  1. Congratulations to you once again for being here with your New car. Waiting for the delivery of your car & its presence here on this thread.
  2. Gorgeous looks. Your Polo looks beautiful with gorgeous add-ons. Headlamps though quite expensive but they look simply worth the money spent & makes the car look different. What about your ownership & driving experience with this car ? Do write out comprehensive write-out at dedicated Members car ownership section.
  3. Mahindra Scorpio facelift to get upmarket interiors: Spy shots The Mahindra Scorpio SUV is going to receive a substantial styling update later this year, and the updated exterior has been spied while testing earlier, revealing tweaks to the headlights and front and rear bumpers. However, now we’ve got our hands on a new set of spy images sent by Vishnu Kallil which, for the first time, reveal the updated Scorpio’s all-new dashboard and other interior updates. A huge effort appears to have been made in moving away from the basic, utilitarian interior of the old Scorpio to a more upmarket one. Although the rather upright dashboard and tall gearlever betray its decade-old origins, the detailing is all-new and the overall colour scheme is now a restrained beige and black, with some light brown trim as well. Gone are the oval AC vents, replaced by smart-looking, chrome-lined rectangular units on a piano-black base. A prominent “Scorpio” badge now sits below the left AC vent, and there are twin gloveboxes in place of the tough grab handle previously placed ahead of the front passenger. A big screen takes centre-stage on the centre console and it’s expected to handle all infotainment duties, possibly including satellite navigation and the display for a rear-view camera. The AC knobs are also all-new and look quite similar to the ones from the XUV500; the top variants may also get automatic climate control. The new centre console looks less cluttered and much better integrated with the dashboard. A big change is that the power-window switches have now moved to the doors from the dash (which has also resulted in the grab handle being removed from the driver’s side door). The gear knob is also new and looks more premium than the square-shaped one from before. Mahindra has also added a 12v socket just beside the gear knob in the new Scorpio. The updated Scorpio’s steering wheel has been borrowed from the XUV500, and comes with a number of controls on it. There’s an all-new instrument panel as well, with twin dials in a futuristic-looking housing, and a new multi-info display sitting prominently between them. The rest of the switchgear looks carried over from the current model. The Scorpio facelift is expected to be launched later this year and you can expect it to come with a slight bump in price. -Autocar India.
  4. The Toyota Etios Cross, first showcased by Toyota at Auto Expo 2014 earlier this year, is the Japanese carmaker’s attempt to cash in on India’s love for compact SUVs and crossovers. Etios Cross is a regular Etios Liva hatchback beefed up with a rugged-looking body kit. The added body cladding imparts a serious aggressive look, and while it may look a bit over the top, it ensures that the Etios Cross doesn’t get lost in the crowd – something the Toyota Etios Liva was quite prone to. The Etios Cross gets a matte black plastic band that goes right across from its chin, to the flanks and around the rear, thereby adding muscular chunks to the car. There are also pseudo skid plates with a dull silver finish adding to the complete picture. Roof rails, a spoiler at the rear and diamond-finish 15-inch alloy wheels all add to the Etios Cross’ appeal. Additionally, the ‘Etios Cross’ badge is prominently displayed on the boot lid and looks rather good. All of these add to the dimensions of the Etios Liva and makes the Cross 120mm longer, 40mm wider and 45mm taller than the standard Liva. Weight, too, has gone up by around 20kg spec-to-spec. On the inside, you get piano black interiors and sporty seat fabric and Etios Cross badging. It also features a 2-DIN audio system with aux, Bluetooth and USB compatibility. The top variants will also get audio controls on the steering wheel, and a rear defogger and wiper. Unlike the VW Cross Polo which is offered in a single variant with a 1.2-litre diesel motor, the Etios Cross will be offered in two levels of trim and three engines to choose from; 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engines and a 1.4-litre diesel motor. The 1.5-litre petrol motor (available only on the top-spec car) produces 89bhp and concentrates more on city drivability rather than outright power. Throttle response at lower revs is good and the car feels reasonably peppy on the highway too. The 67bhp 1.4-litre diesel, on the other hand, feels more sedate and while turbo-lag isn’t much of an issue, you will miss the mid-range punch on the highways. Also, both the motors are a bit too noisy and cabin insulation doesn’t do the best job at keeping out road noise either. However, the ride is pretty absorbent and the suspension does a great job of shielding the cabin from the worst of our roads. Handling is quite decent too and the chunky steering wheel is nicely weighted but a bit slow to respond. The Toyota Etios Cross does a good job of injecting a much needed dose of style to the plain Liva hatchback. The Toyota Etios Cross is expected to command a premium of about Rs 60,000 over the regular Liva hatchback (spec-to-spec) and we think the butch looks justify this price. Also, since the Etios Cross is expected to be about Rs 75,000 cheaper than the VW Cross Polo, it will act as a good entry point to consumers looking for a macho machine. -Autocar India.
