Recommended Posts

I am planning to buy a car within 8lakhs, all inclusive. What are the cars i should be looking at? Any body type will do. My preferences are comfortable ride and refinement.

Plus, shall I wait for the new jazz?

Hello Srijan,

You have best budget wherein you have lots of choices i.e. from Premium Hatch to Sedan to Mini SUV to MUVs or Full Fledged SUV also.

Within your budget you can have following choices. These are my personal favourites, I have omitted some.

BEST OF LUCK !!!!!!!

(a) Hatch Backs

- Hyundai i20 Elite

- Maruti Suzuki Swift ZDi

- Hyundai Grad i10

- Fiat Punto Evo 90hp

- Toyota Etios Cross

- Fiat Avventura

- VW Cross Polo

- Honda Brio

- VW POLO GT (TSI and TDI) - great cars but you will have to stretch your budget a little and some feel it's not worth to spend too much just to experience engineering.

(B) Compact Sedans

- Maruti Swift Dzire

- Tata Zest

- Honda Amaze

- Hyundai Xcent

© Sedans

- Ford Fiesta Classic

- Toyota Etios

- Fiat Linea

- Nissan Sunny

- Maruti Ciaz

The above sedans may fit into your budget if negotiate.

Following sedans are going little above (+50K to 1L) your budget of 8L (On Road)

- Honda City - Skoda Rapid - Hyundai Verna Fluidic - VW Vento - Ford Fiesta

(d) MUVs

- Chevrolet Enjoy

- Maruti Ertiga

- Honda Mobilio

- Mahindra Xylo

(e) Lifestyle SUVs

- Mahindra Thar 4 x 4

- Maruti Gypsy

- Force Gurkha 2WD

(f) Compact SUVs

- Mahindra Bolero - New Bolero is expected to launch soon but than you will have to wait for long delivery period.

- Ford EcoSport

- Renault Duster - May go beyond your fixed budget but very nice car to own.

- Mahindra Quanto - Not very good looking mini SUV.

(g) SUVs

- Tata Safari Dicor - Going little above your fixed budget but you may get heavy cash discount form TATA Dealer due to dismal sales.

Hi Srijan,

As you mentioned comfortable ride and refinement, its worth waiting for new Jazz. As all of us know Honda Engines are very refined, reliable and peppy to drive.

Punto/Polo TSI, you can enjoy the dynamics and performance.

If its the features and looks on your card, then it should definitely be I20 Elite.

But, do let us know when you finalize one :)

  • srijan_s. To optimize your search I will suggest these points
  • Is this budget for the car is the on the road price and check the on the road price in your city.
  • What are your requirements of the vehicle. Like safety, luxury and features, Fuel efficiency, running cost and power, after sales and service., Handling and driving pleasure, seating capacity. Often you will be required to compromise here and there and so set the priority/points for all these. After this calculation you make come up with only few of them. Then you post for suggestions in the forum.
