Compulsory Helmet with every new two-wheeler: SC

Two-wheeler manufacturers will now have to sell their vehicles bundled with a helmet as the Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the Delhi High Court's earlier order.

Last year, the Delhi High Court had mandated compulsory purchase of helmet along with new two-wheelers. However, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) had filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court against the High Court order, arguing that the Motor Vehicles Act already stipulates the use of a helmet while riding a two-wheeler and the order amounts to changing the rule from

I welcome the law.

Other than making Helmet purchase compulsory while buying a two wheeler the law should be enforced & made mandatory that helmets should be worn during driving a two wheeler all over IndiaoN>.


Other than wearing a helmet the law should also be made so that the helmet strap is properly buckled. How many life
