  1. The car has covered 77,000+kms. This is for Indigo XL Grand DiCOR Model. Another similar problem is for Indigo LS. It has covered 1,63,000+kms. Whenever the car goes over speedbreakers or pothole roads, the Front Suspension makes noise. I changed all the four struts at around 85,000-90,000kms. At that time there was no specific problem, but I changed them. I should not have changed these at that time since there was no problem. The noise does not come while rotating the steering but only while going over speedbreakers or very rough roads. Can you please tell me how to deal with both the cars? The Indigo XL's (77,000kms)Steering makes noise whenever the Steering is rotated irrespective of motion of the car (Let the car be in motion or standstill, the noise comes when the steering is rotated). The Indigo LS' [1,63,000kms. All four struts (complete shock assembly) were replaced at 85-90,000kms despite no problem] Front Suspension makes noise while going over speedbreakers or very rough roads. BOTH THE CARS ARE NOT FACING ANY ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS EVEN WITH THIS NOISE COMING. Manish, now what do you suggest, Greasing or Replacement of Struts? The TASC advised me to grease the Struts of XL. They will separate the Springs and the inner rod with the tools and grease it and fit it back and check whether the noise disappears. If not then they will replace the struts with the new ones. I have not told them about the Indigo LS Suspension noise that comes when travelling over speed breakers or very rough roads. The noise does not come while rotating the steering but only while going over speedbreakers or very rough roads.
  2. Please answer the question mentioned in the very first of this topic. For your query, Please visit.http://www.autocarindia.com/new/autocar_forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4124 for more information on the Fuel Efficiency of our Indigos.
  3. Karan' date=' it has to be SPFI since 220 has single Cylinder. MPFI is for Multi-Cylinders as the name suggests. Karan you did not answer my query regarding Oil Strainer. I have sent it again just now. Please tell more about it. OMG. This is Disgusting. A FI Pulsar 220 emitting more CO than Carb 180. When I recently got the CO levels of my 180 DTS-i (LCD) checked at PUC Centre it was 0.244% and that too after travelling 11,400+kms and I service the Bike myself at Home. I don't trust BASC (Bajaj Authorised Service Centre) for service. I just buy Spare Parts from them. I would advise you to carry out as mentioned below- 1.Clean the Air filter with Petrol and after complete cleaning, apply some oil on the Filter. Applying oil will make the filteration better. But dont apply it much. Just a little bit which traps the dust and dirt. 2. Please use Xtra Premium Petrol Only. If your city has Speed 93, use it else use Xtra Premium. 3. Please check whether the breather hole is free from clog. This will ensure proper feeding of petrol to engine. The Breather hole is present in Fuel Tank through it air enters as fuel moves down to engine. You mentioned . Please check the Exhaustec Part fittedbelow the Engine. If its faulty, Low end and mid range torque is suffered. Carry out above checks and then come back here again and post what difference did you notice.
  4. For this also you enquire about the types of seat covers available, their quality, materials, etc and get back here for further guidance.
  5. Even if I went so many times to the workshop' date=' I got many parts replaced under warranty. You can have a look at the parts replaced. And even if they were not replaced under warranty, I would not have to spend my Bank Balance to buy the Spare Parts or Accessories of Indigo (or any Tata Vehicle for that matter) unlike AHNC. I would have to spend Peanuts for buying Spare Parts or Accessories of Tata Unlike AHNC which costs Precious Jewellary. Even if I faced so many problems with Tata, I would not mind to buy Indigo Vista provided it is at par with Linea. Else I will buy Linea Only. Well said Rahul. I will wait for this Thread "Help ANHC spare parts robbing me". But I want to make a slight correction in your suggestion. The Topic should be "HELP AHNC SPARE PARTS AND ACCESSORIES ROBBING ME"
