Kappa(Hyundai) vs K (Maruti)-Engines/Cars

Recommended Posts

A car is not just the engine. I am surprised to see that nobody has come up with durability, rattles, maintenance, etc. Both Swift and i10 are nice cars, each with their own brand traits.

Maruti engines tend to be higher revving, with torque higher up. Both are DOHC engines so will suffer a bit on account of driveability.

Thats because the discussion in one thread was about which car to buy and other was about K vs Kappa engines

Sgiitk - can you explain it further

@spock:

1. Moderation is our job and not yours. No more snide remarks!

2. DOHC engines tend to be higher revving, and (almost) invariably develop peak torque at higher rpm. For driveability you need peak torque at lower rpm. They are more efficient and powerful.

Nope.It has a decent amount of power for city but FE is between 11 - 12 km/l which is low.the UV-A might be replaced in a year or two so avoid this car and also repair and servicing are on higher side.
