  1. Thanks Sstar! Are ESC, Traction Control really essential in an urban vehicle which is occasionally used for roadtrips?
  2. Ford EcoSport looks stunning!!! But I have a few doubts: 1. Will Indians be willing to pay Rs. 7-9 lakhs for a 1l engine? This point was raised in one of the earlier posts, but was left unanswered. So reiterating it here. 2. Considering it is a Rs. 7-9 lakhs car, how critical is fuel efficiency vis-a-vis performance? There are so many i20s on Indian roads and they are not known for fuel economy as much as performance. And I have some doubts regarding the Compact SUV segment itself! 1. Will it be for primarily urban crowd or rural or both? 2. If it's meant for urban crowd, what value proposition would compact SUVs offer over premium hatchbacks(specially i20, Figo) and entry level sedans(City, Verna) which are priced in the same range? 3. What additional features/specs you expect in compact SUVs vis-a-vis similarly priced premium hatchbacks or entry level sedans? I have been trying to find answers to these on many forums, but little success so far!!
  3. Some people do show off! I would like to add one more question for discussion. When we say a feature rich car in the price range of 6-8 lakhs(ex showroom), which all come to your mind? For me it's just i20! What do others have to say
  4. I agree there is a sizeable compact SUV market in India. However the following questions ponder me a lot? 1. Will it be for primarily urban crowd or rural or both? 2. If it's meant for urban crowd, what value proposition would compact SUVs offer over premium hatchbacks(specially i20, Figo) and entry level sedans(City, Verna)? 3. What additional features you expect in compact SUVs vis-a-vis similarly priced premium hatchbacks or entry level sedans? Can some one help me here?
  5. However, I feel that such features do make a big impact in final purchase decisions. People often refer to feature-rich i20 and Beat!
  6. So how desirable is Push Start? As rameshbabu said earlier, doesn't it take away the fun of starting your car?
  7. By floor mounted rear AC, i meant AC vents for the rear seat. Why is ESC so crucial?
  8. I agree with you on keyless entry, push button start and 'auto roll-up of all windows at one go'. However, daytime running headlamps, I feel look good despite having less of functional value. I also feel it's become a craze now in cars of this price range because it offers you some exclusivity (not many cars have this yet) and one can look upto an Audi/BMW/MB feel! Or, may be I am wrong
  9. Which of the following features would you choose in a Rs 6-8 lakhs car? 1. Rain sensing wipers 2. Daytime running headlamps 3. Auto-folding Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) 4. Floor mounted rear AC 5. Passive keyless entry & Push button start 6. Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  10. Thanks for the replies! Can someone briefly point out positives and negatives of Quanto vis-a-vis Duster? Also what additional can I expect in EcoSport?
  11. I am interested in purchasing a compact utility vehicle (CUV). However, being a Santro Xing owner, this is like venturing into uncharted territory. So please help in deciding what all features or factors I should focus upon while deciding a CUV. Many thanks in advance!