  6. Why there is no hike in prices of Dynamic and Dynamic Pack (Petrol and Diesel)?
  7. Since this question was not answered in my topic of "Indigo XL facing a series of problems. Help.", I am forced to create this topic as A New Thread. Whenever the Steering is rotated (Left or Right), there is some noise (some what like if something is grinding) from the front end of the car may be from the Steering System or Shock Absorber. The noise comes irrespective of car moving or standstill. Means even if the car is standstill or in motion and the steering is rotated toward left or right, the noise comes. Can you please tell what is the cause of this? I showed to TASC yesterday. They told it is because of the struts are worn out. He suggested me to get the struts greased and see if that solves the problem. If it does not then replace the Struts. What do you guys advise? Should I get the Struts greased or Replaced? PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION TO YOUR BEST OF KNOWLEDGE.sudeepd2009-04-15 14:00:55
  8. These people bought the City with their Heart instead of mind. I would never buy BARELY EQUIPPED Car at 9+ Lakhs when I can get better Equipped Car below that Price. I would not be one of them. I will prefer Linea over ANHC until Honda equips City better and Price the Spare Parts and Accessories CHEAPER.
  9. Please check the Tyre Pressure in all four tyres and keep to the Ford Recommended Pressure. Check the Tyre Pressure when they are cold. The Weather should be Cool and the car should have not been run. The Best time to check will be in Early Morning before starting your journey. Check whether the Wheel nuts are properly tightened or not. I dont think there is Wheel Balancing Problem since your car swayed and not vibrated.

  11. You can get the sun film from VKool, Garware, etc. and get it on the window glass. There are various option like 50% UV Block, 70% UV Block, 95-99%UV Block, etc. You can opt for the 95-99% on Side and Rear Window Glasses and could go 50% for Front Windshield provided that the Shade of the Sunfilm is light in colour rather than dark. The light colour will get you out of the cops and the UV Block can also be had at the same time. But light shades have one disadvantage- No privacy. But this disadvantage can also act as Advantage- If any thief tried to break in your car, he can be spotted through light shades.
  12. One more problem occurred. I showed to TASC today. They told it is because of the struts are worn out. He suggested me to get the struts greased and see if that solves the problem. If it does not then replace the Struts. What do you guys advise? Please answer this question at the earliest or else I will have to create a Separate New Topic (WHICH I DON'T WANT SINCE IT WILL INCREASE THE LOAD FOR MODS) for this problem. SO PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION TO YOUR BEST OF KNOWLEDGE.
  13. means all glasses (except windshield of course) are tinted and front windshield has top band
  14. Doing so much of modifications on a Discover I will try. 1. You have to check whether the length of both Suspensions (Discover and Hunk) is identical or not? And why do you want Hunk's Suspension? You can check out with Discover 135 or XCD 135 Rear Gas Suspension. I guess Bajaj's Gas Shocks would be able to match the length instead of Hunk. 2.FI system needs much modifications as ECU, Air Intake, Ignition Timings, etc which needs more money and professional guy. 3.Fitting of FZ16 Front Suspension will also need modifications to suit the Bajaj. I guess the Forks of Yamaha would make the Bajaj's steering heavy. 4. The seats can be custom made from local cushion maker in the desired size and shape. 5. Again this needs professional guy and the Gearbox and the Engine need modifications to suit the 5 Speed Ratios. These Ratios must have to be properly spaced. 6. Dont have much idea about"Not Too Noisy" FEE.
  15. Suvadeep, Congrats for your 220. Do you face power problem at all speeds, within particular speed range or above particular speed? As for shutting down,What rpm does the Tachometer show? Also does your 220 shut down at only cold startsor even when the engine is warm (hot)? Replacement of Spark Plugs does not make much difference. From Spark Plugs I remember, get the spark plugs gap checked and adjust to the BAL Recommendation (I guess 0.7-0.8mm). You said you have got the CO adjusted. But I guess, MPFI Engines don't require much adjustments. I own 180 DTS-i with LCD Speedometer which has crossed 11,425+kms. Recently I checked the PUC which was found to be 0.244%. 180 is Carb and 220 is MPFI. So I guess there is no need to adjust the CO in 220 and that too so early (8,500kms). Please carry out what I mentioned above and let us know the details for further advice. Sudeep.
