  1. Hi All, I have a 2008 Tata Indigo CS Tdi and it has clocked 47,000 Kms and I will be shortly needing to decide a correct tyre. I really do not want to go back to stock tyres. My current tyre profile is Bridgestone 175/65 R 14 (Tube type). Could you please suggest me a correct upsize. I was really looking at Apollo's Accelere range. I have put an Apollo on my Zen and performance vis-a-vis longevity is good, hence will look closely at Apollo. However if you could please suggest me some other manufacturers based on your experience would be useful. I have another query as well. Can I put the current Tata Indigo e-CS headlamps on my 2008 Tata Indigo CS? Cheers!
  2. Tyre Upsize for Tata Indigo CS

    Thank you dr_nishu. Much appreciated!
  3. Tata Indigo Manza CS - Tata's Silver Bullet Produc

IMHO out of Indica & Indigo the Indigo CS always looked more attractive. From the current Vista & Manza the Manza CS would probably look much better and much more proportionate. If TATA gets this car right, they have a real Winner in the Compact Sedan market. I really think India needs more of compact sedans. rugs_tachy2012-05-16 03:51:35
  4. Tyre Upsize for Tata Indigo CS

You can go for 185/60 R14 or 195/55 R14 set of tyres. Please note that as the Tyre width increases & Side profile decreases' date=' the Ride of the car will get Harsher or less comfy but one the other hand, the Steering response will get more Sharper & accurate than before. So on upsizing Choice is yours. On that note, could you please clarify, you may be aware the current body roll itself is too much, what are the after effects once the upsize is done would the body roll increase? On the looks of it, it would better to keep away from upsizing for this car then... your thoughts please? Regarding brand, Apollo & Bridgestone are meant for all type of Road usage but If your usage is restricted to Well-maintained Metalled roads only then go for YOKOHAMA or MICHELINS I stay in Bangalore and the roads out here are almost equivalent of roads in Ladhak... I know that because I had been to Ladhak last year and see almost no difference... we really have bad roads, so ride height is a concern. I had a tough time with my Zen, so sent it over to my dad. Its now in Hyderabad. Yes, why not. They use the same mounting points & basic design. But for Safety & Reliability issues, go for Genuine products only rather than going for Local-in-Market products while saving few bucks. Thank you for this. The current headlamps are really attractive hence wanted to know if I could switch. I will get them fitted from the TATA workshop guys itself. PS: The ones with higher font size is my reply/query. Thank you. rugs_tachy2012-05-16 03:43:52
  5. Tata Indigo Manza CS - Tata's Silver Bullet Produc

I am really looking forward to this car. I already liked the styling of the Indigo CS. If all the parameters like exterior, interior designs go well this will be the benchmarks for all sedans. All the best TATA!
  6. Royal Enfield TBTS 500 unveiled.

I somehow did not like the styling of the bike to my taste. But I do like the matt black engine finish with a touch of chrome in between the cooling fins. However what remains to see is that the niggling problems of the 500 that solved. I heard that the Post Sept/Oct 11 models of 500 engine all problems have been sorted out.
  7. Royal Enfield?? What is this??

What Rapper72 has now obeserved is precisely correct. It is made by Shakti Auto Garage in Jamnagar. I remember when I visited that entire belt, a saw a lot these with the Greaves engine and the gearbox from enfield. I think they are called "Khacchar" or something like that locally.... I can say this for sure that RE will never bring this in the market. However RE is trying to develop a diesel bullet just like the Taurus.
  8. 500 Kms Review of my RE Mach 500

