7 Seat Wagon R  OR extended wheel base Wagon R will make more sense atelast for India considering the way Wagon R is used by taxi operators as well as people who consider Wagon R fuel efficient . Adding more space will help to create space for luggage which is right now used by by CNG tank.

Wagon R has created it's own niche in hatchback segment by projecting itself as very fuel efficient.

Maruti has started testing WagonR-based EV prototypes in India. Found some footage of one of these prototypes in Gurgaon

These prototype EVs have been developed exclusively by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, and the project is in line with the company’s plan to introduce an electric vehicle in the Indian market by 2020. Leaked pics reveal the new Wagon R inside and out! The Wagon R for India looks quite different to the one sold abroad - upfront it gets wraparound headlamps which are curved towards the grille and also get distinctive kinks on the far ends; the grille's rather simple too. The new Wagon R also gets a floating roof design similar to that seen on the Ertiga, along with subtle creases to the front and rear fenders and doors. Behind, it gets much larger tail-lamps which are now mounted high up the C-pillar.
