  3. As a follow-up to my earlier post, Mobil 1 0W-40 and Mobil Synt S 5W-40 are both approved for the Tata Indica Vistas with the Quadrajet/Safire engines, to be changed at 20000 kms or 1 year, whichever is earlier.

Premium diesels are only regular diesel with cleaning agents added, which a CRDI engine does not need because the injection pressures are in the order of > 1400 bar, which is self-cleaning by itself. As a rough comparision, the pressure washers used to clean the underbody of cars usually operate at around 100 bar. Further, the compatibility of the seals used in the fuel system with the additives in premium diesels is in doubt. However, as an upside, the premium diesels usually have higner Cetane ratings, which leads to more even combustion. To play it safe, I use only regular diesel, and have noticed no ill effects till now. Regards, Umesh
  5. Mobil Delvac 1 is one of the best engine oils put there, but availability is a problem. Mobil Delvac MX 15W-40 is another good choice, since it meets one of the strictest norms in the world, Volvo VDS-3, as also ACEA B4/E7. Hope this helps. Umesh
  6. In the Multijet 1.3, the increase in engine speed when the A/c is switched on is not discernible, since the ECU compensates for the load such that the engine speed remains almost the same
  7. When the A/c compressor is switched off, the fans also stop working, hence the vibration is felt only with the A/c on.

  9. This is not a problem, it is just that the dual cooling fans are running at their higher speed to bring down the temperature
