  1. @akholic By yard you mean the manufacturing plant? VW has a plant in Chakan, Pune. will I be allowed to enter the plant just to check my car? Is it possible for a new car to have such damages, especially a car built by VW?
  2. Thanks, you can post some tips and advice or any other useful information (be it first hand driving experience) in my thread, "VW polo buying advice and tips".
  3. @ Librankur Is depot charge of Rs. 3000/- a valid charge? I have been to VW and Hyundai showroom recently and it is mentioned on their price list.
  4. Ok. Thats good to know. Well I have test driven the VW Polo petrol at about 95kmph and found it really sturdy. Well again its a personal opinion. I'm in the market for a new hatch, since I'm quite sold on the Polo petrol just wanted a comparison from a user. Good luck with your car. I hope it treats you well.
  5. Welcome, I have just joined recently and love to interact with people here. Good to know about your wheels and love for them. Keep it up. What was the top speed you clocked on your drive? If you have driven a Vw polo petrol, how would you rate the two? Once again enjoy driving
  6. @ Sandy, What you pointed out is the need of the hour. Improving fuel quality and managing traffic. Since our government has not succeeded in either, they thought of coming up with some other gimmick. Imagine for a 12 kms drive from my home to work I spend 60 to 70 mins behind the wheels. We really need to improve our driving habits and manage traffic.
  7. I'm not really sure how useful this is since we all know that the FE published is under favourable conditions. I believe people also consider performance and many other factors while making their purchase. And if a car delivers superior performance with a drop in FE of 0.75 or 1 I think people would not even consider the other car, with better FE.
  8. @ashikawa Thanks for the above info. Yes, I live at kandivali, and in a span of 7 days I visited both the VW West showrooms, Andheri and Santacruz. Since I have mentioned that I will be away for 1 month I guess they are not taking me seriously. There is one in prabhadevi, do you think that is worth a visit? Its been four days since I have asked VW west to submit their best offer, but I have not heard anything from them. I was told by VW west that wait period is 20 days, which I doubted initially and you just confirmed by suspicion. Any way would you like to share any other information. I will keep this thread updated as and when I hear from them.
  9. @ librankur They were offering a 1.6 petrol with 70k discount white in colour, 2011 make. Since that was way out of my budget I did not take it seriously. I think I really missed the once in a life time offer. I just cant get them to drop their prices. Anyway have to be a little firm and straight forward.
  10. At this price point I believe one can buy a sedan. I really don't understand Skoda's strategy. No change under the hood, some cosmetic changes (not so appealing) and up goes the price.
  11. FYI, a friend of mine managed discount of 65k+ goodies on Jazz x bought 3 months ago. He was at the dealer ship the whole day and was reluctant to pay a single penny more than his budget. At the end of the day the dealer succumbed to his demands and gave up. So guys if you can share some tips and tricks to negotiate with dealers it would be really helpful to me and all other prospective buyers.
  12. I'm new around here and also new to the VW Polo. I am planning to buy one in the next 30-40 days. I had shortlisted the i20 and polo for review but have narrowed down to polo. Primarily because of its superior performance and build quality. i20 is not even near to this german beauty. I'm haggling prices with VW dealer in Santacruz, Mumbai West. Ever since I disclosed that I'm not in town for a month they stopped calling me. Initially it was like a credit card company, believe me. I'm interested in buying a red VW Polo tl 1.2 petrol, So VW owners please help with the following. Is red the right choice of colour? I hope it will not fade over time or worse change its complexion? Did you negotiate for better deals, mostly discount? Did you negotiate for accessories? Did you take a loan for your vehicle? If yes, then who can provide me with the best auto loan? How much did you pay for your AMC? Is it advisable? and what does it cover? Please explain the 0% depreciation policy? I've read a few user experience on this forum and After reading your experience one thing is sure that they never keep their word. Better to take commitments in writing.
  13. I think stiff competition is working in consumers favour, shopping for cars has somewhat become like shopping for vegetables in India. people bargain to the fullest for cash discounts, goodies to free insurance, extended warranty etc. It is also very important to know the time of bargain, usually at the mid- end of the month because dealers have to achieve their sales target and would go that extra mile for you. A friend of mine bought a jazz about 3 months ago and believe it or not he managed a discount of 65k + goodies and free insurance. He followed the same practice of haggling around mid- end of the month. Also, make them know that you are serious about your purchase and will visit other dealers. They will bend over backwards. Happy haggling.
  14. Hi, your review was really informative. I guess that is where you your car from. Can you disclose the actual price you paid? Did you negotiate for better deals, mostly discount? Did you negotiate for accessories, I guess you managed a Kenwood stereo? What else? Did you take a loan for your vehicle? If yes, then who can provide me with the best auto loan? How much did you pay for your AMC? Is it advisable? and what does it cover? Please explain the 0% depreciation policy? I would like to talk to you if its ok with you? You can have my phone number 9867861262. Just drop an sms and will call you back. After reading your review one thing is sure that they never keep their word. Better to take commitments in writing.
