Hi Vamshi

The Jazz fit your requirement to the T. Its a great hatch and very spacious. Do not worry about maintenance. Hondas are super reliable and are more like fill it forget it type of cars. The interiors offer a lot of flexibility as well. Not to mention it was a jewel of an engine

^ Look no further than the Storme if you want a proper SUV. It is the best of SUV currently offroad. Has good features and Has the looks of an SUV.

On the other hand XUV is more a city SUV than a offroad SUV. Yes, it's being offered with lots of goodies, but you as an Army officer might not like it as this is not a SUV for the offroad, the braking has issues, it don't has the best ride quality as that of you are getting in Storme.

You can also look at the Skoda Yeti, if you don't have any problem with it's AFSS.

I suggest go for the Storme for proper SUV feel and it won't regret you.

Jai Hind :)

VW Polo ticks the all the boxes. It comes with a 6 year anti perforation guarantee. Not sure about resale. But personally I feel one should not buy a car with resale in mind. Because there is no point in buying something that you do not enjoy at the time of ownership but solely buy keeping somebody else's (2nd owners) preference in mind.

Thank you all. These two "Polo and Swift" are in consideration. I am waiting for any long term review of Swift owners in Mumbai. or any links. When is face lift of swift expected.. by November, if it is so is it better to wait ?

Wow.. its a tough one because the only car I can think of that will carry 6 passengers with reasonable comfort for the third row passengers is the Innova. What you will get is a good resale and reliable machine. You can look at used cars or stretch your budget a bit for a new Innova. Toyota is also planning a refreshed Innova like SUV it would be wise to wait for such release.

Your second option is Mobilio, again it is a cheaper alternative to Innova but we don't know how it is going to age. Innova has an upper hand in this department because it has proven its worth in Indian market and can pretty easily absorb India conditions.

XUV has some niggles so its best to avoid. You can learn more about XUV reviews from several auto forums.
