  2. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) will be launching a low spec W4 variant of the XUV500 within the next few months. We all know that the XUV has been crippled with niggling issues and sales have dropped in recent times. Plus the Renaut Duster has made life difficult for the XUV and the soon to launch Ford Ecosport could dent the XUV further. I think this could be a good move since a low spec model with have less electronic gadgetry and a price similar to the Duster could to well to help the XUV climb up the sales charts again What do you think? 3. Tata Safari Storme launched

After ages of speculation, Tata Motors is finally launching the Safari Storme on the 17th of October 2012. The wait for the new Safari has been really long and competition has moved on. The Storme will have a task on its hands for sure. Renault has hit the jackpot with the Duster and Mahindra has achieved huge success with the XUV 500. Do you think the Storme will be able to fight these two rivals and make a mark for itself? Or is it a bit too late to join the party. Also what do you think should be the ideal pricing for the Storme. Opinions?

Industry body, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturer Association member companies implemented "Voluntary Code on Vehicle Recall" with effect from 1st July 2012 . This voluntary recall code is a reinforcement of their sustained commitment towards the consumers and to the society at large by ensuring that the vehicles continue will perform effectively during its operation. The Voluntary Code on Vehicle Recall will address potential issues that exist in a motor vehicle which do not meet the safety requirement due to manufacturing defect and the remedial actions taken in this regard. The vehicle shall be covered under safety recall for a period of seven years. The decision on Recall will take into account the degree of seriousness or severity of occurrence of any possible hazard involved. The reported vehicle will be rectified by the manufacturer through its dealers at no cost to the customer. It was shared that the recall penetration rate may be improved by the correct information of vehicle owners. (Source - www.zigwheels.com)
  5. So I recently got a XUV500. My driver complained about poor visibility with the stock lights on the highway, so dad decided to get HID light installed in the car. Problem - While the low-beam HID lights work fine, during the high-beam there is a shadow right in the middle of the light. The reason of the shadow is the daytime running lamps like found on Audi cars on the XUV500. At least this is what the shopkeeper told me. Due to this, visibility is affected heavily especially on highway. What I want to know is, whether the shopkeeper is right or not? The issue does seem genuine to me, but I am a noob in all this. The shopkeeper tells me he can install some all season light instead of this HID, in which the shadow issue will not exist since the light will be yellow in color. Any help from any Autocar forum member will be appreciated. If anyone here lives in Kolkata and can help me with this issue, I will greatly appreciate it. Don't wanna screw my XUV500 due to a shopkeeper. :\