  5. I'm quoted the price of 13-inch Alloys+ Wheels, as currently its wheels are 12-inchers & i don't think there will be much enhancement in looks if i opt for 12-inch alloys alone but even then its handling will still remain the same. Atleast 155/65 R13 will suit it for an true upgrade & that will cost around the same as i quoted.
  6. Based on the strong information that Maruti Suzuki S-cross crossover is likely to come up with Peugeot sourced DV6 1.6 litre HDi Diesel engine, this fact can't be ruled that New Ciaz sedan can also come up with same 1.6litre Diesel engine shared with S-cross crossover also. Reason being Fiat sourced 1.3 litre Multijet(DDiS in Maruti Suzuki terminology) Diesel even 90PS VGT avatar seems to be too small to lug 4.5m+ sedan which even can get more worse when loaded with passengers & their luggage, whereas customers in this segment are more power hungry as competition already offers it in abundance. So to fight on competition & to make product standout in performance one can't rule out its feasibility in Ciaz. On the positive note it can give economies of scale in terms of spare parts cost if it gets implemented in more than one car even if available as CBU or CKD unit. BTW, There was also a news that Ciaz sedan is 20kgs lighter than previous SX4 sedan. So, 1.3 DDiS 90PS engine implementation this car can't be ruled out altogether as Maruti Suzuki might have worked on this driveability also for this car. As per source (Indianautosblog.com) trial production for Ciaz sedan has already been commenced at Maruti Suzuki Manesar plant. Lets wait for the final words from spy guys or we need to wait till official confirmation for this. Read more about Peugeot DV6 1.6 HDi Diesel engine at: http://forum.autocar...8#entry162488#6 **EDIT** Text addition.
  7. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross likely to come with Peugeot sourced DV6 1.6 litre HDi Diesel engine in India: Working to create out the diversity & uniqueness within product Portfolio, Maruti Suzuki likely seems to be ringing the bell of previous Diesel engine partner -Peugeot again. Based on feedback & competition, for heavy & bigger upcoming cars its most likely that Maruti Suzuki is going to source the Diesel engine from its previous partner & for upcoming S-cross crossover they're likely to be coming up with 1.6 litre HDi/DV6 Common rail diesel engine to fight the rivals like Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Ford Ecosport & others. (Pic of Peugeot DV6 1.6l HDi engine used for illustrative purpose sourced from Google search) An excerpt from source article says, Maruti Suzuki showcased the SX4 S-Cross at the 2014 Auto Expo and this vehicle will be launched in the Indian market next year. This is a proper crossover unlike the Skoda Fabia Scout and Volkswagen Cross Polo. It has been widely speculated that the new S-Cross will feature a 1.6-litre diesel engine sourced from Fiat but now it is time to kill this rumour. It has been learnt that Maruti Suzuki has been testing the SX4 S-Cross with a 1.6-litre diesel engine sourced from Peugeot. This engine has been jointly developed by PSA Peugeot Citroen and Ford and it is used by the latter in some of its vehicles too. This DV6 1.6-litre CRDI diesel engine is available in two states of tune – 90 HP FGT and 110 HP VGT. Since the SX4 Cross will be positioned as a premium vehicle, we can expect it to come with the 110 HP state of tune. The MINI Cooper Diesel is also powered by the same engine. The engine uses a relatively large turbocharger. The plumbing comes with big plastic covers and the intercooler carries a strange design. The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross scored a 5-star rating in Euro NCAP tests and it also comes with ALLGRIP technology. (Source: Motorbeam) For many reasons Maruti Suzuki is most probably skipping the FIAT based Multijet engine this time, as 1.6 Multijet which was rumored much to make entry in Suzuki S-cross crossover & All-new Ciaz sedan(SX4 replacement). Reason can be anything, maybe cost, engine performance, rights issue or anything else. Lets see further for the final or official information to arrive for its complete details.
