  1. Rather than spending money to improve performance of a 100 cc bike I'd suggest you get a faster bike. Or just get the head decarbonized, get new spark plugs, change your engine oil. If the sprocket set is worn out get a new sprocket set. If you want more than what the bike currently does, then there tonnes of stuff you can do. But I'd still suggest you get yourself a bigger bike!
  2. The place mentioned by geet is called MotoMania, he keeps a variety of gear. Or you can try cramster, IMHO the gear here is of better quality. Lookup their address posted in the website link above!
  3. Its not that I hate Bajaj bikes....its just that among the listed parameters Bajaj looses out big time!!!!
  4. Pulsar....Damn.....what features man...its a plain boring old bike that half the country drives.... Man people crave bout its mileage....heard of the HONDA Unicorn or the HH Achiever??? The P-150 has one of the worst mileage figures amongst its segement....the Xtreme comes close though....still atleast its got performance..... Heck the P-150 sucks in performance too....its the slowest of the lot! And to top it all it comes with Bajaj Quality.....and we know what that is like!!! Why do people say that P-150 is a VFM product.....the RTR retails for just about 2K more than P-150....so why buy a P-150???? Well the answer is simple....coz everyone buys a pulsar 150 and so many people can't be wrong....DAMN DAMN.....
  5. 6. @indiabike: dnt know a lot....but try and help out ppl wid my inputs.....anyways when do u plan on buyin a bike?
  7. Yamaha has been launching the Fazer 250 for the past 2 years.....:-P Expect a sea of change from Yamaha next year!!!! Anyways more bout hunk.......its a gorgeous bike....but it looks as small as the old Apache 150....don't why some ppl are just goin on and on about how huge it looks..... anyways, red is smashin!!!
  8. @Abhilash I don't wanna disappoint you, but if you're waiting for the Auto Expo'08 to show you your dream bike.....then you're gonna see your dream bike for sure.....but you mite not be able to buy it for sometime. Any or most of the new bikes shown that would be slated for a production launch mite take anywhere from 3-10 months to reach the market. Remember the Pulsar 220??? This is the reason why I ditched my plans of waiting for the bike of my dream after the AE'08 and just bought myself a bike from the present rather than waiting for the future! If you are ready to wait that long....then its great you will have amazing choices to choose from......but if you're in a hurry then you should buy something rite away.....max I see just the flame or rtr Fi coming up for launch in Jan.....otherwise it more or less...nothin....BUT I can be very very wrong too!!!
  9. Okies here's my take :- Reliability & Quality 1. Honda 2. Suzuki 3. Hero honda 4. TVS 5. Yamaha 6. Bajaj Performance(based on single category of bikes) 1. TVS 2. Honda 3. Hero Honda 4. Yamaha 5. Suzuki 6. Bajaj
  10. @Zeedex: wer art thou man? no replies to all the suggestions given to you?? Anyways...what all do you plan on doin with the bike?Like wats it gonna be used for primarily?
  11. Dunno wat this hungama is all about...its just another Karizma thats in all Chrome scheme.....personally I think it looks cheap! May look good in a sci-fi movie....but not for a bike that I ride!!!!
  12. I think you're wrong....the older bikes were'nt as good on fit 'n' finish as todays bikes are! Maybe quality.... If you wanna ride a bajaj...do so for a year or two...then switch to a honda..... !!!
  13. Well if you're so biased against the FI I can't help you..... FYI Fuel Injection has been around in cars in India for almost a decade now!!! Its upto you to decide seeing a decade's worth of information. The FI RTR would cost somewhere around 66-70K depending upon your city! And thats not much when you see that you're getting a 15.7 Bhp machine that easily give mileage in the region of 55-60 kmpl and above that you can happily cruise at 120 Kmph on todays highways without even breaking a sweat....oh and don't forget that rear petal disc.... All this for month or two's wait.....you decide dude!
  14. The oil companies are runnin in a loss due to the low fuel prices anyways.....ask govt to increase salaries instead!
  15. *Hi-tech pulsar phase where nothing seems to go wrong* You kidding rite....see the number of problems that come along with the pulsars.....and it just gets better as you up the product line!
  16. for you if height is not an issue then...the RTR is best suited for you.... And let my tell you the FI bike will more character than a carb one.....the FI RTR is 0.5 Bhp more than the carb RTR. Also you have much better throttle respone with FI as the correct amount fuel/air ratio is metered into the cylinder. Also the FI system would mean a much more smoother ride compared to the carb version. Also the FI will give you better mileage than carb anyday.... The advantages of FI far outweigh Carb bike....and FI does wonder to the the character of a bike......go onto you tube and search for the review about the RTR FI on cnbc, hear the roar of the engine .... it sounds like a small sports bike..... The only drawback of a FI system is unavailibity of performance mods available today in the market for it. But I think a year down the line it would be a different story. Your take dude....I though I'd just clear out the misconception!!!
  17. Extra air filter ? why ? Not needed...the K'n'N filter needs to be connected directly to the carb to achieve a gain of any sort! And when I said the engine is 20 years old...i meant the engine is in use for the past 20 years....avoid doing any sort of mods to it..... Anyways your bike...your take... When you go in for a better rubber...don't go overboard and get really fat tyre....I don't know the caliber rim size...but I think the Apache rear tyre should be enough!
  18. 108!! Hmm...since when did caliber get a digtal speedo that you could see exact speeds of 108 etc....!!! Anyways...don't worry your most probably doing somthing like 95-98...taking speedo error into consideration!Still 108 on the speedo is quite impressive...howd u manage it? Wats ur weight? were you on downhill/downwind? And about mods...leave that 20 year old engine as it is......at the most if you badly want to do something for it...plonk in a K'n'N and don't forget to upjet....that should give you a lil more punch from the engine....then you get a customised free flow exhaust that would free up about 1-2 bhp from the engine....and while your at do remember to get slightly better rubber for the caliber...you can try sprocketing, but thats at the give take situation...either you get acceleration or get topspeed....whatever you get ...the opposite you loose!!!! **Waring: all mods done are illegal. so be sure you are ok with having cop problems.**
  19. isn't this the "Indian Bikes" section??
  20. Buying a bike depends on many factors :- 1.Budget 2.Driving Conditions 3.Daily avg kms covered 4.Primary Requirement(Power / speed / comfort) 5.Nature of use (college going / office commute / etc) u've mentioned only a 50K budget limit....then I guess the max u can buy wud be the Disco 135! or you could look for some of the 125 cc bikes...like the Flame, Disco or something in that range!
  21. Flame would only be here by end Dec or early Jan....this what one of the biggest TVS dealers here in Chennai told me! Same goes for the RTR EFi!
  22. The only thing that the 220 needs to improve upon is quality!
  23. And can you give reasons...as why would a person want to buy the most common the slowest the most problematic the least mileage 150cc bike on the roads....?
