  1. Hi all, Today i came across som einteresting rendered pics of what is to be an Rolls Royce SUV !! Now, to be frank i was not a big of the Bentley SUV concept, which was displayed previously. So do you guys think this is better look wise??? Because i really hated this one !! even more than the Bentley Suv !!
  2. The XA Alpha concept was showcased by Maruti at last years Auto Expo. After that there hadnt been any news on the car but now there is word that the compact SUv might be coming this year. The EcoSport has taken the market by storm so perhaps Maruti wants to launch this car soon. Hopefully the production version looks as good as the concept. Anyone here has more info on this? 3. Bentley just confirmed that it will be building an SUV which will go on sale in 2016. There are some renderings which have surfaced on the net and personally I find them really ugly. What do you think? I feel the exclusivity of a Bentley will be lost if they go in that direction Pics source: Autocar UK & Auto Express
  4. Volkswagen has unveiled the CrossBlue SUV concept at the Detroit Motorshow. It will be a seven seater SUV when it goes into production and will rival the likes of the Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot. It will replace the elderly and slow-selling Routan MPV, fitting into the range between the Tiguan and the Touareg, a car considered too expensive to successfully compete against more affordable competition. At 4987mm long, 2015mm wide and 1733mm tall, the CrossBlue is bigger than a Touareg. It uses VW’s MQB architecture, and the production car is likely to be closely related to the next Tiguan, with transverse engines. It will be built in the US alongside the US-market Passat. The show car has a plug-in diesel-electric hybrid powertrain, with a 2.0-litre engine and a pair of motors, one driving each axle – combined they produce 302bhp and a 0-100kph time of 7.2secs. From the picture the concept looks to be of Mercedes GL proportions size wise. Will definitely be a good seller if it is launched in India, A seven seater makes a lot of sense.
  5. Straight from the horses mouth, Hyundai Motor India CEO & MD Bo Shin Seo has said that HMI will 'soon' launch a slew of products for the Indian market, including a compact SUV, an MPV as well as a compact car positioned between its i10and i20 models. He also said that the launches will be supported by a new diesel focus on the back of HMI's recentinvestments in diesel engine capacity. Speaking to TOI, Seo said the carmaker's Korean parent Hyundai Motor Company has a "very strong line up" and "HMI will launch a small SUV soon. The SUV will come earlier, followed by an MPV", he added. The compact SUV segment has seen a buzz with the Renault Duster becoming a runaway hit. HMI's arch rival Maruti has already launched an MPV in the Ertiga and its top brass have been quoted talking about more products in the compact SUV/crossover category. Other players like GM are planning products like the Chevy Enjoy in the same segment. Source: Times of India Read full article here: http://timesofindia....ow/19266223.cms
  6. Though Mitsubishi has already launched it's 2014 Outlander (which appeals ugly to many forum members!); they have launched a special edition Outlander for 2013! Mitsubishi Outlander SUV has been revamped and boasts of centre bumper, wheel arch trims, blackout side mirrors as also roof rails and limited edition alloy wheels. Interiors of this dynamic looking crossover have been incorporated with two tone Dove grey and black leather seating arrangements while engine performance has been improved with inclusion of a balancer shaft which provides smooth and quick acceleration features. Though chances of it's launch in india are extreamly rare, but I'm sharing this only because of it's awsome looks! It's complete visual delight & looks way better than 2014 model! i think mitsubishi needs to rethink about it!
