Skoda is planning to launch Citigo to the growing Indian small car market by the year 2012. Skoda Citigo was already launched in the Czech market, and the company is on the verge to launch its first small car to the Indian and European markets by next year. Citigo is built on the Volkswagen Up platform and also shares similar engine options and dimensions with the Volkswagen Up. As per the words of Skoda Chairman, Prof. Winfried Vahland, the Citigo is a simply clever car with enough power and spacious interiors for city drives.
Even though the Skoda Citigo shares the same platform with the Volkswagen Up, the Citigo comes with stylish and sporty uniquely designed headlamps and restyled tail lamps, new sporty alloy wheels, and brand new body colored bumpers with fog lamps. The radiator grille is chrome plated, which gives luxurious feel to the front. Skoda Citigo comes with two door variants- three doors and five doors. In the three door variant, front seats can be moved forward and folded to access the back seats. Compared to the exterior looks and small dimension of the Citigo, the car has got unbelievably spacious interior.
The Skoda Citigo comes with decent interiors for a small car with quality plastics and beige interiors. The seats are covered with standard fabric with optional leather upholstery.
