  1. Future is driven by Sustainable practice. India’s effort towards a Sustainable Living environment is finally taking a realistic outlook with Government initiatives on curbing air pollution becoming stringent with the activation of several reforms and laws that can secure a Green future for everyone. With the replacement of coal-fired power plants with renewable energy sources and the introduction of several policies for keeping a tab on the air quality, the urgency for e-mobility has never looked so much important before. According to the 2019 World Air Quality Report, 17 Indian cities rank among the world’s 25 most polluted cities, to safeguard the future Government has implemented steps towards a cleaner environment with strong policies related to the transportation department. The transport minister has stated that India would adapt and move to 100% electric cars by the year 2030 in consonance with the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan presented by India empowering electric vehicles that meet customer performance and cost possibilities through collaboration among Government and different industries for the improvement of infrastructure, consumer awareness, and innovation to progress the future of EV Two Wheeler and Four Wheeler market on the sector. The complete adoption of EV will lead to a healthier environment due to their beneficial factors: · EV’s are environment Friendly with Zero Carbon emissions · Help in upholding health benefits with reduced harmful exhaust emissions · EVs are also quieter than petrol/diesel vehicles, which means less noise pollution · Enabling Energy Security with reduction of dependency on foreign oil. EVs are easy to power from local and renewable energy sources · EVs improve local air quality by centralizing emissions at power plants, and they are more efficient overall than vehicles powered by fossil fuels · EV Charging advances Sustainability Charging stations can run on renewable energy to keep pushing down emissions and electricity costs related to charging. Following the Leap: As e-mobility strengthens its root in the Indian landscape and increase in Government reforms are visible: 1. India plans to offer $4.6 billion in incentives to companies setting up advanced battery manufacturing facilities as it seeks to promote the use of electric vehicles and cut down its dependence on oil. 2. India plans to retain its import tax rate of 5% for certain types of batteries, including batteries for electric vehicles, until 2022 but will increase it to 15% thereafter to promote local manufacturing. 3. Launch of Smart Cities program for enabling the adoption of EV and other e-mobility options, and EV charging and parking bays. 4. The 2020 National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) proposed by the Department of Heavy Industries in 2012 set its goal to encourage the faster adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles in the country through government-industry collaborations, to allow India to emerge as a leader in EV manufacturing by 2020. Conclusion As EV adoption takes a faster pace in the mobility sector, quicker approach in assembling the components to establish the charging solutions is the need of the hour and must be acted upon on an immediate basis. As the manufacturers of lithium batteries increase day by day with established EV battery providers switching to lithium instead of lead-acid for backup support, many newcomers in the industry are setting up their assets for entering the highly competitive market with the best product. VSL Energy Storage located in Kolkata is one among the many manufacturers of EV Batteries, who are all set to launch their first Lithium-ion batteries for EV 2 Wheelers and 3 Wheelers which will be equipped with the latest chemistries and technological advancements required in the field.VSL Energy Storage
  2. Mahindra showcased its 2020 thar recently and while its an amazing automobile, it has been launched with only six exterior options. Mahindra has missed the option of white exterior for the thar which in my opinion is a big miss as 4/10 cars in India are white. white is not only a popular colour but is also easy to maintain and doesn’t absorb as much heat as other colours which is a boon in our hot climate. To everyone reading this please tweet to Mr. Anand Mahindra for adding white on the palette 🙏 !!!
  3. As Of Monday, May 18, 2020, India has become on of six countries that produces high horsepower locomotives indigenously. This happened with the introduction of the Electric Locomotive dubbed WAG12 (number- 60027), which produces 12,000hp (compared to the current locomotives that produce around 6,000hp) and is the first high horsepower locomotive that can operate on a broad gauge track. Additionally the locomotive can also operate on regular rail tracks as well as special tracks present in dedicated Freight Corridors. The Electric locomotive has been built under the Make in India project and has been produced by Madhepura Electric Loco Factory situated in Bihar. The same facility will produce 800 such locomotives over an 11 year span. These locomotives are also designed to do speeds of up to 120kph though it has been tested up to 132kph. 12. SAIC will soon come to India. There are talks that it will bring the MG-Motor brand to our market first. But they also have this butch LDV 90 SUV in their line-up which is also sold in Australia. This means, they have a RHD version too. I think this can be a good rival to the Compass, Fortuner and the likes if priced aggressively.
  13. Hi Guys, I booked a Renault Duster on the 30th of October 2013 from RENAULT THANE under the offer of 30,000 Exchange Benefit - 4 yr Warranty - Road Side Assistance - Gang of Dusters Membership. He asked me to submit my old car by 31st of October which was not possible as within 12hrs. decision couldn't be made. He later called me up and said the offer is over and I wont get any of those despite me booking the car in offer period. I sold my old car later on 12th of November and found on 14th the same offer has restarted in Newspaper. I had to give him the full payment but didn't give as now since I waited this long I wanted a car with a manufacturing year of 2014 since only one month was left in 2014. I told the same to the sales person and he said that the new lot will arrive in mid March or April. Just to confirm the same I called Renault Andheri and they said that it will come by end January. I had to bow down to his demand and promised him to give full payment by Tuesday 3rd December. Hearing this he yesterday i.e. 30th November gave me call at 7pm saying that Renault is hiking car prices of Duster by 30,000 - 40.000 and only way you can save yourself the money is by making the full payment by tonight (which bank is open at 7pm). I said that I couldn't do it and he replied by saying "sorry sir then its out of my hands now".I did the same as earlier and called the Renault Andheri showroom and the sales person there said that "the customer who has booked a car at earlier price is given a weeks time to do the payment at earlier price after the announcement of the price hike". As a matter of fact my sales person gave me 2 hours to do the same. Now neither I can buy a 2014 manufactured car, nor get away from paying the increased price. So here I think I ended up being a loser. GUYS PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW.

