VET5 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2017 The 2017 Civic hatchback is currently being showcased at the Bangkok International Motor Show. It's powered by a 1.5-litre turbo 4-cylinder engine producing 173hp. Styling is differentiated from the that of the sedan with unique front and rear bumpers that have large faux inlets and outlets. The shortened rear hosts a tailgate and roof spoiler and C-shaped taillights. The styling looks a little busy but otherwise I think looks pretty good! VET5 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2018 The facelifted Honda Civic has been launched in Thailand and is currently on display at the 2018 Thailand International Motor Expo 2018 and this is the one that will make its way to India. This one receives some subtle cosmetic changes - a new front bumper design, new fog lamp surround + a new horizontal chrome strip in the rear bumper diffuser area. Inside, there's an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features Honda's Sending advanced driving assistance system (only on the 1.5 RS model). The Honda Sensing suite includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation system, collision mitigation braking system, and automatic high-beam system. Autocar India recently revealed that Honda will bring the Civic sedan to India early next year. The India-bound Civic will come with a 140hp, 1.8-litre petrol engine mated to either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. And, like the upcoming CR-V, the Civic will also be available with a diesel engine for the very first time (a 120hp, 1.6 litre unit). VET5 0 Report post Posted January 15 The Honda Civic Versatilist concept was on display at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Based on the Civic hatchback, the concept sports noticeably crossover cues. It sports grey body cladding, a redesigned bumper which features large round fog lights and a wider centre air intake, a restyle rear bumper with a slim central tailpipe, 18-inch alloy wheels from the HR-V RS and a fin-shaped door appliqué. Honda’s offering two engine options for India - a 1.8-litre, 141hp petrol and the 1.6-litre Earth Dreams diesel engine, making 120hp and 300Nm (the same engine that powers the CR-V)

sachins 50 Report post Posted Wednesday at 09:45 AM I think Honda got the engine and gearbox combinations wrong for Civic. Enthusiasts would have preferred petrol to be available with manual (instead of CVT) and general public would have loved diesel AT (instead of manual). But again, everything will depend on the price and this segment is anyway seeing a downward trend.

I think soon, the manual gears will become the thing of past. I know people who are driving for almost 20 years and they still mess up with the clutch, specially the ladies, who have this habit of unnecessarily pressing clutches, for no reason. Honda has to price it lower than Toyota Altis.
