TOYOTA STOPS ALTIS PRODUCTION

Carmaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor has stopped production of its premier sedan Orolla Altis from this month as it gears up to roll out a new version in the next four or five months.

According to industry sources,the company will showcase the model with added features during the upcoming Auto Expo to be held in New Delhi next month.

1.4 diesel again -_- get the bloody 2.0 already ! They are killing this segment, with Civic out, except for skoda there is no serious diesel car in this segment.

GT86? are they going to launch this ??

:blink: 1.5L. Honda would never go overboard, remember City is operating in C segment, focus is on Economy, ease of drive. Competition has presence in the space for long but offers no direct competition to the City. Likes of Vento, Verna will sell on huge discounts now on.. Though City not best in the game but its the packaging & offering what the market wants that Honda understands better than any in the competing space.

City is 150 kgs, Honda 1.5 diesel motor that does duty on new honda city is lighter and produces similar torque and more power than the 1.4 that does the duty in Altis. Plus City costs 10.16 EX-showroom delhi vs 16.30 Ex-showroom for ALTIS. Toyota has got its calculations wrong. Altis is a nice car, i have petrol automatic at present, i really want a diesel which does not go breathless on highways.

There is some news brewing that New Corolla coming to showroom not before June. Before that, TOyota has launched cheaper automatic variants of the current car. Any info?
