Well I don't think its stand for anything.

Think of it as a BMW

1 series cheapest

7 series costliest

so in that way

A-Z

L becomes cheapest

Z becomes costliest

I am currently in bombay. I am sorry to say but I really doubt if these are the official full forms, seems more like made up by someone else.

But I would reallt like to know about this show. Which channel does it come on and who is the anchor and production house director or anything you might know.

I don't think there is any particular meaning to the names given to the variants. But I've noticed, the letter x is always there - lx, vx, zx, gsx. Different manufacturers use it differently. But its always there.

It was probably first seen on Padminis which had a model called deluxe. Then Maruti came up with DX on their 800 and the rest is history as they say.

Well engine names as sure full forms...

VVTi- variable val.. timing

vtec- .......

But I think its only in accent that the model is also named after the engine.