  8. No need to change the engine oil if it was changed at 1k kms first inspection if not then you can opt for change. In our case of Maruti Swift Dzire engine oil was directly changed for the first time at 10k kms service not prior to it.
  9. How to use it ? Over cloth or with newspaper with water or without ! share us the way how it can be used on our cars ?
  10. As a measure to counter increasing input costs & to increase margins manufacturers do follow such cost cutting exercises on their products. Yes due to same reason, quality issues are there in some Hero bikes, specially Splendor & Xtreme and those started creeping even before their separation. Its not only Honda or Hero, but even all manufacturers are doing this. So don't expect same level of reliabilty today from Splendor or any other bike as it was a decade back. Although expensive, but still i'd say Splendor is one of the most reliable & successful bikes around. But if it's out of you budget then have a look at Hero HF Deluxe. It's almost same as splendor with similar features, etc at slightly lesser cost.
  11. Congrats neerajd for booking one. The thread is going to be ended from where it started, sticking to its motive Well. Thumbs up. The good thing is that you're going to buy what your heart wanted actually & Ford cars are made by heart so they appeals to the same & so will give you the satisfaction, thus needed. Btw, you're lucky you're buying 4m+ real sedan where in this era the entry level sedan segment is being converted into compact sedan segment & maybe after an year or one & a half later, full fledged 4m+ sedans will be the products of higher segment & price range i.e in Verna, City range.
  12. Recently, i've tried Amway Car wash liquid concentrate for my car & its results are magical. Requires much less effort while applying & gives much better shine after washing than other conventinal shampoos or car shampoos. 1 bottle pack serves for more than 100 car washes.
  13. I'm having 2005 make Maruti Suzuki Alto LXi Pearl silver shade. Since its going to be almost 9 years old this year & has clocked more than a lac kms i want to spruce or refresh its looks. Talking specifically about its tyres & wheels, i'm using its stock OEM setup of 145/80 R12 tyres all around on steel wheels but with MGA Wheel caps. Now want to change the way they looks. So suggest me how to change the way they look ! Installing Alloy wheels is a simple idea but i'm not keen for it as: -The car is older & has clocked more than a lac of kms, it might affect its moving parts which might got older & some worn out, leading to further component damage. -For such an old car, Rs.25-30k investment for alloy wheels doesn't seems to be good idea either except if there's no other option available. So guys please suggest me the ways to upgrade the wheels the way they look. Do share any of an idea, maybe a crazy one.
  14. @goenkaushal I don't think New Dzire is going to have a difference over the older ones but if it's having then again this might be due to defect in particular car. You need to analyze this by driving another Dzire also or might be Maruti have changed the component based on cost saving exercise, which they sometime do.
