  1. @Anijog Please read the post completely and calmly and then answer. Else I will have to keep PMing you until I get my doubt cleared. I transferred the Indigo LS (May 2004) to my name in Sept 2007 but did not inform Ins. Co. about it. Hence on Ins. Papers, my Dad is the Owner and on RC (Reg. Cert.) I am the Owner. Now if I change the name on Ins. Paper by submitting RC Xerox, would I get the NCB next year (when I renew the policy on 19/05/2010)? If not, then should I cancel the policy in April 2010 (since it is in my Dad's name) and take New Policy in my name since we are not going to benefit if my name is added to Ins. Paper. But before cancelling Dad's Name, I have to get the NCB Cert. which we can use to Take New Policy while buying a new car within 3 years. For how many years, does one get NCB if NO CLAIMS ARE MADE THROUGHTOUT THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE? I had heard or read somewhere that maximum 65% NCB can be had in step of 20% per year and after that no Discount can be had on the Premium. Is this correct?
  2. Experts PLEASE answer my query which I posted Yesterday (5th June) at 5:50pm. OK Here is the Same Query-- We own an Indigo LS. The car was bought in my Dad's name on 13th May 2004. Then we bought Indigo XL Grand DiCOR on 3rd May 2007. In September 2007, the LS (2004) was transferred to my name. Now the RC has my name as Second Owner. But the Insurance Papers still say that my Dad is the owner. i.e. I did not transfer the Insurance to my name. The Insurance Expired on 12th May 2005 since none remembered to renew it. It was then Renewed on 19th May 2005. While renewing the Insurance policy on 19th May 2005, the Ins Co. misprinted the Manufacture Year as 2000 instead of 2004. Now I want to change the name on Insurance Papers from my Dad's to mine and the Manfr Year from 2000 to 2004. My Queries-- 1. If I change the name on Ins Papers to mine, would I get the NCB henceforth? If I am not to get the NCB, should I get the NCB Certificate in my Dad's Name, Cancel the Policy in his name and Take out New Policy in my name? When I renewed the policy in my Dad's Name on 19th May 2009, the Premium came out to be Rs.4,300/-+ (I guess 4,381/-). And use the NCB Certificate (in my Dad's name) while Purchasing Our Next Car? Is it beneficial to cancel the Policy in Dad's name and take New Policy in my name since the Current Premium Amount is just Rs.4300/-+. 2. If the Manufacture Year is changed from 2000 to 2004, would the Premium be increased (The manfr Year was misprinted as 2000 instead of 2004 on Ins.Papers)? Please help.
  3. I did not say Sulphur helps injectors. In fact I posted Sulphur Eats up the Life of Fuel (Diesel) Injectors and Fuel (Diesel) Pumps.
  4. Still No Answers to this question? Have Experts gone on a vacation?
  5. I did not get your problem correctly. Please correct me if wrong. If you turn the AC Temp. Knob to Blue Zone, it blows Hot Air into the cabin and if you turn the AC Temp. Knob to Red Zone, it blows Cold Air into the cabin. Is this what you mean?
  6. Open the bonnet. 1. Checking Coolant Level-The Rectangular Transparent Tank near the Right Shock Absorber is the Coolant Tank. See whether the Coolant is within Min-Max Mark. If its Below than Min Top up with Premixed Coolant (available at TASC) or buy Concentrate Coolant available at Automobile shop and mix water in proportion mentioned on that Pack or 50:50 (Tata Recommended). If you buy from outside (i.e. Concentrate), please post here for exact Proportion. 2.Checking Engine Oil Level. Best Time to Check is before starting the engine. Allow the Engine to Cool Down for at least 5-10 minutes if it is Hot. Park the Vehicle on Level Ground to avoid FALSE Reading. Remove Dipstick. Wipe the End with Clean Cloth. Insert it back fully. Again remove and check whether the oil level is within Lower and Upper Marks. If not, then add Engine Oil (I guess 20W50). BTW where do you live in Pune? I am planning to come next to Pune. So can meet and guide you to some extent if possible.
  7. @kk1511.... I don't know whether the fine of Rs.2100/- he was asking for is by legal method or ..... As for Renewal, You can have a rough Idea of Premium at below site. http://www.policybazaar.com/car-insurance/car-insurance-india.aspx Here Select the Type of Policy as "New" (I doubt "Renewal" Option will work for you since your previous policy has expired). Fill in the Details and you will get a Phone Call from the Policy Bazaar Team and they will guide you. Also after you fill in the details at the above site, you will be shown a list of Insurance Quotes from Different Companys. You can compare them and also have the help from the PB Team. Another Option is-- Take your car to any Insurance Comp. (Preferably the One whose Quote you find Better on PB Site) along with the RC of your car. They will fill the Form, attach the Xerox of RC to that form, they will inspect condition of your car and then they decide the Premium.
