Toyota Aygo compact city car pics leaked. Should this come to India?

Recommended Posts

Pics of Toyotas new compact car in joint venture with Peugeot and Citroen have been leakd online before its reveal at Geneva.

Toyota has given the new Aygo a larger, more prominent front grille with a large central badge. Thin DRL lights can be seen alongside more shapely headlight clusters. The front bumper of the new Aygo continues that look, with more diagonal lights seen alongside round fog lamps at the bottom. New side skirts run to the rear, where the Aygo gets large rear lights and an equally stylised rear bumper.

A range of three-cylinder engines, retained from today's line-up, is likely to power the Aygo. Toyota could follow Peugeot's lead and only offer the Aygo with petrol engines, as the french manufacturer says producing small-capacity EU6-compliant diesel engines is now too expensive.

This looks like nice city runabout. Should Toyota think of launching this in India? This could do well here

Here are the pics

WOW!!! This looks good!!

Its bold and funky sort of design (atleast the front) suits the car quiet well!!

I mean.. The previous version was an ugly little duckling!!

So yeah.. I agree!! It looks like a good city runabout!

And yes.. It could do well here, if priced right!!

Priced similar to the WagonR Stingray maybe?? A bit less than the Swift though!!

This car seems perfect for the Indian market and off late Toyota's models have started looking good as well. Toyota has kind of struggled with the Liva to finely balance cost-cutting and delivering an attractive product in the fiercely competitive Indian market. Hopefully they have learned their lessons and would try to include this model in their line-up, which would certainly attract more people to their showrooms. But Toyota is busy making money in the other global markets, and they really haven't paid much attention to the Indian market so far!

That's a lovely car. And as Indian traffic scenario keeps getting worse by day, introduction of new compact cars will be a great thing.

Anytime better than the Prius I would say. And if priced reasonably, it'd attract the right amount of customers, or even more.