Review of Royal Enfield (RE) Machismo 500 after 1st Service I got delivery of my RE Mach 500 on 8th Apr 09. It was handed over to me when it had clogged 8 Kms on the Odometer. I bought this machine from Royal Enfield Brandstore at Jayanagar 9th Block, Bangalore. After getting the documents, I prepared myself to start the engine
  9. I have a 2001 Zen it has just clocked 56,700 kms and one day the Air conditioning just stopped working. I checked all the gas etc and everything was fine and the service centre that I gave told me that they had to check the entire wiring. I have given it to service yesterday and they have called me just now and are telling me that the ECM (Engine Control Module's) one of the circuits would have failed because of which the A/C is not working. He also said that he swapped mine with another car and it started to work fine when swapped with another car. He is suggesting to repair it for Rs 4000 (approx) but somehow I am really confused. Could someone help me in my query. Could it really be the ECM is the question.
  10. Urgent Help: Zen AC Kaput

Thanks sgiitk sir. It seemed to be the problem with A/C circuit in ECM and got it repaired by a guy called Ramesh from Bangalore, it seems he is the only person who works on ECM and most people give it to him. It has costed me about Rs 4,200 to repair it.sgiitk2011-03-23 06:22:11
  11. Urgent Help: Zen AC Kaput

Just to clarify. When they took my ECM and put it on the other zen, the other car A/C was not working. Similarly, When they took the ECM from the other car and put it on mine, the A/C was working.
  12. 500 Kms Review of my RE Mach 500

Hi Alok. A quick thank you. I remember last visiting this site about an year ago and I wasn't able to find my thread, I think there was some server issue last year because of which old threads were not appearing. Well about my Machismo500. I have clogged around 21500 Kms and there are no issues as of now. I have done a few modifications 1) Oil Cooler : Similar to the ones we see in Pulsar 200/220,however the radiator size is different to suit the capacity. It has been 10 months since installation. After I installed I did check the oil flow in heads and everything was alright. The observations made are: a) Oil cooler is ineffective in city traffic, so its no use in the city and in the open stretches I do see the oil cooling happening. The oil change interval has gone up by 500 kms but I do change the oil every 3000kms. I checked the efficiency while did a ride from Pune to Bangalore. I rode non stop, did not even switch off the engine for first 350 Kms....and completed the ride of 920 Kms in 14 hours...the ride was awesome and the bike was running sweet. I was all through out operating the bike at speeds of 90kmph. 2) I have also installed the Goldie silencer with glasswool, but did the mistake of removing my catcon and hot tube....also blocked my PAV (Pulse Air Valve) but this has yielded in boost in power. I will not recommend removing the catcon and hot tube. Come on guys lets keep this thread alive.
  13. Hi, i own a 2007 Royal Enfield Thunderbird, the battery is totally died out..infact the thing in this is that if the battery dies down, then we just cannot start the vehicle. I was going through the options of various battery manufacturers, i have heard of amaron batteries to be good. Can anyone suggest anything better. For amaron the model no is (AP-ATX5L) for Royal Enfield Thunderbird. I currently have Exide. Although i know Exide to be good, but now i am looking for a battery which has a longer life duration (beyond 2 years). I check my battery every once a month.
  14. Battery for Royal Enfield Thunderbird

According to my information, no one other than Exide makes a 14AH battery for two wheelers in India.
  15. Battery for Royal Enfield Thunderbird

Bumped into this topic, that I had posted long back. Infact to update, the batteries for Royal Enfield have two varieties: 1) Exide Backer (Violet Color) - 12MF14L-A2 costs about Rs 1000 - 1200/- This does not have an overflow pipe. 2) Exide Bikerz (White & Red) - 12EB14L-A2 costs about Rs 2600/- This has a overflow pipe. Both the batteries are 14AH but when i asked the dealer about the difference, he told me that the second one has a heavier plating, therefore better battery life and can withstand the cranking. The first one has a warranty of 6 months while the second has a Warranty of 15 Months. PS: These batteries are suitable for all Royal Enfield Motorcycles which have an Electric Starter Only... Happy Riding!
  16. Gypsy

According to me, Gypsy is a good offroader, but if I had to pick an offroader, then I would really think of the Gurkha or the MM540! I know the price might be really high for Gurkha..but she is real beauty! butter smooth on off road patches.
