Pics: Next gen Audi A4 spied

Recommended Posts

The next generation of the Audi A4 (codenamed B9) has been spied for the first time, wearing a significant amount of camouflage. a heavily camouflaged prototype was spied while being loaded in a truck. It was an early prototype judging by the fact it had not one but two covers of camo to hide the design which is rumored to be more muscular and should bring improved aerodynamics, as well as LED-infused headlights and a distinctive rear spoiler. The vehicle is expected to be 4701mm long, 1862mm wide, 1417-1437mm tall and is rumored to shave off around 100 kg (220 lbs) so the lightest variant will tip the scales at around 1,330 kg (2,932 lbs). Inside it will reportedly offer an improved MMI infotainment system with a touchpad controller, along with a head-up display and an all-new rearview mirror with a built-in information display.

The Audi A4 (B9) is slated to reach showrooms sometime in 2015.

The classic lines of the signature Audi design is showing still, to maintain its understated status among the big three. Mercedes-Benz has moved on to a radical design theme from the boringly elegant to flashy in-your-face, may be Audi too wants to break out from its tight old-skin. But the very subtle styling of Audis make them that much popular, and they are certainly a hit with Indians. The current A4 is probably the best looking A4 so far, it would be interesting to see the new design out of wraps.

The front and rear looks a lot like the new Quattro, and probably this is the new design "language" in Audi for the the models to come. I particularly like the flowing fenders, which is a nice blend of retro and futuristic design. This will keep the Audi fans happy for sure.