  16. As I said earlier, have the belt condition inspected for wear and tear (and also for dryness since wet belt may be due to some oil or water could cause squealing). If everything is OK, get the belt tightened to recommended play and see whether squealing vanishes. If not, then as Sanjay Sir said we (I also face squealing noise in our Indigo XL Grand DiCOR).have to live with that noise.
  17. Come on guys, please answer my thread. Are MRF so bad?

  19. 1. Waxoyl is reputed brand in India. 2. Except the Engine Protector, all other are overpriced. 3. For Modern Cars, it is not necessary going for these products. We own two indigos Indigo LS and Indigo XL. On LS, we had carried out Body Polishing at the very beginning. But other than that we did not carry anything on it. On XL, nothing has been done. LS is May 2004 and 1,63,000+Kms. XL is May 2007 and 77,000+Kms. No sign of rust under the body on both cars yet. TouchWood. As I told, modern Cars dont require anything extra. Just keep it clean. Thats it. sudeepd2009-04-13 11:16:39
  20. This is a Very Good Example of the Honda Reliability and Best Service. Most of us (Not including Me) praise about the Maintenance Free Ownership and Better Service from HONDA. This is what you get from Giant Japanese Manufacturer. Back to topic. Mr. Rohit, You should fight for the Replacement of tyre with the Dealer. Tyres are covered in warranty. Even if you by aftermarket tyres, they come with warranty (Some Exceptions excluded). Take the matter to the honda officials at http://www.hondacarindia.com/about/contact.aspx If you dont get positive response, contact Consumer Forum. BTW how the bulge occurred? Did you drive over some bad roads or over some pointed object? "HONDA IS HONDA. NAAM BIKTA HAI". This is what you get if you go for NAAM. sudeepd2009-04-13 09:32:53
  21. I know Verna CRDi is generations ahead of the XL. But while buying XL' date=' we looked the features (Handsfree Kit with Nokia 6230i, Rear AC Vents, Nippon DVD Player with Two LCD Screens, Alloys Wheels, etc.) apart from DiCOR Engine and Resale Value. And we are satisfied with the service we got from it. Save for some problems which were sorted out under warranty and the noisy Engine and Poor Resale Value. But the Rear Legroom is tremendous. In fact a person can sit on the floor behind the front seats comfortably. OK Then Have A Look at this topic http://www.autocarindia.com/new/autocar_forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4203 I know this topic has the prices of Accessories Only. But from that you can imagine the Spare Parts Price of ANHC. you are Always Welcome. If we buy a car in near future (since the Loan of our XL has ended this month), I would advise my Dad to buy a Linea (My Dad does not go out of my word in buying cars. My Dad wanted to buy Verna instead of XL but I forced him to buy XL). HONDA SHOULD BE REMINDED THAT THEIR CARS, THE SPARE PARTS, AND THE ACCESSORIES ARE PRICED WAY TOO HIGH. The Alloys of ANHC cost 47-56K depending on Location of Dealer. The Alloys of Linea cost 10.5K. Both set of 4 Alloys. sudeepd2009-04-13 09:16:59
  22. I would recommend Linea. It may not be as fuel efficient as ANHC, but more features definitely. I would say if you want Resale Value to be more then go and buy Skoda. It will fetch you more resale value but after making you BANKRUPT. Only Resale Value is not everything in life. If I had thought about Resale Value, I would not have bought Indigo XL DiCOR in may 2007 but Verna CRDi. What is the guarantee that ANHC will fetch you more Resale than Linea? OK for that matter we agree that ANHC gets more Resale than Linea, but what if you get more resale value after spending HALF OF YOUR BANK BALANCE ON BUYING AND MAINTAINING ANHC before you sell it after 4 years. If I were you, I would have gone for Linea.
