  1. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

Its not 1 person, its a whole bunch of people with extensive experience in the automobile industry and with data collected over years, your argument is totally futile here and not based on any logic, Indian customers have relatively short duration of exposure to the international automotive world. Stop arguing just for the sake of it. Provide something constructive rather than subjective emotion charged nonsense and then the post will make sense.
  2. Long Term Ownership Reviews

You may not care what you think but we know where your perceptions and true motives lie, harryccc and others here know it quite well. TCS is not the authority in automotive ratings last time I checked, it was JD Powers and it says otherwise and lastly, Innova is a global product. If you cared to read the Scorpio test on the Aus mag, you will see the true respect for Toyota in every sense there, mind you, Toyota is Asian as well so equal prejudices apply. Don't start this as a Toyota bashing thread here as you will loose big time, I will gladly and willingly wipe the floor with the Scorpio. When it comes to poor quality, Scorpio is the ideal definition. When it comes to poor perception, Mahindra rules.
  3. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

I am not talking about sales figures, I am talking about various authorities giving their verdict after extensive testing and data collection as well as long term extensive test like no other. Personal choice is not the indicator of quality in true scientific sense. Highly subjective which is fine, just not the norm.
  4. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

Very poor perception, going by the number of registered cars of over 10 years of age in US and the resale value index, its the Toyota and Honda that dominate the chart. A VW disintegrates in a matter of few years and the resale value reflects that well. So the reliability and quality tag given by various magazines and research outfits is totally insignificant, un-scientific assessment based purely on hearsay and flawed perception is just fine.Gurkha2008-01-08 06:04:59
  5. Long Term Ownership Reviews

Overall Toyota wins. Even in India, JD Powers rates it as the most reliable MUV. Scorpio and Safari don't even feature in that. Its normal to see a rock solid high mileage Innova, in case of Scorpio and Safari, that would be a divine miracle. Seems like you started this thread with the only intention of making your pet Scorpio look superior to Innova but guess what, general consensus says otherwise so you are definitely in a minority here.
  6. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

The preference for Skoda only comes from the Diesel factor, same is the case with Indica.
  7. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

I can understand that with Lexus but not with Skoda.
  8. Insurance Queries!!!

Thanks Rugs, long time no see. You can start with a general guidelines about various policies and what to expect or not to expect from them.
  9. Toyotas Concept hyb truck!!

The same applies to you' date=' mate. Make her your good friend and ogle (if you want to) at her from 50 ft away. [/quote'] Nope.........I am stealing her from you for sure so you better hide her.
  10. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

Only people here in India buy Skoda over Corolla because of the diesel factor and nothing else. Its certainly not due to its pedigree in any sense or the hyped build quality. As for changing cars every four years, in US people change in three years and still put their money of Toyota and Honda. If it was not for the diesel factor and the fact that India is still a young market where perceptions of long term ownership and resale value is yet to be formed. Thank the Gods that some of us here in India don't go for hype, idol worship and hearsay to base their decisions to purchase a car.
  11. Toyota Yaris Sedan ( VIOS)

Now the fun begins, from mediocre hypes, we get true internationally tested prodcuts, bravo.
  12. Toyota Yaris

Fantastic, this is the vehicle worth hyping for, has met with good success in US.

  17. Whither mopeds in our 2 wheeler market?

On my last visit to south last year, I saw quite a few of them on highways and cities like Coimbatore etc. so I guess they are still popular with a certain segment.
  18. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

By the way, Jeremy Clarkson is still quite fair when it comes to journalism, he has the pulse of the enthusiast, not just blind idolators.
  19. Toyotas Concept hyb truck!!

If I get to own a A Bat, I will gladly kiss it all over.
  20. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

The Getz was mentioned as a costly hatch in comparison to the even costlier Fabia hatch, the Swift comparison to Getz was bought in by you and therefore the reply. The Getz is the right comparison to the Fabia and the market perception to a hatch being marketed in the price range of a regular sedan.
  21. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

If you think Getz has Turbo lag, wait till you drive a 911 Porsche...........nothing happens for seconds and then all 350bhp of hell is unleashed in a rear engine rear heavy vehicle all of a sudden but that never did make it unpopular in any sense. I still fill Getz CRDi is an excellent compromise for those looking for performance with diesel economy. Pity neither the hatch nor the sports car market got to realize that. Getz needs the look near-abouts Swift to sell itself and the price factor also has to come down. That was my original point, no one is willing to pay upward of 6L for a hatch, no matter how good it is.
  22. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2005-06-29-power-dependability-chart.htm How the auto brands rank (problems per 100 vehicles INDUSTRY AVG 237 Volkswagen 335 Need I say more...........
  23. Skoda Fabia...is very pricey..ya!

Raj, Agreed on all points but the fact remains, Swift petrol feels wheezy when compared to Getz diesel, on highways, the Getz blows away all including Palio S and only City VTEC manages to edge past it. On top of that it returns frugal diesel economy so its quite a good high performance value.
