Btw, Honda designs their cars low and will not compromise and raise their height, its the price you pay but it returns far superior handling as compared to cars that have been tweaked for India. Toyota foolisly modified it and used tubed tires and the result was a thumbs down from many who found its handling totally lacking.

Indeed.........sorry for that, I would stay off tuning boxes unless they are done specifically by reputed companies or the auto company's racing division. The key word here is testing and track time along with internal knowledge and R&D. Most of the big tuners have info from the manufacturer not available to ordinary run of the mill tuners especially from out part of the world. So big names like TRD, HKS, Brabus, AMG, Kremer, Millen etc. are the ones to look for.

Indeed but will offer you that much as well but then you are better off waiting for the Accord diesel which I promise will set the automotive world on fire here.

If you want the Laura which I would plead you not to, wait for the VW Passat which is better finished and equipped.

I vote for Civic, take the plunge
  7. Can you give me details on the restoration, also best place to ask would be http://www.clubrpm.co.in/ where many real enthusiasts own RD350 in various stage of mod.
  8. First of all, I ain't your Yaar....... we are just forum members here and should address each other accordingly. Secondly you alleged that I mentioned Toyota so I replied to that remark.

Corolla is cheaper than a Civic here in Punjab at least. After the launch of Civic, the Corolla sales faltered greatly. Said and done, the Civic is one of the best looking car on Indian roads today.
  10. Even with radio link, most cops across the globe are on high powered 750cc bikes. The reason is LoS, ever cop will tell you that. If you loose LoS, even with radio link, its hard to track down criminals. Now that India is gearing up for its fair share of highways, high speed pursuit will soon become a reality, sooner than you can imagine.
  11. Where did I bring in Toyota?, I compared the Safari to Scorpio and gave my opinion. Are you now imagining things? See how Scorpio is clouding your brain. This is what I said. " Having said all that, my reward goes to Safari, better ride, space, refinement and engine." Where is Toyota in this statement pray tell me?
  12. Where am I getting furious? Innova is not my darling in any sense. Its comparatively a better offering in the MUV class than whats available for choice here in India. Its far superior in every sense than Mahindra's offering. Its also a Toyota, that name is enough to denote it's pedigree. According to your PM, you don't care how the rest of the world assesses automobiles but guess what, once doesn't climb up the ladder of success in this highly competitive automotive world and stay there with consistency unless one has some serious quality and R&D to back it up. Toyota and Honda has shown that kind of consistency, they even managed to dethrone the previous champ of quality automobiles, namely the Germans and have managed to stay ahead of them. You wrote Autocar testers are more experienced and unbiased than us in your previous thread because they sided with your apple of eye namely Scorpio and I totally beg to differ with that. I will repeat, you don't know anyone of us here intimately to even know what some of us have been through.
  13. Bring back the RD400, the only bike capable of catching all the cars like Accord, C class, BMW. The Pulsar and Karizma as well as Bullet does not have necessary power or handling to catch most of the vehicles out on road today.
  14. Autocar India testers are same persons like us, they have their biases and prejudices. You don't know anyone of us here that intimately to pass such a broad based judgement just because we dont' side with your darling Scorpio. Are you aware about every member here? Or their exposure to the auto industry or experience? Just because we don't work or write for Autocar doesn't make us lacking experience or knowledge or balanced perspective. Having said all that, my reward goes to Safari, better ride, space, refinement and engine.
  15. The Emberra is FWD and with noisy engine its nowhere in league with MB.

Same case, Honda sells itself, check the resale and you will know.
  17. Don't accept it, accept the industry norm, no Scorpio engine has reliabilty like Toyota in any case and neither does Mahindra. Are you aware that unlike the venerable Gypsy in the military, the MM550 has to be phased out much earlier, usually under 60,000km due to severe reliability issues faced by the military. From failed engines to busted differentials. In extreme conditions till today, the ancient relic Jonga is being used along with the Gypsy which was never meant for any kind of military duty.
  18. Your experience is defintely not the norm, not is it the industry standard in any way and in terms of refinement, the ancient Perkins based CRDE has a long way to go over Daihatsu built Toyota D4. The Safari is better in terms of complete package, ride, space look etc, both are unreliable so that factor notwithstanding. There is nothing to agree about Scoprio engine's reliability except for your adamant argument in this issue. Facts speak otherwise.
  19. If you mean powerful engine, thats not the criteria for better, in that logic Safari 2.2 rules. In terms of reliable long life engine, its the Toyota, no other.
  20. Toyota engines are reliable period, Mahindra engines are not. This is not up to personal experience, this is industry trend and fact. Suggest you get down and dirty and visit wholesale motor mech place and ask the mechanics about reliable engine, you would see the consensus being OM616 on the Trax and Toyota's Qualis and Innova. Industry trends also indicate the same. As for Scorpio being better than land Cruiser for Rs.10L, your logic is now clear to the entire forum. Its the most ludicrous statement I have heard so far. Its not about price, its not about pick up, its about reputation and Toyota is in different league alltogether than Mahindra, agree or not.
