  1. I hope that Grill is optional. I have never liked those body coloured grills. Alloys are same as that of the City. But i like the Enkei Alloys sold by Honda. It's price was around 50k earlier but it has been reduced to around 20k recently.
  2. If you want to buy a diesel hatchback then go for Figo. If you are looking for a diesel sedan i would suggest Vento Diesel. Go for a diesel car only if your monthly running is atleast 1200 kms.
  3. I would suggest you to go for a BMW 320 CE. It's a good driver's car and is well priced. For your 2nd car you can also consider a SUV(new or used) since you are fond of SUVs. I like the Audi Q5.
  4. @ garg.vineet : Good decision. Even i would suggest Sportz variant as rear wiper and defogger are useful features and you also get the well integrated music system
  5. I opted for oil change in 2nd service which was at 3months/5000km.
  6. Fabia is too old and i am not much impressed by the Polo either. You can wait for Punto Sport which will have better performance. Figo is a very good car and i feel it is the most vfm diesel hatchback right now. i20 has better performance and you can go for it if the price is not a problem. I would suggest i20 Asta.
  7. I know i am late but nevertheless Congrats sir. Civic is an amazing car and it will be very reliable in the long run too.
  8. @ mac and rahul : Yes they did change the oil. Service cost inclusive of oil change. Toyota is even better in this aspect, Our Altis has done 20,000 kms in 21 months and total service cost till now is Rs.2900(1300 for 2nd and 1600 for 3rd). @ anjan and vr.46 : I shall upload some pics within few days. I don't mind the low sales as it makes it exclusive. Regarding the price and vfm factor i will express my views soon when i upload some pics. @ sgiitk : Sir they did change the oil. I opted for Mineral Oil. tanmay872010-06-26 10:31:36
  9. @ kinshuk : I got my second service at 10,000 kms which was around 14 months from the date of purchase. @ goenkaushal : Yes the difference was around Rs.360. I will look at the break up and let you know. The dealer said that synthetic oil is used only for Landcruiser(among toyota cars).
  10. @ rahul : Yes i agree it is overpriced by around 50k but was the best overall petrol hatchback for us. Got done with the 2nd service few days back. Total cost came to be around Rs.1100.
  11. @ mods : Logged in today after many days and i see that the other posts in this topic are missing. Why were they removed?
  12. Update on my Altis : Done with the 3rd service(20,000 kms free service) few days back. It costed Rs. 1660 including taxes. My Altis has covered 19,600 kms in 21 months. Total Cost of Service till now is Rs.2960(1300 for 2nd service).
  13. I would suggest you to go for 3 series corporate edition. It is a good driver's car and it is close to your budget. But you may not like the ground clearance. As rssh said you can also consider Freelander 2.
  14. I don't see much takers for Micra especially when the likes of Figo and Beat are doing well. According to Motobeam, bookings for Micra start today.
  15. Thanks BF. I only got 10k discount after some pushing. The problem is Honda is not giving any discount, the discount is being given by the dealers and the dealer here was not giving any discount. Additional 10k discount was available in December though. There is only one dealer in the entire State(Orissa).
  16. We started looking for a hatchback last november. Our Altis was too big for city use and Matiz was showing it's age. It was to be mostly used for city purpose and occasional highway trips. We were looking for a petrol car as our monthly running would be around 600-800 kms. We checked out most of the hatchbacks in the price range of 5-8 lacs and i even started a thread in AAA section. My father loved the Jazz from day one and i also liked the car.But it was overpriced and we felt it may not be a wise buy. Ultimately we bought the Jazz beacuse we felt it was the best petrol hatchback and it would be very reliable in the long run(our previous experience with Honda was very good). Likes : 1) Looks. It looks cute from the front, side and rear profile give it a big car look. 2) Interiors are simply awesome(both in terms of styling and quality). 3) Typical Honda Refinement. 4) Performance is good once the car crossed 2500 revs. 5) Quite spacious for a hatchback and boot space is good too. 6) Very comfortable to drive especially in city(my father loves it). 7) Plenty of storage spaces. 8) Good FE. 9) Gearshift is a delight to use. 10) 2+2 years warranty, 4 years free roadside assistance. Engine coolant has a life span of 2 lac kms, iridium spark plugs has a life of 1 lac kms and wiper blades are double durable. Dislikes 1) Lot of essential features missing like alloys, seat height adjust. The features i miss the most are electrically folding mirrors and front armrest. 2) Midrange performance. 3) Low speed ride could have been better. 4) Either the price should have been lower by around 50 k or the 1.5 L engine from City should have been there at the same price. Here are the pics : </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> </a> The above pic reminded me of this old pic of our white city: </a> </a> </a> </a> tanmay872010-02-06 13:56:02
  17. From your post i think you are considering Punto 1.2 Active . Beat is a better car than Punto 1.2 which feels underpowered and doesn't have much features either. Beat is a very good car with no major flaw and engine is very refined especially at idle.
  18. @ rangc : Your Punto looks great and now i am considering painting the wheels of my white Jazz. @ drnishu : I have a pic of the interiors of Punto Active. Here it is :
  19. The price difference between 'E' and 'S' variant is around 47k with a few essential features missing like music system(and speakers),steering mounted audio conrols and keyless entry among others. So it makes more sense to go for 'S' variant instead.
  20. I am very happy to see that Beat has got a good initial response and hopefully it will turn out to be one of the best selling hatchbacks. I did check out the Beat and almost bought it. It's a very good car with no major flaw.It looks great, has the best in class interiors, refined engine and good legroom. The best part is the pricing which is spot on.
  21. I feel i10 1.1 era will be the best option for you. It is a good car for city use and will be spacious too.
  22. @ DD : Resale value was never a factor as we intend to keep it for around 7-8 years and as you said it does have exclusivity. Our previous experience with Honda was very good and i am sure Jazz would be very reliable in the long run. @ asethi : May be, you never know. But i feel none of the premium hatches i.e. i20,punto,jazz,fabia will have good resale value as compared to the likes of swift and i10. @ BF : I don't think it will be a problem as the A.C. is pretty good. tanmay872010-01-29 05:08:46
  23. Skoda have already messed up with the Fabia. Only thing they can do is revise the prices and name it as a new variant. Fabia does need a new engine though.
  24. Thanks hrmanju. @ DD : Good to hear that but i don't think it will have good resale value here(even though it is a Honda) as sales have been disappointing.
  25. Thanks rahul, many of my relatives and friends were surprised when we bought the Jazz but after seeing the car(especially the interiors) they love it.