  15. Spied recently is the all-new Maruti Suzuki Alto k10 which seems to be a major upgrade to powerful version of Alto i.e k10 since it was being launched few years ago. Hence featuring extensive all-round changes. Since Maruti Suzuki have already worked heavily on Alto(Alto platform) for its latest iteration i.e Alto 800 to retain both cost & performance(fuel efficiency primarily) benefits and somehow struck the right balance expect looks which have gone under heavy scalpel treatment to look it more conservative, for two reasons -One is cost, obviously and another is a replacement option to decades old Maruti 800 as it was about to being phased out pan-India at the time of its launch. So, i expect this All-new 2014 Alto k10 to be heavily based on customer feedback reaction as well as to NCAP crash test results, which declared few of India's best seller cars being highly unsafe for Drive+passenger safety with off course increasing competition like Datsun GO & Hyundai EON 1.0 kappa VTVT. Source spy pics indicate the car seems to be featuring All-new front which looks more alike to Celerio or even more smarter with slim-headlamps & fog-lamps, reason being the car is lower than Celerio in profile & sits relatively lower. Side lines are again similar to both Alto 800 & Celerio with strong central crease blending smoothly into re-designed tail-gate including redesigned tail-lamps with differently arranged light elements than onto which the car seems to be based. More or less which seems to be Celerio than Alto800 itself, reason being it looks longer, l'll bit wider & off course it's being powered with powerful 1.0litre k-series k10 engine which needs stronger bodyshell for both handling high-speeds & to confirm to crash safety norms. Interiors still remains unrevealed, however it seems that Driver Airbag along with other convenience goodies like Bluetooth telephony on smart multimedia music system can be expected on higher variants. With increasing customer expectations & rising competition, Maruti Suzuki this time seems to be offering even more for the segment, in which they rules already. Lets wait for another round of spy shots or launch details. (Pics source: Autocar India & Motorbash.com)

  17. Honda has launched the much-awaited Activa 125 scooter in India. The Activa 125 is powered by a 124.9cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, forced air-cooled engine generating maximum power of 8.6bhp at 6,500rpm, while its peak torque of 1kgm is made at 5,500rpm. Both Honda Activa 125 variants get CBS tech and will come with four colour options — blue, silver, black and white. -Autocar India
  18. Ford has launched the 2014 Endeavour SUV here. The new car gets exterior cosmetic changes and some new styling trims on the inside. The 2014 Ford Endeavour is available in three variants. On the outside, there's a new front grille, wrap around headlamps and refreshed bumper. The fog lamp bezel is new as well, as are the 16-inch alloy wheels. All variants get a new lockable spare wheel cover. On the inside, Ford has added some new styling trims. Nigel Harris, president, Ford India, said, "Endeavour is a trusted nameplate and holds a special place in Ford India’s product portfolio. It has remained a vehicle of choice for customers who desire a dependable, muscular, rugged yet comfortable and safe SUV. The 2014 Ford Endeavour has been made more stylish, dynamic and comfortable while retaining its core DNA of an all-terrain vehicle.” The 2014 Ford Endeavour continues to be powered by a 141bhp, 2.5-litre and a 153.8bhp, 3.0-litre diesel motor. While the base variant is available with the 2.5-litre diesel motor mated to a five-speed manual transmission that drives two wheels, the mid variant gets the 3.0-litre motor mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and two-wheel drive. The top-of-the-line Endeavour comes with the 3.0-litre engine and an auto 'box that sends power to all four wheels. The three variants of the 2014 Ford Endeavour are priced at Rs 19.83 lakh (2.5-litre 4X2), Rs 21.28 lakh (3.0-litre 4X2) and Rs 23.06 lakh (3.0-litre 4X4), respectively (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). -Autocar India.
