  1. Read the news yesterday on ACI that Toyota is planning to launch the Camry Hybrids have never really found success in India. The Civic didnt sell when the price was high but as soon as the priced was dropped it was lapped up. The Prius didnt find any takers. I have hardly seen one or two around. And now this. Here is pic of the car testing in Bangalore. According to the source, the car was super silent and the badges were covered which gives it away that it is indeed an hybrid. Approx price mentioned in the ACI story was 36 lakhs. Do you think it will work? I dont thik hybrids have a future in India until the Govt. does something to give tax reliefs to these kind of cars. 2. Force Motors was always said to be working on an MPV and this one was spotted testing in disguise in Bangalore. It is based on the old Mercedes Vito van and not the Viano. It will use the same 2.2L Diesel engine as the Force One SUV (139 BHP, 321 Nm of Torque), albeit in a different state of tune. The company has already hinted that the 8 seater MPV will target the corporate travel and hospitality sector. The new MPV will likely target existing/new customers for the now dated Tempo Traveller, who are looking at a more upmarket offering. The new MPV is after all basically a cargo van, and unlikely to appeal to the private buyer. Source: Team BHP
  3. SPOTTED: Jaguar F-Type testing in India

Its here. The Jaguar F-Type has landed in India. This gorgeous looking white car was spotted at KBS Chowk in Chinchwad Pune. The rear badges and the badges on the alloy wheels were covered. The standard F-Type, if we can call it that, comes with a supercharged 3.0 V6 under the bonnet. It puts out 335bhp and does the sprint to 100kph in a claimed 5.3 seconds. The S model puts out a substantially higher 375bhp and there’s even a ‘mad hatter’ V8 S that puts out 488bhp. 0-100kph in the V8 S takes just 4.3 seconds. The F-Type will, however, come to India in two variants, the supercharged V6 S and a supercharged V8 S with prices expected to be in the range of Rs 1.3-1.5 crore. The F-Type is slated for a July 2013 launch Here are the pictures Pics Source: IndianAutosBlog

  6. Here are pictures of the new Mercedes GL (codename X166) being tested in India sent by a reader of Autocar India As seen from the pictures, the GL spotted is the GL 350 BlueTEC diesel version. The distinct front bumper and additional trim-bits on the exterior point it to be as an AMG sport version of the GL. The AMG Sport package consists of 21-inch alloy wheels, perforated 19 inch disc brakes, custom front and rare AMG bumpers, flared wheel-arch extensions and illuminated running boards. The GL 350 BlueTEC is powered by a 2987cc turbo-common rail diesel motor which is good for 255bhp and 63.2kgm of torque mated to a 7-speed G-Tronic automatic gearbox. Initially, all GL will be imported as completely built units. Like the smaller M-Class, Mercedes plans to assemble the GL in India from SKD kits imported from the USA by end of this year.
