  1. The Ford Fiesta is a much better car overall when compared to the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki SX4 and the Volkswagen Vento (the three competitors in the segment). The only car with an auto box that comes close to the fiesta is the Honda City. I am not considering the Skoda Rapid as it is share all mechanicals with the Vento Kudos to Ford India for bringing in the most modern Dual clutch box(DSG in VW terms)- a segment first. To top it off, the gear box is sealed and totally maintenance free for life. Besides, the other features like hill assist which seem very exciting. The lightweight auto box is also said to offer class leading fuel efficiency without compromising drive-ability ( a boon in today's urban traffic conditions) and be maintenance free for a period of 10 years. The driver centric nature of the all new Fiesta blended with the practicality of a sensible AT box that is efficient and smooth should really help Ford win back a better share in the C segment Auto sedan space. I personally feel that one should not really compare the Fiesta A/T with the Verna A/T . The Verna is really not a driver's car and however good a value preposition it may be, there is not much point spending more money on an automatic when you are going to be in the backseat while a chauffeur takes to the wheel. The Vento is too similar to the polo till the B pillar and the transmission is definitely not in the league of the DSG box offered on the more expensive range from VW and Skoda On the whole, the Fiesta A/T seems to be the best pick of the lot since even the City is ageing and due to receive a facelift any time soon.
