  1. I am using HSD in my swift and I have clocked nearly 20K kms. No smoke and no issues I have noticed. Engine is quite refined and fine going.There is no reason why some dealers are misguiding customers this dealer here says u cannot use synthetic oil for diesel engines and for petrol its advisable and u can change oil once in 40k kms! Sounds great but it will not work. So don believe ur dealers words fully and keep in touch with ppl who use it regularly..

  4. Different grades are used by auto manufactures. Outer sheets are CRCA where as door hinges are some times made with GI.BS 1449 is one such grade. Thickness of the sheets will range from .8 to 2.5 mm. So the combination will go from bare min of 1.6mm to 5 mm in joineries. Normally thinner sheets are used in outer skin panels and thicker sheets are used in Under body, and other reinf areas. Thinner sheets facilitates easy repair so they are used in exterior areas.

  8. I feel these performance kits can be fitted only with experiece and not just like an add on fitments. This needs some hands on experience with vehicle as well as with the kit. So with out this, it will certainly affect the performance of the vehicle. So think twice before you invest in such kits.

  11. My first vehicle (of course a 2 wheeler) was a TVS XL Super in my school days.This was gifted by my mother on the eve of Millenium(2000) ie exactly at Midnight 12. The keys were handed over at 12 in show room. This was a special request from my mother which was agreed by the dealer and he told it was a different experience for them too. Next was a TVS Fiero. This was the first vehicle in my town and delivery was taken into records of the company. Now I am driving Swift. But before that my driving started with Amby's, Fiat which was there in my home when I was young and later replaced with 800.
  12. even i am not clear of any privately owned Dyno testing facility in india as its a very costly equipment. It gives a collective details of the vehicle in a single go. It gives Specific Fuel Consumption, Max torque, power, deceleration curve etc. In AshokLeyland we call this as Roller Test Bench where in we test the complete vehicle dynamic performance including the above mentioned parameters. The vehicle can be accelerated upto 120KM in stand by condition and brought back to Zero.This test completely eliminated the actual road test of the vehicle.
  13. good that you have got your car without waxing. One of my friend is a Works Manager in Maruti ASC. He added saying that most of his reveneus are got only from value added services like waxing, polishing, Under body coating etc. So its purely a Jimic and dont encourage such things with them.

Bring products to fit in all areas HM/Mitsubishi - are you there? I could say there will be no specific anti corrosion treatment but normal CED Process (which is a Pre Treatment process) with additional seam sealer applied at the panel joineries.But anyways the life of treatment will be measured interms of SST (Salt Spray Test) as number of hours may be 2000 or 2500 hrs. So it may meet the normal requirements of Indian conditions but for highly corrosive areas. I may also suggest you to go for treatment of the surface if your panels underwent tinkering work upto bare metal, since the coating would have been removed due to this activities.
  17. @BS: thanks. Its really a total different story while driving heavy vehicles.And these 49 tonners are real macho machines to drive. AMW gets its cabs from FAW - China, engines from Cummins, Axles from Meritor and gear boxes from ZF.They assemble and sell them. And they make profits with least overheads. They dont have manufacturing expertise in any aggregates except wheels. ALL is doing very good in bus segment and even this year they maintained their leadership with over 50% market share.They are the prefered products with STU's and fleet owners for decades. The problem with ALL is they are not present in all the segments of CV industry. Their product range starts from 7.5 tonn GVW were as TML has from 1 ton.Strictly speaking ALL's products are well received only M&HCV segment ie from 16.2 ton to 49 ton. In this segment alone if you could see the share it will be around 60:40 excluding passenger segment. @sudan: I understand but I felt this will help our forum to have a cumalative coverage in all the areas.
  18. There are so many threads related to buying and owning of cars. But found a vaccum space related to commercial Vehicles. So just started one. This industry is very challenging unlike car industry. The extent of reliability, durability the vehicles offer are very high and are sometimes higher than what they are intended to give. The amount of abuse the vehicles are subjected to is definetely far ahead even to the imagination of design engineer. They never protest aganist that ,live happily for about a million kms atleast and disappear eventually. Still in India the Commercial Vehicle Segment is dominated by home grown biggies like Tata Motors and Askokleyland. Its only a pie of market share is with International Giants like Volvo,Mercedes Benz etc. So do post your views and thoughts relating to comercial vehicles in India and abroad.How do u like to see this industry in future? and other facts and figures related to CV's.
  19. sorry naveen was bit busy in worek. Interior lamps installing s very easy.Its jus a direct replacement of existing lamp with this one.easy I have done this one guy in blore in lalbagh road.Cost aroud Rs.250/-. As of now I dont have pics of interior lighting. Will try doing for u in a shorter time.
  20. I have changed the interior bulb to blue colour.Its neither LED nor neon its jus a replacement of original with blue cloured one. They look very cool during night especially when u remote open the car and they glow instantly. wrt underbody I have gone with LED but u need to take care on them while u give for service as well as during normal water splash during driving. Fixed them in idea about online shopping.
  21. its not a bad idea to invest in a car vaccum cleaner.Since the input is 12V they are normally underpowered.They do not harm ur battery since the sockets are designed for the use.If u still suspect the life of battery use it while the engine is running.They are very handy while cleaning ur car.
