Why is Swift diesel in much demand

Recommended Posts

Swift diesel is one of the hatchback cars which is selling off too fast in that segment.I compared swift with Palio diesel and indica Vista even though tese 2 cars have th same engine , swift is more in demand . With a waiting period of more than a month , potential customers are not paying any attention to this . so what are the aspects which makes the swift so much successful in the market . Is it

   1 . Mileage

    2 . Brand Name

    3 . Technical features

    4 . Style

Firstly its a maruti so service and spares are not an issue also the engine is fine tuned in swift for more drivability than the rest and gives good driving pleasure . THe others palio is dated and the Indica always has cab image with it.

Its not just the engine but the overall satisfaction you get in the swift is best.

Palio is a very old car and the engine is not as good as Swift in terms of driveability. MS has tuned it very well. And Swift as a whole package is impressive than Vista and Palio. Not to forget traditional Maruti values of service, spares, reliabilty(against Vista), etc...Swift is the best driver's car of the lot. Though Swift's looks are not as impressive like it was perceived at its launch, it still better Palio and Vista(the ugliest IMO).

But with Ritz on sale, situation could change with the wait period of both cars(Swift and Ritz). It is MS which is gonna decide the sales of Ritz and Swift.

Palio for poor Service of Fiat (and image of Premier Padmini which is still referred as "Fiat" and not Premier Padmini)

Even Vista for poor service of Tata and the Taxi Image of Normal Indica.

If Vista would have launched with Some Different Name (Instead of Indica Vista), then there would have been a Chance for Tata to make it a Winner.

EDIT:

Forgot to mention that both Fiat and Tata don't hold their VALUE at the Time of Resale AS COMPARED TO MARUTI SUZUKI.

Why?

Because no one has had a proper answer for this question.

Even I don't have one.

Iv'e been dumbfounded by this question.

the indica vista, palio, swift all have the mjd engine of fiat but the nvh levels in swift is quiet less almost like a petrol and coupled with maruti's brand image of reliable cars, cheap spares and a stylish looking shape of swift is doing the trick !!!!

Sporty looks, fun to drive and more than anything its MARUTI, thats why Swift is doing wonders only in India and some other small markets and not in any other big countries like EU, USA, Australia, Africa, UAE, Far east,etc...

its not about the same engine.let me list a few:-

Image--the swift is got a better image over all. the hatch back diesels are mainly bought by young couples / singles who would prefer to be seen in a swift than an indica vista!

The gear box--the swift's gearbox is a gem. You cannot even compare the vista's and the palio's gear box.

Fun to drive factor-obviously the swift scores here...

better re-sale value and better service back up..

And add to this the sort of image an indica has- taxi, unreliable etc..the vista is a good car, but it has been over shadowed by the earlier indica's image and the swift's radical looks.

Almost every new launch by Maruti is viewed with great enthusiasm & at the time of Swift's launch the anticipation was huge as the design was something new with a lot of panache attached. Coupled with this the stress free ownership experience, consumer confidence, easy availability of spares, top notch service, reliability, etc contributed immensely to the popularity of Swift.

Further, as the word about the frugal nature of the diesel Swift & engine performance/reliability spread, consumers made a beeline.

Also, Maruti knows the knack of marketing & generating consumer interest, this art was fully exercised in ensuring success of the Swift.

<FONT face="Times New Roman' date=' Times, serif" size=5>simple dude....disel costs less than petrol!...[/quote']

That is a tremendously *****ic reply. And that too in such big fonts. Why are you so keen of making a fool of yourself? The question was about other cars that carry the same "diesel" engine not selling as well as the Dzire.

My answer to that question is that it has everything to do with the Brand Value that Maruti has built around itself and the failure of TATA and Fiat to do the same. Everybody knows the reasons why so let us not get down into that now.

The Swift diesels excel on almost all fronts and though its not as sturdy (or as dated )as the Palio or as Indian (or lacking identity and may be image) as the Vista, its always a  pleasure to own a Swift.
