Hi there again, Can anyone please tell me how much slackness should be kept for Bajaj Pulsar 180DTSi (LCD Speedo) and how to measure it(Should it be measured just by moving the chain up and down and measuring that distance)? How to find out the air-fuel ratio is correctly set or not? How much turns should the air-fuel ratio screw be turned anticlockwise after fully tightening the screw for proper combustion (i.e how to set the air-fuel ratio of 14:1)? Please answer soon. Bye.
  2. Hi there, I POSTED FOLLOWING QUERY LAST WEEK. I purchased a Pulsar 180 DTS-i on 13 February 2007. The bike is equipped with Digital meters (Speedo, Odo and Trip). Currently the Odometer shows 4280kms. I am facing problems while shifting the gears. The gears dont engage smoothly. While shifting gears (both upshifting and downshifting) the gearbox makes noise as if I am shifting the gears without depressing the clutch. Infact I shift the gears depressing the clutch fully. I changed the Engine Oil myself at 500kms (Used MAK 4T Plus), 2000kms (Used MAK 4T Plus) and 4000kms (Used Castrol Power1). I adjusted the clutch and chain but in vain. I showed to the dealer but after talking to him, I realized that he doesnt even possess as much knowledge as I (he doesnt know that, since Pulsar180 is launched, it possess 1-down 4-up gear-shift pattern. He said that old 180s suffered from shifting noise thanks to all-down shift pattern. I corrected him, 180 always had 1-down 4-up pattern. Can anyone please tell me whats wrong with my Pulsar? NOW THIS IS NEWLY ADDED PART=> I have tried everything(i.e., clutch adjust, chain slack adjust,etc.) but still the Pulsar suffers from poor gear shifting. I even took test ride of the Pulsar 180 at the dealer. It doesnt suffer from poor gearshifting. When I asked the service head at the service workshop about this, he said the company (BAL) used different parts in the bike which I test rode. I asked him "I test rode the model similar to which I purchased (Digital Speedo,etc.) at the showroom, THAT MODEL AND MY PULSAR ARE MANUFACTURED BY THE SAME COMPANY, USING SAME PROCEDURE, ON THE SAME MACHINES, AT THE SAME PLANT, then why only My Pulsar suffers from poor gearshift?" He was unable to answer to this question. CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT? SHOULD I ASK FOR JUSTICE IN THE CUSTOMER COURT?

    Hi there, Tyres should be changed when there is 1.6 mm or less tread depth. But from safety point of view, they should be replaced when the tread depth is 2 mm or less.
