premium petrol sedan considering what the petrol prices have done to the auto industry in recent times. The good part however about the new Camry is that it will be assembled in India unlike the previous gen models which were CBUs. Hopefully that should help it launch it at a better price. Will Toyota succeed with the new Camry or will it just be a flop? What do you think should be a realistic price for the locally assembled Camry? Speaking of which Camry's are going for throw away prices in the used car market.
