  1. @Mahesh, thanks bro. It is always helpful to get review from someone who actually owns a car. And seeing that you are satisfied with your Duster, it'll be a factor when I finally buy..Looking forward to your review.. @Hersch: I get your point. But in my case, and I am sure that there are many ppl like me, the wider radius that the rear door needs for opening is simple inhibiting. Particulalry if the garage is small (height is not a problem) But of course, a test drive will be taken! @SStar: Yeah, I noticed, the boot space is larger in Duster. I am not sure whether this is true or not.. but on seeing the images, I think that the driver visibility will be better in Duster. I am of course, just commenting based on images.. Regarding the price, since a car is a one time buy, I gladly spend a bit more one time rather than eternally thinking - 'what if..' Overall, I am inclined more towards Duster as I somehow like the rugged-classy look you associate with an SUV. And it does help that it is roomier.. Ford on the other hand, looks a bit sleeker but I am not a fan of its front grille
  2. One more thing.. sorry for the double post. Since you have had a drive of the Ecosport, can you confirm if the rear of the Ecosport is actually smaller than Duster? Will 3 people behind be a tight fit? A number of reviews mentioned that 5 in Ecosport will be a tight fit when compared to Duster. Can you pls confirm that? Thanks
  3. Thanks for sharing the link.. read it. Of course I'll have to take a test drive of both. The rear window of the Duster looks a bit bigger.. but interior of Ecosport definately has its advantages. One issue I have is that the rear door of Ecosport opens OUTWARDS.. rather than up. This will mean that I will not be able to park the car facing the street if I have to open the rear door. I wonder why Ford went with this design. Ahh... looks like I'll have to research even deeper before making a final decision.

  5. Hi, I am looking to buy an SUV and have a budget of around 8-9 lacs. I had almost finalised buying a Duster owing to its proven performance and a number of awards but the imminent launch of Ford Ecosport has now confused me. On researching, I have found a number of pros and cons but I am not sure on which car to finalise. Here are my observations: Ford: The Ecosport boosts of an award winning petrol Ecoboost engine. But if I am getting an SUV, I should get a diesel engine, right? (My daily commute is around 40-45 km). The Ford does boast of a number of gadgets and a fresh design... Duster: Duster has a proved performance record and is capable of delivering. It has a wider rear space and more boot space (which is essential for my wife ). It has a classic and rugged look rather than the different Ford design.I have also read in a review that the diesel engine of the Duster is much better than the diesel one in Ecosport. I am a bit inclined towards buying Duster as a bigger rear space is more important to me. However, I would love to hear your suggestions / opinions and take an informed decision. Also, are the above observations correct? What other factors should I consider? Thanks.
  6. Another one: Yesterday I was at the local Wal-Mart. Now I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when I came out, there he was - a damn Motorcycle cop writing a parking ticket ... So, I went to him and said: "Come on Buddy, how about giving a guy a break?" He simply ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So, I called him a pencil necked Nazi. He then glared at me and started writing another ticket for having bad tires! So, I called him a sorry excuse for a human being. He then finished the second ticket and put it on the car with the first. Then he started to write a third ticket! This went on for about 25 minutes ... the more I abused and hurled insults at him, the more tickets he wrote ... But hey, I didn't give a damn. My car was parked around the corner ...

  8. Hi, I own a HTC one and one of the most frequent apps i use is Tasker for automating. Its a wonderful app and really showcases the features of Android eg: When I am at home, connected to Wi-Fi network, my keyguard is automatically switched off. It Switches on again after I leave home. Another profile I use is SMS my wife when I leave office automatically so that she knows I am on my way home. Its a wonderful app if you like to Automate your phone. Apaprt from Tasker, I use Unified Remote to remotely control my Laptop over a WiFi connection. @Rameshbabu, Yeah, the XDA site is pretty amazing. I had modded the hell out of my Sony X8 using the tutorials on XDA. Cheers!

  10. Hi, THanks for the awesome replies guys.. I am sure I will learn a lot here. looks like the posts have to be moderated before it is displayed. I have a couple of questions while choosing a car and I think it will be best if I post in a new thread.. and not the introductions part. Moderator, pls help.. will I be able to start a new thread in the main section? I donot want to break any rules on the first day itself Thanks.
