Suzuki China will give a cosmetic update to the A-star (Sold as the Alto in China) very soon. There are various spy pics doing rounds of the updated A-star from China. The ultimate question here is that if Maruti brings this to India, will it help boost A-star sales? We all know the A-star aint doing that good in the Indian market. Maruti still sells it here because basically India is the export base for the A-star which is sold as the Alto or Celerio in other international markets. Well here are the pics of the China market A-star update, looks quite nice to me, I feel it will give a boost to the sales in India if it comes here.
After the launch of the new Dzire, Maruti did not stop production of the older model but kept it alive by making it available only for the taxi market or fleet operators by badging it 'Tour' . The Tour is a bare bones Dzire stripped of even the basics like body coloured bumpers, door handles, central locking and even the left side door mirror Now, however, due to overwhelming demand and long waiting periods for its new Dzire, Maruti has made the Dzire Tour available to private car buyers as well. Also, for an estimated Rs 12,000-15,000, customers can get the front and rear bumpers painted, along with the door handles and the wing mirror. To get central locking, the left wing mirror and other accessories installed, buyers will have to shell out extra. Swift Dzire Tour prices (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) Diesel: Rs 6.16 lakh Petrol: Rs 5.12 lakh
Folks, which is the best budget hatch currently available in the country? The Tata Nano 2012 or the long-in-the-tooth Alto and Spark? I personally like the K10 and the way it drives but the interior and the 1990s styling now look a bit boring as compared to the fashionable new Eon which is again an okayish car with poor driving dynamics. What's your say?
