Facelifted WagonR Expected: EDIT, NOW LAUNCHED!

Recommended Posts

After enjoying the success of the Ertiga and the new Dzire compact sedan, Maruti wants to try and push the sales of its 'Blue eyed boy'.

This website has done a news article with a picture that displays some subtle changes carried out to the front of the car. The question is, will a minor face lift be sufficient? Hopefully, the face lifted car will come with the DDIS engine as an option.

Ahh never noticed it in the ad on TV but this is a welcome update. Looks nice from whatever I can see. But I doubt that the Wagon R will go the diesel way. That would jack up the price and put it right against its stable mate the Ritz.

The Wagon R was the fourth best selling car in India in November 2012 with over 11k units being sold. M sure facelift would surely help in generating more sales. Hope they launch it with an automatic gearbox and lighter interiors.

WagonR is surely a winner for Maruti from it's initial launch in India.

Whether they update or don't, it has his own space and will surely gain sales..

Now, the thing is, what updates they are planning. I mean, i saw that link in the top comment, there are just few tweaks to the facial looks. If they give new interiors with more powerful engine, that will be a sureshot for Maruti

Its a little over two years since the new Wagon R was launched I think. A good time for a facelift me thinks. Looks good in the pictures above. It still is one of the most practical cars around and the sales numbers speak for themselves. Hope theres no price increase for this.

Everything seems to be the same in the video advertisement, except for a new looking front bumper alongwith new radiator grille.

Interiors also seems to be the same with same grey upholstery.

But the new bumper is really better looking than the existing one & adds the modernity to some 2 years old design.

This wont do any good , they look leftovers from the recent Ritz styling

People will continue buying WagorR for what it is , rather than what these changes make it to be ,most of these changes will even go unnoticed by buyers.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R facelift revealed

Maruti has unveiled an updated version of its

WagonR hatchback, and the refreshed car gets

a long list of exterior and interior upgrades.

On the outside, the grille is narrower than the

current car’s and now comes with a single

horizontal strip, rather than the three of

before; the LXi and VXi trims get additional

chrome detailing here. The bumper is also all

new, with a larger air dam and redesigned fog

lamp housings. The overall design of the front

bumper now mimics styling seen on newer

Maruti offerings, such as the Ertiga and the

Swift Dzire. All these styling changes give the

WagonR a more upmarket look.

The interiors have also been reworked. The

dashboard now gets a dual-tone colour scheme

– beige for the top half and black for the

bottom(i think it's going to be opposite).

The LX and LXi get dual-colour, beige

and black seats, while the top-end VXi gets all-

beige upholstery. Exclusive to the top VXi

variant is a fully integrated ‘Eagle Wings’ audio

system with USB input.

The outgoing WagonR is currently priced from

Rs 3.54 lakh for the base variant to Rs 4.37

lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end VXi.

Maruti will reveal prices for the updated

WagonR next week.

Maruti has done a good job with Interiors. This will make for a very comfortable hatch for in-City use. It really amuses me to see how Maruti reads this market like no other manufacturer. Its managed to add zing to an ageing model. A giant like Toyota has been unable to do the same to Liva!
