  1. Hi friends, This is regarding my friend`s 07 Skoda Octavia1.9 done around 10,000kms. The car is steady even at speeds of 120-130 but the steering wheel shivers very much once the brake is applied even at speed low as 50-60km/h.And the interesting thing is that this happens only after driving continously for some time ,like 100km etc. What might be the possible reason? Is it something to do with wheel balancing, allignment or brakes........anybody pls?The service centre person says there is nothing wrong with the car......but as i said before, it happens only after some time of continous driving......... Regards, Dhanus.

  8. TVS Motors is all set to become the first company in the world to launch two wheelers with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). ABS, which prevents locking of wheels and skidding while sudden braking, is currently available in all premium four wheelers and commercial vehicles across the globe. TVS is currently testing the indigenously developed ABS technology on its bikes and scooters to reduce multiple vehicle and the run-of-road crashes. A senior executive of TVS Motors confirmed that the technology in the final stages of development and is undergoing testing at its Hosur facility. It forms part of the 30 different technologies that are being developed by TVS for their two-wheeler range. ABS technology reduces chances of crashing, and the severity of impact. It significantly reduces the chances of a skid and subsequent loss of control by the driver on the vehicle. On slippery surfaces it leads better control of the vehicle rather than go into a skid as it instantly locks the multiple wheels of the vehicle. Working on the same concept, the ABS is likely to be introduced initially on yet to be launched high powered bikes of TVS in the premium 200 cc segment. The new technology is expected to jack up the prices of these by 7% to 8%. It is an expensive technology and the company is trying to economise it by bringing in high localisation. Company officials had told that they are working on a proven technology that is available on several super bikes (500 cc and above) which is currently very expensive and unviable for the price-sensitive Indian market. To control costs an indigenous model is also on the way. According to sources, TVS Motors has reportedly applied for a patent on this technology. As part of its 30 different technologies project, which are currently underway, TVS is also developing a hybrid and a CNG fired two wheeler, which will be showcased at the Auto Expo in January.

  12. Renault logan to be cheaper by 30,000.........................i think its the right move by M&M...........ur opinion.......... Mahindra Renault, the JV between Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) and Renault, is likely to rationalise prices of its Logan sedan within eight months of its launch. This is the second time the company will be rejigging prices of the Logan. Earlier it had introduced a couple of new variants with competitive price tags and improved features to attract customers. The Logan has suffered on account of slack demand and intense competition in the mid-size sedan segment. Sources say Mahindra Renault has formalised some of the rebates already available on the product. The mark down will mean different variants of the Logan will be cheaper by anywhere between Rs 30,000 and Rs 43,000. The price mark down will cover several metros like Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata. When contacted by ET, Mahindra Renault managing director Rajesh Jejurikar refused to comment on any price change for the Logan. And an email to the company went unanswered. The Logan, which is one of the cheapest cars in Europe at around e6,000 and one of Renault?s best-sellers the world over, was earlier targeted to notch up annual sales of 50,000 units. However, the company has so far sold 17,761 units in the past eight months of its launch. The Logan is pitted against popular sedans like the Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Maruti Suzuki SX4 & Esteem and the Indigo. The mid-size market grew by 13% in the April-November period to 1,46,210 units from 1,29,693 units last year. The segment is led by Maruti Suzuki SX4 and the Esteem combine with 33,611 units, followed by Honda City with 23,785 units, Hyundai?s Verna and Accent with 21,923 units, Ford Fiesta 20,912 units. MahindraRenault Logan sold 16,267 units in the first eight months of this fiscal

  18. Hi friends, Any news or pics about the new Innova...... blog.carazoo.com/2007/12/innova-to-get-facelift-for-2008.html - 48k
  19. Hi , I own an Optra magnum LT 2.0L and I am very satisfied with the cars perfomance. Now the car has clocked 9000 kms and it gives around 11 in Bangalore city conditions and in long drives at good speed it gives me around 16-17 per litre. The pick is teriffic and i drove the car at 180Km/hr in a small stretch in NH 7 and it was stable even at this speed but the tyre noise was a bit high. When compared to Skoda it is a much better car and the only one thing i like in Skoda is its tough built.Even though the Optra is well built when compared with other cars, but still Skoda scores in that. The ground clearence is also excellent for magnum and it is an excellent car available now in our market and excellent value for money.................. Regards, Dhanus
