  1. well on between japanese & korean ' date=' its like comparing a horse to a mule, i wont say more.

You are again making it a Japan vs Korea debate..... It's a no brainer and a universal truth that Korean products are not yet on par with Toyota and Honda....  and Maruti is only a donkey which has the heart of a horse......

and it's amazing how people are happy with mules...

  2. most definitely. but whatever is put up on a forum is open for debate. some might go by it ' date='while others may not. so, chill pal ,nobody is trying to snatch away your love for hyundai! [/quote']

no issues dude... and it's not that i am a staunch lover of hyundai... but it's just that i find it better than maruti.... any way peace out smiley1.gif

  3. old gen. vitara wasnt a complete car' date=' its driving dynamics were flawed. but i dont find much wrong in the present vitara, except  that it should have a diesel.
see crv is also through bred japanese & thats my point. once in the business, one has to fight the very best & not aim for 2nd.

Let me make myself clear here... I am not at all saying Hyundai is the best out there on the road.... even they have a long way to go but one thing is clear that they are improving very fast, the clear case in point is the i10.

What i intended to say is, Maruti doesn't come close even to a Hyundai, let alone compare it with its japanese counterparts. Of course the sales data seem to tell an entirely different story.  The bottom line is the fact that i don't like maruti because of their cheap vehicles... even though they throw in a lot of equipment, i don't feel they are worth the money. I like certain things in my car and for me Hyundai does that better than Maruti and hence i like it better than Maruti. This is entirely my personal opinion and i think i am entitled to have one smiley2.gif

  4. Tell me more about the E varient is it better of in the middle of the two .!

Hmm i think it would be.... historically the Autos have been targetted as Premium+... so Honda would feel if it's an Auto that a buyer wants then he would pay a premium and would neglect even if a manual basic version of Civic is available for the same price....

mind you, this is what i think would be Honda's logic, that too if they price the CVT City on a premium to the Civic E....    Not mine.... i would go for the civic... just for that snob value at least...smiley2.gif

  5. for success ' date=' ford has to start building name from scratch. & for a start phase out, outdated models & bring in fresh contemporary cars.

OH Yeah, THEY ARE!!!!! Don't you know??!!!??? They are bringing in the ""newly"" designed """Completely REVAMPED"""  Ikon with new head lights and new bumper strip!!!!!smiley18.gif   smiley7.gif

  6. maruti cars are safe enough' date=' adequately plush & have normal interior quality.[/quote']

Well, i disagree with that.. you don't pay 6 lakhs to a car and before even you break coconut in front of it it starts rattling and parts start falling off!!!smiley36.gif

what they could not do with vitara' date=' hyundai could not do with tucson.

IMHO, Tucson failed because of faulty execution of strategies and the lack of snob value for Hyundai. It's definitely better built and is much much plusher than the Vitara....  infact the Vitara is no match even to my elantra in terms of interior quality...

  7. lets hope it makes it her very very soon....its better than the i10....

Really? forget looks, they are subjective; but i don't think Maruti can come close to the build quality of hyundai, be as safe as one and also offer the same level of plushness and the interior quality. When they can't do it on the 14 and odd lakh Vitara, they cannot do it on a 4 lakh odd car.

It might become a success (purely because of India's obsession with small Marutis) but i can bet i10 will be the better car overall.

  8. First of all, when Ford was about to launch Fiesta, I was expecting a bit more. I was expecting a sedan with better styling, little more interior space (say in the league of Optra) and definitely better interiors than what my Ikon had to offer.... I was disappointed when they launched primarily by the Styling, size and the asking price for that combination. Also, their spare prices were still high and service still not up to the mark. Now, with this facelift, they have lost a chance for making up for all this;of ocurse they couldn't have grown the car into a bigger one but they could have definitely launched the new Fiesta which is being introduced all over the world!! Ithink they should learn more than a thing or two from the Honda guys who have refreshed their model lineup in terms with their international offerings!!   If they don't, clearly Ford India is going to dogs.. smiley11.gif

But having driven the Ikon for nearly 7 years, i want Ford to succeed....smiley5.gif and i am now pinning hopes on the Focus...if and when it will be launched

  9. In what way is a estate safer and more confortable?

In no way an estate is better than its saloon counterpart... be it in performance, aerodynamics or braking. Infact it's possible that it suffers a bit in all these departments due to its size and shape.  The only advantage they provide is of space and space utilizations in terms of carrying luggage..... you can carry odd sized luggage and also more of that... this is the primary reason why such vehicles are popular in US... because of their lifestyle... Estates help them in their shopping junkets as well as camping  and all such activities that the Americans love to indulge in... Since such a lifestyle is not popular in India and also since we equate status = boot, estates hardly sell in India...

  10. octane' date=' shireen bhan is the editor of cnbc delhi edition i think, shes immensely talented & probably the best in her field. its a separate thing that autocar & cnbc have parted ways, but shes not "stupid" by any means. [/quote']

I know she is talented and it is evident when she is hosting the regular 'business' oriented shows like young turks and all..... and i didn't mean she's stupid in an aboslute sense but i feel she looks stupid on the T.V show  'Overdrive' and i meant the same with Sirish Chandran as well...

and anyway lets not continue this discussion here... since this is not the proper thread...
