  1. Well said sgiitk: I was planning to buy a maruti as a second car...but not any more.......
  2. here is a list of host of customer complaints from people highly unsatisfied with maruti and its dealer network.... http://www.consumercomplaints.in/complaints/maruti-swift-dzire-c42203.html
  3. This is great, suddenly I am reminded of 1990s when we had to wait for a Padmini Premier for 9 months after submitting complete documents and making full payment in form of a bank draft.......
  4. Got an M800 from my dad on my B'day....The first car I bought for myself ...Fiat Palio NV
  5. Clic on Box next to topics. Select option Show oldest post first.....you would be able to see the pics Cheers
  6. Looks much bigger thant the earlier version......does it seat 4 ppl......hope I am not expectin too much....
  7. Ok ....I will make your life simple.....go ..sit inside the car...and see which car makes you feel good.....and makes you want to drive more than the other .....Dont look into the technicals and figures....they are always one up from the other....... Every car is made of metal....so chose the one that has more of what you want your car to do for you....and the rest is compromise....
  8. On the road everyone has to show that my car is faster than yours.... people get into arguments bacause of this.....I think we indians suffer from this syndrome...thats called ....mine is bigger than yours...... ...this syndrom kicks in every time we get behind the wheel ...and boy it kicks in harder if we have a girl sitting next to us.......
  9. Welcome to the forum Fulcrum, I am sure you will be able to benefit from the expertise of current and future forum members. Regarding your question on what to choose from between Indica Vista and Maruti Swift Diesel. Essentially both the cars happen to have the same powerhouse, i.e. Fiat Multijet engines.. but since you travel a lot and considering your hight suggesting Swift to you will not be a good iption as I find swift not so comfortable in long drives, with no offence to Swift fans but Swift sucks when it comes to long drives, I learnt it hard way when I had to dricve the car for entire day on NH 1. Had t orest my back for one full day when came back home. Indica on the other hand is much more comfortable in long run... Now it boils down to which brand you prefer..... if you like Tata.....go for indica...if you like maruti go for Swift..... Remember....its not about you have to drive a car.....its about you want to drive a car. All the best Cheers.
  10. To most of the international car manufacturers countries like India are like dumping grounds....they creat a car.....sell it in so called first world countries......and when the product completes its life in that market and the technology has become obsolete, the company sells this old technology to their so called JVs in Indian or similar market....and charge the customers a hefty price for the so called latest tech...... And now we haqve a gread game going on....sale Fiat Multijet engine in Indica, Palio and Swift.......what a grea tway to cheat customers........same engine under different names.....great
  11. Taking the discussion further just take a look what is being offered by International car companies across UK and US markets.... Ford: UK : http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/all_cars/-/-/-/-/-/- US : http://www.ford.com/vehicles/vehicle-showroom#/ford Hyundai:: UK : http://www.hyundai.co.uk/newCars/ US : http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/lineup/type.aspx Fiat UK : http://www.fiat.co.uk/Showroom/ US: http://www.fiat.com/cgi-bin/pbrand.dll/FIAT_COM/home.jsp Honda UK :http://www.honda.co.uk/car/ US: http://automobiles.honda.com/ Toyota UK: http://www.toyota.co.uk/cgi-bin/toyota/bv/frame_start.jsp?id=homepage US:http://www.toyota.com/ Just try and figure out how many of these models are available in India...... but, when I look at the used car sections .....almost every model sold in India is available......
  12. Here is the answer to your great observation....your big brother bullies you in your house....does this give your neighbour rights to bully as well.....
  13. its not about the quality and the price only......Indians are offered cars that have been selling in other countries years may be decades back.....for example...Toyota qualis....was being sold in South African markets for more than 13 yrs when it came to India.....but Why go back in history.. we have one latest example.....Fiat Liena......Launched in Istanbul in 2006.....and now its being pushed to India as next generation Fiat Car....
  14. Do I have and option of saying : NONE.......
  15. Fabia being 1400 cc engines, clearly will have better fuel economy than Fusion, but Fusion is more of a drivers car. Fabia comes loaded with much more goodies than Fusion in its interiors - like Fusion does not have ABS or airbags, so that makes the Fusion cheaper too. Fabia has a low ground clearance that makes it good for driving only in good city roads, whereas Fusion is very tall and more rugged there. If your driving is more highway and less city, go for Fusion If it is less highway use and more city - then go for Fabia.
  16. Indian customers are being taken for ride by many international car makers. Just think entry level cars in US and UK are being pitched as luxury and Super luxury segment cars to Indian customers. Not only that some basic features of car safety are overhyped and made a part of luxury segment.... I remember the days when even seat belts being present in a car was overhyped ..not only by International but also by indian car manufacturers....its only when Hnr. Supream Court made it mandatory to have seat belts in all cars ..they became a standard equipment....
  17. Yes we dont do Moto GP on our roads...but indian roads do offer great experience in dirt biking.......indian roads can give dirt bike trackes a run for their money..... I understand that you belong to that part of country where head is considered of less value than coconut ........and helmet is considered a waste of money ....and trafic rules are considered as conspiracy..... wearing a helmet while driving is just like..having a condome even if you don't need it... rather than not having one when you need it......
  18. I think thats why we are having Reg Certificates as smart cards now....they plan to store such information on them and provide smart card readers to cops........ This reminds me that I have not been stopped in last 2 yrs by any cop in NCR to check my documents....funny...
  19. To wear or not to wear...this is the question one needs to ask himself...if you value your hairstyle more than your head ...please don't wear the stupid plastic head on your head....... .....No one and I mean no one and that includes Hnr.Supream Court of India can make you realize value of your life......
  20. Hi All, Thanks for the inputs guys. I finally went ahead with Goodyear 175-70-R13 83T Tubeless. The ride and handling seems perfect...and the steering wheel feels softer than before. I will post an update after I have driven the car for around 500 KM. Thanks again.