  19. Hyundai EON 1.0 arrives at dealerships: Recently seen at the Hyundai dealership is New Hyundai EON 1.0, which is powered by Hyundai's 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder kappa petrol engine which is based on i10's 1.2 kappa petrol engine. This 1.0 litre engine generates 65PS of power & 97Nm of peak torque. This car is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in less than 14 secs with achievable top speed of upto 160kmph. This 1.0 litre petrol engine is based on new-gen engine architecture which makes the best out of the fuel used with minimal energy wastage & maximum efficiency in terms of both power, fuel efficiency while offering much improved level of refinement as compared to its previous 0.8 litre engine based on Santro's 1.1 engine. Clearly seems to be an attempt to revive EON's fortunes by offering much needed grunt & refinement to EON, previously which was complained by many EON owners. Also seems to be a tool to rival Alto k10 as well as recently launched Datsun GO. Available in showrooms at ex-showroom price of around Rs.3.85 lacs for mid-spec Magna variant, which is an only variant in EON lineup to offer this 1.0 litre engine. By no means it's cheap, specially infront of Alto k10 whose base LXi variant retails at around ~Rs.60k cheaper but based on what this car offers it easily rivals with Datsun GO, WagonR, Chevrolet Spark & even base Celerio variant. 20. VW Polo facelift with 1.5 TDi India launch is expectedly slated for July 16th, 2014.
  21. Hope you've signed a cheque yet. If not Fiat then i suggest you to buy any car of your choice which haven't launched more than 4 years ago not more than that atleast, as during this period cars have become smaller in size, improved in dimensions, power, refinement, fuel efficiency & many other aspects. A Ford Classic brought now will retain half of its value in next 2 years, reason being many more better & much refined entrants are coming including its successor new Figo sedan. For current crop, service costs of all thr diesel cars cost more or less the same, but still i'd suggest you to have a Hyundai Xcent as it seems to be a most sorted package as Job or family oriented compact sedan.
  22. Since your car is freshly serviced & thoroughly checked. Now just compare it with a brand new ertiga from any known person or why not to have a Test Drive of showroom ertiga to know the difference, if it really exists then show it to Maruti service centre service manager if not then its well and good.
  23. Hyundai has started accepting bookings for the 1.0-litre Eon, with deliveries expected sometime next month. According to our sources, the 1.0-litre Eon is only available in one mid-spec Magna variant. Features available include an air-con, power steering, and front power windows. In addition to this, the Eon 1.0-litre gets an immobilizer, keyless entry and 13-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers. There is no music-system provided in the Eon 1.0 Magna variant. The Eon comes with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder motor, most likely the same one used in the European-spec Hyundai i10. In the European car, the engine makes 65bhp and 9.7kgm of torque in that car. There are no styling changes on this version of the Eon in comparison. Hyundai has priced the 1.0-litre Eon Magna at Rs 3.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the metallic shade version. **EDIT** Source: Autocar India.
  24. Nissan has already confirmed this few days back they're coming with sub 4m compact sedan. Probable launch is expected by 2016. Lets see upon which body shell(either Micra or Sunny) Nissan will be coming up with such project ! As wheelbase of the both the cars is good enough for a compact sedan. One thing more, by 2016 All-new next-gen Micra will also be ready, so i expect this concept sedan to be based on next-gen Micra as well. Alongwith Nissan, Volkswagen India will also be coming with sub 4m compact sedan in India. These set of news were long back in the air but have seen a official confirmation when other global carmakers like Ford have shown their keen interest in it by unveiling its Figo sedan concept at Auto Expo2014.
  25. I hope you're referring here to Fuel efficiency or Average(in layman terms) to what you referred to mileage above. But in technical terms it means the total distance travelled by the car by now. Best option for used Diesel hatchback is Maruti Swift Diesel. It's the best diesel car available in the country today & in Rs.3 lacs budget you can easily get any not so old used one & in good condition. Plus it's reliable enough to be purchased as second hand car. Another option which you can look in your budget are Renault Logan or Mahindra Verito or Ford Figo Diesel or even Ford Ikon TDCi Diesel. Try to stay away from other used cars. Personal suggestion, Buy a used diesel car if it's history is completely known to you or buy it from any from your friend circle. Try not to buy from unknown, unreliable sources.
