  1. thanks @rssh.....Other please share your views....it is very important ...as the rumours are ....GP Disel punto may get an upward escalation in the range of 10-15K
  2. Thanks @Rssh...Any news (forecast) about tax/excise hike on automobiles in new budget. It will hit all new cares then....
  3. Ok Guys ....I don't know if this Forum is still active...guys i needs your help on deciding the booking date as I am planning to book Grande Punto in Delhi and the sales guy told me that book before 1st July as the prices of the car are expected to increase in july'09 budget of congress. Does any one have info abt the same?
  4. Hi Nimesh, Few Quick questions.... 1. How are the interiors of GP (Ep+)as compared to punto (E+) 2. How is sound system quality and Blue&Me (Are u happy?) 3. Rear Leg space of punto (everyone cribbing).. VC
  5. Thanks@5u3zEr0....... Hey @rssh.......now way think of OTR price > 7 Lacs.....wait and be ready for the surprises.....rumours are that E+ Diesel car will be priced in the range of 5.5 - 6 lacs (Max).....So I think it will be a steal if OTR of E+ Diesel will be less than 6 Lacs.......and believe me Fiat is known for giving huge discounts and this time Fiat is damn serious with GP launch in India....colours option charts are available with dealers....training of all india dealers is over...... Fiat may kind of trying to repeate their 2005 (European) GP success story in India too.
  6. Hay Guys, I don't know how many of you have watched this "Trampoline advertisement" of Grand Punto (UK).....Simply awsome....penetrating ad...at least I m stumped and watched this ad 5 times...I simply loved it......you guys will love it too....
  7. Yes you are right guys ......Punto has reverse-lite on Left side and fog lite on the Right side of the rear bumper (exactly mirror image of European model). Hay sarash....the car is 30mm-50mm shorter in India, if you look closely....look like Fiat india guys have chiseled off 30-50mm from rear bumber....Can u notice? Secondly sarash, how is handling of Punto on rough roads (If you have driven any?) Yes@tunnu, this is one of the most important thing i m looking for.....need good in fact damn good suspension on bad indian roads... Hay ...some guys crib abt 75bhp in 1.3 FGT-MJD (Multi Jet Diesel) is less but guys I have seen M-800 with only 37Bhp zipping me at 120kmph on high ways...
  8. very true@rssh,,,,Fate of any new car in India is not decided by auto enthusiast like U and me (May be 1% of total BUYERS) but by an average indian buyer who car a damn abt power, speed and safety....and only things he talks abt is OTR price, looks, FE, ASS (economy). This is hard fact and he and thouadnds like him decide success or failure of any car in India. Fiat India has to play their cards very right this time.....
  9. I agree with you guys especially@lovemycar (Bhagat Singh) that fiat is offering us old car but few points to note: 1. Fiat still have an image of old FIAT and padmini in an average Indian mind 2. Fiat India has already burnt their hands in indian market by launching cars like Palio (Power+speed) but in india automobile dynamics are different (people looked for economy and FE on the cost of safet) and maruti sell like hot X buns 3. Fiat introduced sports models in Palio but how many buyers and how many palios you see on indian road. 4.Coming to GP, It could be average car but still selling good in europe, so not very old for indian market...by the way how old is jazz or splash world wide? by the way...spoke to noida TATA dealer....their training is over last week in Manesar and saw some great pics of GP on his mobile. As per him, they compared GP with Swift VDI and no comparison between them ......
  10. I doubt, @sParash?...Is this confirmed news ? as launch date is expe cted in October.
  11. Ok Guys now time to discuss few points abt FIAT-India......... 1. As per news that is flowing on the internet, GP would be lauched in the first week of June (For Sure). 2. Fiat India has decided to launch 1.3 FGT in diesel version....(National engine now) According to me 75BHP will not be bad as engine performance and efficiency is tuned well and GP will be lighter as compared to 3BOX linea. Fiat is heading bang on with Vista, i20 and swift, these guys have learned a lesson by launching sports Palio cars in past like 1.6 GTX/ Sports but frankly how many sports do u see on road. This time their home work is pukka, car will be produced for mass (98% and not for 1%-2% (classes - power enthusiast like us). Guys finally green ($) speaks ....FIAT India has raised from their graves and they have already shown a trailer by launching Linea (VFM under 10 lacs)..... So guys, get ready to see hordes of GPs (RED, BLUE, WHITE, BLACK, GREY) on Indian Roads.....
  12. @rssh...You ay be right ......as far as I know ...following six colours will be available ... u BOSSA NOVA WHITE<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> u BLUE METALLIC u SOLID RED u HIP HOP BLACK u MEDIUM GRAY u MINIMAL GRAY BTW, My favourite is Blue Metallic followed by RED.
  13. My views on obsrrving Fiat India Trends from last couple of years... 1. What may happen..India is developing country for Fiat, so they had initially launched Palio which is only for developing countries. 2. Similary Linea is not seen anywhere in developed countries . 3. Pali will not be discontinued at all... Fiat will keep three versions of cars primarily in India (Developing country)... 1. Palio 1.2 Petrol: Will compete with Wagon R, Spark, A-Star. bla bla. (Price Band less than 4 Lacs) 2. Grande Punto: Hatch back 1.2/1.4 Petrol and 1.3 Diesel (Price band 4.5-6 Lacs) 3. Linea: Petrol and disel version Price band (6-8 Lacs). by the way in Turkey linea starts at 4.6 lacs (INR). So i don't find any space for Bravo as Bravo if kept between 6-7 Lacs will eat away the space of Linea.
