Spy pictures of the next Force Gurkha have surfaced. The new car which should be launched in 2013 was spotted near Pune. Based on the old Gen Mercedes G Wagen, the test car had G inspired round headlamps, bonnet mounted indicators, roof rails and a snorkel.

The new Grukha is expected to come with the Mercedes 2.2 litre FMTech engine from the Force One SUV which is BS IV compliant. The Gurkha is a true blue offroader so one cant expect too many goodies but should definitely come with air conditioning. Pricing is not known but it can be expected to be priced in the Mahindra Thar territory. I love the Gurkha personally. It just has so much character. Another reason is that Im extremely fond of the G Wagen.

Looks good, also the Alloys are from Force One.

I hope they keep the front styling a bit muscular and not tame it down like they did with the Force Travelller front.

I think they must try modifying this platform a bit and come up with a sub-4m SUV as well. Sourcing of engine could be an issue though.

Gurkha was a very capable machine, Force could not handle/market it well & nor there was infrastructure with them to do it.

This time around things are different, Force is desperately trying to get a foot-hold on the Private vehicles category. Guess they will source the engine from Mercedes. Gurkha has the makings of a successful offroad vehicle, its Force that needs to get its act together.

Lets hope FORCE Motors launch this one , considering that the 4x4 Force One is still pending & has crossed its launch deadline bby months.

Coming back to the GURKHA, this is one car which should be seriously considered as the 2.2 Merc engine is going to be plonked in it.

Also lets hope this gen GURKHA is more liveable to gain more fan base.

Also Butterfly windows @ the rear ? Still there ? Not good !

seems to be too boxy in flesh,a muscular yet simplistic designing like the mahindra bolero is a sure shot victory.

The windows and the rear part of the vehicle looks a bit out of proportions!!! hope the final designing doesnt resemble this, have my eyes set on this vehicle because the only other ruggrd looking suv in the market is the bolre which is doing wonders on the top 10 sales list.

Force Gurkha SUV Spotted again: Now completely undisguised:

post-67-0-54134500-1350328302_thumb.jpg

Motorbash.com have spotted a red test mule of the updated Force Trax Gurkha 4WD fully undisguised. The new car has few exterior modifications like the round headlights which replaces the earlier version’s rectangular units, and alloy wheels that have come off the Force One.

post-67-0-19658600-1350328317_thumb.jpg

The old Trax Gurkha was powered by a Mercedes derived 2.6-litre common rail diesel motor which develops 75 bhp of power and 195 Nm of torque. The 4WD version came equipped with lockable differential.

The new Trax Gurkha 4WD is expected to borrow its powertrain from the Force motors’ flagship SUV, the Force One. The Force One also employs a Mercedes sourced engine which displaces 2.2 litre. With 142 PS and 320 Nm on tap, this motor could enhance the Gurkha’s already strong capabilities and give it an advantage over the Mahindra Thar.

Force Motors has launched the Gurkha SUV.

Thanks for the update PH :)

So now the ultimate question for all those who love off-roading

Mahindra Thar or Force Gurkha?

Will have to see the 4x4 Harware on Gurkha. On the outset, it seems MM would have to update the Thar with better fit, finish & interiors.

In the hardtop arena, Gurka trumps for sure, Thar has catching up to do here too.

Might be an Inflation-effect but, Rs.8.85 lacs for Noisy BS-III, 4x4 SUV is too much.

Somewhere around 8-8.2 lacs OTR have been ideal for this car, but success of Force One & after seeing the fan-queues for Mahindra Thar, Force motors priced it with Optimism. Lets see for its fate now.

Btw, on the similar lines, I'm expecting top-end BS-IV 4x4 Gurkha with 2.2 FM-Tech engine from Force One priced at Rs.9.8 lacs(ex-showroom).

Just look at this pics of Gurkha! It's the best makeover I've ever seen! Many components are carried from the normax trax, but just with help of a body kit, snorkel, new bumpers, new headlight assembly & a new rediator grill the vehicle looks completely fresh & fantastic! Though it's overpriced, it's engine is underpowered & still can clear the BS-3 norms, I think it'll perform decently on the sales chart!