  8. As SGiitk pointed out 4Years/80,000kms for Civic must be for Extended Warranty since ALL HONDA Cars (Accord, Civic, City, CRV) come with 2 Years/40,000kms as Standard Warranty which is less than 1,00,000kms of Altis.
  9. Can you please tell us what High Maintenance are you facing with your CRDi? In fact, CRDis are known for their Modern Technology.
  10. As for Engine not Heating up Soon, Read below experience of mine. I drove our Indigo LS (Diesel) at 1:30 am (Yes you read it Correct. Its 1:30AM) for around 11-12kms, but still the Temp. Gauge did not rise even 2-3 mm. The Gauge Remained at "C" after that Long Drive. OK. I drove the Car very Smoothly-- Not Accelerating Fast but Slowly. So Don't worry about the Gauge. The Gauge will rise when the Temp of Coolant will start increasing Considerably. It depends on the Surrounding Environment Temperature. You mentioned that Even if you press accelerator fully, car does not pickup. You have Indigo GLS. That means Petrol. Please mention the Odometer Reading, Last Engine Oil-Oil Filter Change, Petrol Filter Change, Air Filter Change so that we may have better idea about your problem. Do you feel Poor Pickup when AC is ON or even with AC OFF?

  12. Can anyone tell me how can there be a dead pedal alongside Accelerator? Or is he mistaken to Dead Pedal alongside Clutch Pedal?
  13. Did not know that since Tata Passenger Cars have First Free Service Scheduled at 1000kms. So thought it must be common to all manufacturers who sell cars in India. Note- No offense intended.
  14. @akj53in Changed the Brake Pads within 1000kms? How can the Brakes Fade at such low Odo reading? Even before FIRST FREE SERVICE? There must have been another problem.
  15. Both the bumpers of Camry dont gel with each other properly. And also the colour of Original Bumper (Top) is different from Aftermarket(Below) one. And because of this LARGE Bumper, this Camry looks like a SUV more than a car.
  16. Anijog, I guess you are right. If A wants to turn right first, then he will put on right indicator and flash High Beam to warn B. If B wants to turn left first, he will put on left indicator and flash High Beam to warn A.
  17. http://www.ultimatesyntheticoil.com/Improve_Fuel_Economy/Increase_Fuel_Economy.htm Just have a look at the below point "Further, because ULSD can otherwise cut the life of fuel injectors and fuel pumps in half, Federal regulations require gas stations to add (for the first time) performance additives to the new Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD)" mentioned in the DIESELS: under "17. Use a Good Fuel Additive" tip. Does Really Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel cut the life of Fuel Injectors and Fuel Pumps? sudeepd2009-06-04 12:01:50
  18. Just Now while browsing through Fuel Saving Tips mentioned on http://www.hyundai.co.in/fuel-tip9.asp?pagename=fuel there is one advice- the Last Tip on that page which says-- "Do not turn air louvers towards the window side". Can anyone explain this? What will be the bad effect if air louvers are turned towards Window Side?
  19. Can anyone Please Post Answer to Very LAST Post of Mine (21st May 2009)? Means I want to know whether Anijog's post Holds Candle to Sun?
  20. Mixing of Engine Oil with Coolant is a sign of Head Gasket Blown. Same problem we had faced with our 2004 Indigo LS (which has covered 1,66,000+kms till date) in around 2005 end. I don't remember whether the HG was replaced under warranty (might be). In our Indigo LS, the Engine Oil used to mix with Coolant. One could Clearly See the Oil Floating on Coolant in the Auxiliary Tank. But our car did not overheat nor smoke came. Please get the HG replaced U/W as soon as possible. Have you contacted below Helpline? 1800-11-4645 (Toll Free - Only from MTNL & BSNL numbers) 098-7356-4645 (For all GSM Connections / Landline other than MTNL & BSNL numbers) cr@hmil.net
  21. But if I remember correct, the first Free service is at 1000kms or 1 month whichever is earlier. Even if 1000kms are not covered within first month, its better to get the First Free Service done TO KEEP WARRANTY ALIVE.
  22. How can dzire get Excise Relaxation? Its length is over 4metres. @houseonwheels I guess Maruti would launch BS4 variants of Dzire in last quarter this year or first quarter of 2010. Also Maruti would Try Hard to make all its models (except Ritz which is already BS4 compliant) meet BS4 by the end of 2009 since Production of ONLY BS4 models will be done from Feb 2010 as April 2010 will Allow Only the BS4 Compliant Vehicles.
