Starting trouble

Recommended Posts

Maruti 800 2004 make.

Starts alright on cold engine. But does not start when engine is hot. Even if it stalls after 2 mins from starting, it fails to start. Needs cranking 5 to 10 times after some time (5 to 10 mins) is allowed to cool it down.

Guess this is fairly common problem. Any ideas on that? Thanks,

Hi,

If you are telling that the vehicle is starting fine in cold condition & takes long cranking in hot condition, suspect fault with fuel pump/fuel line.

Needs to be diagnosed

I think the actual connectors were loose on the wires that connect to the battery. If this is what's going on, you can get around it by holding the pedal down a little ways while starting, and then a few seconds more until it hits its stride.
