Premium diesels are only regular diesel with cleaning agents added, which a CRDI engine does not need because the injection pressures are in the order of > 1400 bar, which is self-cleaning by itself.
As a rough comparision, the pressure washers used to clean the underbody of cars usually operate at around 100 bar.
Further, the compatibility of the seals used in the fuel system with the additives in premium diesels is in doubt.
However, as an upside, the premium diesels usually have higner Cetane ratings, which leads to more even combustion.
To play it safe, I use only regular diesel, and have noticed no ill effects till now.
