  1. Well i've been going thru a lot of reading on the two cars. I see that most Ford customers have had very bad experiences with their delears and most talked about problems with ford relate to the engine. That's like putting your heart at risk!!! Most Palio owners have issues with spare parts and are speculative about the tata servicing their vehicles, but this needs to be time tested. The good part is atleast you know its worth what you pay for, I can bear problems that are more human related than my car related
  2. By the way i found these links that could be useful in comparing the engines. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JTD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratorq_engine You can also see which brands trust which engine.
  3. Hi guys, I am looking for a place in Bangalore to modify my Bullet Electra's seats. Basically i need to bring down the seat by few inches or replace it to a lower one. Anyone know a good place for that. If you know the price too it will be of great help. - Cheers!
  4. Hi guys! thanks a ton for your time. Am shocked to hear that a remote boot lid is not a standard feature in FORD????? Waiting to gets a hands on exp with both the cars.
  5. By the way these prices are as on October 2008 onwards.
  6. I did manage to get the price list for palio from another forum. Now am looking for the Ford. I believe the Ikon 1.4 is giving introductory price discount which comes to 6.2Lakhs on Road in Bangalore and Palio is 5.8Lakhs. With the auto industry in such a turmoil am not sure if this is a marketing gimick coz speculators say the prices are bound to come down. 7. Hey Cat, am not worried about the categories. I've had 2 cars before and am quite knowledgeable about cars. I just haven't had a chance to test drive these since am out of the country right now. I am Christopher Columbus on wheels and yeah! boot space does matter but thats not the end of it. My primary concern is spares and cost of ownership of the car and the performance between the two engines.
  8. Has anyone test driven the new ford Ikno 1.4D and Fiat Stilo 1.3D? I am looking for feedback from people to help me decide b/w these two. The parameters are on the engine performance and spares and services costs. Appreciate if owners of these two cars can provide price details on any replacement of parts they've had.
  9. Hi, I just happened to see your mesg by accident. I was planning to go in for the fiat 1.3 multijet until i bumped into this article of Ford launching Ikon with 1.4 diesel. Since you've has both the cars, could you tell exactly what were the differences like and if possible a statistics of how much you have spent on each and spares cost that you have incurred? This is really going to help me decide as i see these two as my only choices. Thanks!