  17. Global car giant Toyota Motor Corporation will consider launching moresmall cars and entering fast growing segments like compact SUVs in order to achieve market leadership in India. The company, however, said in the absence of a clear cut Indian government policy relating the auto industry such as fuel policy and import tariff, it is adopting a wait and watch strategy before deciding on setting up of a new diesel engine plant in the country or launching more hybrid cars. "If you look at our portfolio in India, we have just one small car, Liva. We need more if we have to have big volumes in a fast growing market like India," Toyota Motor Corporation Managing Officer Satoshi Ohiso told reporters here. While he did not share details of the company's future product launches, Ogiso said another prime focus of the company is the fast growing compact SUV segment. "Globally, the compact SUV segment is getting more popular and in India it is also the same. We will definitely have our presence there," he said, without elaborating details. 18. Looks like there are a lot of Chinese cars testing now on Indian roads. Here are pictures of a Great Wall Haval H3 SUV testing around Pune. Great Wall Motors is China's 8th largest car maker. Engine wise, Great Wall licenses one of the engines from Mitsubishi: a 2.4-liter inline four cylinder engine. For China alone, Great Wall sells the H3 with a 2.5 and 2.8 petrol engines as well. Power transmission is performed by a 5-speed manual unit, though a 6-speed automatic was developed for the Hover H7. Great Wall is China’s biggest domestic SUV brand. It sold 280,000 Haval branded SUV models in 2012, posting almost a 90% increase compared to 2011. As sales soared, Great Wall felt the brand pull of Haval was strong enough for it to be autonomous. Thus Haval became a sub-brand and the refreshed lineup sporting the new brand plate was brought to the Shanghai Auto Show last month. Source: IndianAutosBlog
  19. Skoda is all set to pull the plug on the Fabia and will stop selling its only hatchback in Indian the market. However, Skoda will finish assembling Fabia kits before stopping production and hence the Fabia will continue to be sold, possibly till the end this year, until stocks are exhausted. Skoda’s decision to withdraw the hatchback from the market was prompted by the huge losses the company has been incurring on the Fabia. Successive price cuts over the years to prop up demand has seen this car shedding almost 40 per cent of its price tag since its launch in 2008, which badly squeezed margins. The Fabia’s relatively low level of local content made it very expensive to produce and this problem was compounded by the Indian Rupee depreciation of 36 percent since 2008 which pushed up costs even higher. According to industry sources, Skoda was losing as much as Rs. 1.5 lakh per car and hence the company was deliberately refraining from aggressively marketing the Fabia which sold a meagre 3,343 units in the 2012-2013 fiscal year. Last month Skoda sold a paltry 115 units. Earlier this year, Honda withdrew its premium hatchback the Jazz, for similar reasons as the car was just too expensive too produce. Read more here: Fabia to be discontinued I think this is a good move by Skoda. I was never really a fan of the Fabia, never liked the front end especially and always found it to be overpriced. The Polo outsold Fabia by a huge margin really and to be honest Im happy to see it go.
  20. Its here. The Jaguar F-Type has landed in India. This gorgeous looking white car was spotted at KBS Chowk in Chinchwad Pune. The rear badges and the badges on the alloy wheels were covered. The standard F-Type, if we can call it that, comes with a supercharged 3.0 V6 under the bonnet. It puts out 335bhp and does the sprint to 100kph in a claimed 5.3 seconds. The S model puts out a substantially higher 375bhp and there’s even a ‘mad hatter’ V8 S that puts out 488bhp. 0-100kph in the V8 S takes just 4.3 seconds. The F-Type will, however, come to India in two variants, the supercharged V6 S and a supercharged V8 S with prices expected to be in the range of Rs 1.3-1.5 crore. The F-Type is slated for a July 2013 launch Here are the pictures Pics Source: IndianAutosBlog

  24. Here is the picture of the Cherokee that is the first model will be produced after the alliance of Chrysler and Fiat. It is slated to be officially unveiled at the New York motor show in March, and will replace the company’s smaller SUV, the Liberty, internationally. Mind you this is not the Big Daddy Grand Cherokee but more of an entry level crossover, which could be priced in the Honda CR-V range. The new Jeep Cherokee is based on a version of Fiat’s ‘Compact Wide’ platform, which underpins the US-market Dodge Dart saloon, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and the Fiat Viaggio. The platform is capable of accommodating a four-wheel-drive system, V6 engines and diesels, all of which will be available in the new Jeep. The petrol V6, which is unlikely to make it to India, will be a 3.2-litre version of Chrysler’s 3.6-litre unit. It will also be the first Fiat-Chrysler vehicle to get a new nine-speed automatic gearbox. This transmission is said to be “the future of the front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive world of Chrysler”, according to CEO Sergio Marchionne. Read more here: http://www.autocarindia.com/News/330974,india-bound-jeep-cherokee-revealed.aspx What do you think? I feel it looks like just any other small SUV and somehow it is lacking the character of its bigger brother. Looks weird from the front
