I too own an Impulse and here are my views The bike comfort is quite good with the front fork and back suspension. I have a thumbs up for Hero to come out with an off road bike. Hats off Hero. Good start for Indian motor bike additions Good ground clearance and helps ride in the traffic without knocking off other bikes mirrors so nice in traffic. Also can cross medians in emergency which other bikes can't do. Things not really good or have to be improved: 1 ) Front disc brake doesn't lock completely when apply brake. 2 ) Also the brake and clutch levers need to have a bit more of distance from the grip as if you use only two figures to use the clutch or brake the lever touches the other fingers limiting the braking. Prefer it to have the dog leg levers that will have a better clearance. 3 ) For a 149Kg bike the bottom end power is very less. I tried riding it on the beach and in the first gear the engine was about to stall due to lack of power. 4 ) As the height of the bike is high the wheel base has to be increased by at least 4 inches to improve braking. In 60 Kms if you brake the bike drags about 5 feet and stops. 5 ) Engine heats up a lot compared to the Yamaha Fz16 I have. Not sure if its with only my bike so you can't ride the bike with slippers in the neighbor hood as it burns the right leg. 6 ) Light brightness seems to be less compared to other bikes. 7 ) For the 150cc bike Hero need to provide some performance parts to improve the bottom end power as bike lovers will not worry on mileage, but pure fun. 8 ) Back wheel wobbling when changing gears. Looks like a manufacturing fault. Hero company has to come out with a solution as the bike height is more accuracy of bearings etc.
I own a Santro Xing XP 2007 model. The mileage until 2011 was 13 kmpl in cities and 15 kmpl in highways. But now, it has dropped to 10 kmpl and 12.5 kmpl respectively. The car is sent for service regularly. Any methods of improving the mileage other than the driving style?
Dear All, I am planning to a Diesel Powered 3 Box Sedan in the price category of equal or less than Rs.10.5 Lakhs. For me initial investment is not a major concern whereas yes i am concerned about the recurring cost for the car. I have shortlisted some options such as Toyota Etios VXD (SP) / Skoda Rapid Elegance TDI / Volkswagon Vento HL / Honda Amaze Top End Diesel Version. 1. Though, Etios looks to be VFM; but i am concerned about the Safety Aspect in this car as the steel used is apparently very light; if one kneels on the door, it tends to bent and i am also worried since the vehicle will be driven in Delhi NCR, some touch here and there between vehicles are bound to happen day in and day out, so will etios bear this. 2. Secondly, i am just thinking as to in case i want to spend around Rs.9 lacs worth of my hard earned money, will spending in etios be justified as the vehicle does not looks to be classy vis a vis other cars i mentioned above. 3. Also, why did toyota even after relaunching etios have failed to provide speakers in the rear of the car (though they have put four speakers that too all in front), automatic / electrical adjustment of ORVMs, no arm rest with driver or with rear sitting passengers. 4. How good is 68 ps of etios power vis a vis 100 ps of honda amaze / 105 ps of vento and rapid. What difference would it make to day to day driving. Will the car loose power in case of full occupancy of passengers or on hills. 5. While making the decision to buy, is it the right time to buy a car or should i wait for Seotember offers or Navratra - Diwali Offers. On the other hand, the positive aspects of Toyota Etios which i found was low maintainence cost vehicle, low initial investment, good engine life, easy and comfortable spacing, easy to drive, low on noise, smooth drive. I would request my fellow forum members to please reply asap, as i want to decide in a day or two.