  7. Volkswagen has decided to joined the compact SUV bandwagon as it revealed a concept at the Sao Paolo Motor Show. Called the Taigun, the compact four-seater previews the look set to be adopted on a planned new Mini Countryman and Nissan Juke rival to be positioned and priced below the Tiguan when launched towards the middle of the decade. The Taigun is based around a stretched version of the VW Up’s NSF (New Small Family) platform. At 3859mm in length, 1728mm in width and 1570mm in height, the Taigun is 566mm shorter, 82mm narrower and 130mm lower than the Tiguan. The concept is not four-wheel drive, as the NSF platform currently only supports front-wheel drive.Power for the concept comes from the same 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with 108bhp and 129lb ft as the upcoming Up GT. Drive is channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox. The 985kg Taigun can crack 0-100kph in 9.2sec and reach a top speed of 187kph. VW plans to sell the Taigun in each of their global markets. That means the Taigun will come to India as well. This could well go up against the Mahindra Xylo and the Ford Ecosport out here. I think it should be priced ideally between 7 to 9 lakhs
  8. Hello, I have been driving a i10 for the last 3 1/2 yrs and had a hatch before that for 3 yrs as well. Now I guess its time for me to take the leap, move to a SUV and this time not selling the current hatch for small errands and city use. Apart from driving a Innova a few hundred kms on several trips, I have no experience of driving a hatch and so when i decided to buy one for our small family I though it was best to ask the experts for advise. My budget is in the range of 22-25L and I am looking for something with good interiors, a decent list of gadgets and features. I wont be off roading, so I am not looking for a monster, but good/large interiors would be of help. I wont be loading 7 people always when we travel, but a good 3rd row will help for extra space and stuff to carry. I would like to buy in around Mar/April '13 on one of the festive ocassions. No other stringent requirements, so please help me decide what options should i start looking at, cos the list of available SUVs in the market is just confusing the hell out of me. I am keen to hear from one and all..and if you also went through a shortlisting & decision cycle to shortlist your SUV, then please share that, so it may b just help me align my thoughts as well. I appreciate the help ..all fellow car enthusiasts and experts. Ash
  9. Mercedes' has begun testing of the new A-Class based SUV which could be called the GLA. Here are the first ever spy pictures. Source: Carscoop
  10. First-ever spy pictures of the Isuzu MU-7 spied in India. Carries an MH-12 red plate, any guesses who is planning to bring this to India? This one comes with a 3.0-litre diesel engine with approx 146bhp in ASEAN markets. Do you think this is good enough to compete with Fortuner and the new Rexton? Images sent by Autocar India readers: Bharat Manghnani and Rohit Tonapi.
  11. I am interested in purchasing a compact utility vehicle (CUV). However, being a Santro Xing owner, this is like venturing into uncharted territory. So please help in deciding what all features or factors I should focus upon while deciding a CUV. Many thanks in advance!

  13. While I am contemplating to buy a XUV 500, my budget is 15 lacs. Considering the on & off road capabilities, I am also inclined to buy a second hand Mitsubishi Pajero. Which one would make more sense to buy keeping in mind, drivability, On road & Off road presence & performance & ease of maintenance. Please share your thoughts..........
  14. The Ssangyong XIV( production ready) is going to shed its covers soon at the Paris motor show. This SUV, when launched will give Duster(low quality) or Ecosport(lack of BRAWNY feel) sleepless nights. IMHO, this could easily be brought into India, as the the New Owner M&M can produce this car in India and sell it Dead Cheap & also make India an export hub to cut costs. This seems to be under 4M, or makes one feel, it could be tinkered under 4M, so this could eat the other lined up Mini SUVs in India for breakfast. Come Paris motorshow, we are going to see the almost near production variant of this SUV. With 1.5L CRDI 3 potter BiTurbo already tested, launching this one in India is like a sea breeze.
  15. Indian markets are flooding with chinese products; form ordinary toothbrush to high-tech Iphone; everything we use is chinese this days! While Global Auto Industry is trying really hard, to stop them entering in global market; some small auto manufacturers like Primier & ICML are using chinese companies for their own sake & chinese are also trying to leave their mark on gloab with help of them! It’s quite literally raining SUVs and CUVs in India! Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster, facelifted Captiva, Tata Safari Storme, Mahindra XUV500, Force One, Premier Rio, Mahindra Mini Xylo, XA Alpha concept, you name it and it’s there! One more SUV soon to join the lineup is Great Wall Haval H5. It was caught uncamouflaged while testing in Noida by guys @ GoaonWheels.com So is Great Wall Motors planning an entry in India? The simple answer to that question is NO. However, International Cars & Motor Ltd(ICML), the company that manufactures Rhino MPV, is reportedly planning to bring the Haval H5 to India under their own brand name. The test car caught over here is a five seat variant. The Haval H5 is a handsome looking SUV that comes in a 5 seat and 7 seat avatar with 2- or 4-wheel drive. It has passed all European tests regarding environment protection, safety and performance. The interior of the Haval H5 is pretty neat as well. Some of the interesting features include: E-controlled switch for 4WD ABS+EBD+TCS Anti-dazzle Interior Mirror Remote Control Central Door Lock Leather-trimmed Steering with Bluetooth and stereo control Power adjustable seats (driver only), A DVD player with six speakers and GPS An electronically operated sunroof Optional heated seats The Haval H5 is available in both petrol and diesel options: 2.4-litre petrol engine producing 134 bhp and 203 Nm of torque 2.5-litre diesel generating 107 bhp and 305 Nm of torque. Skoda Yeti LWB

Skoda is planning a long-wheel-base version of the Yeti for the Chinese market. If launched, will this work in India, if they make it a seven seater?
