  2. Volkswagen is readying another update to its ageing Polo and Vento range in the Indian market. This time, the refreshed Polo will not get just cosmetic tweaks, but will also see mechanical changes. A new set of images surfaced online give us the best look at the upcoming Polo and Vento. First up, the updated cars get new front styling which is quite similar to the high-performance limited edition Volkswagen GTI hatchback. Additionally, both cars get alloy wheels with grey finish and other minor cosmetic tweaks inside out. Under the hood, the TSI variants of the Polo and Vento will get a new BS-VI compliant 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit replacing the 1.2-litre motor and also the 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine. The new VW 1.0-litre TSI motor is from the EA211 series and is likely to come with a 94hp as well as a 115hp version, depending on the model. Apart from the Polo and Vento, this new engine will also see duty on the Skoda Rapid in future. This new engine will be locally assembled in India as part of the brand’s India 2.0 strategy that also includes market introduction of future models like the Volkswagen T-Cross SUV and the Virtus sedan. While the made-for India SUVs from VW Group India (T-Cross and Skoda Kamiq) will use the 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine, the smaller 1.0-litre TSI motor will power the Volkswagen Virtus sedan that will come a little later to replace the Vento. What are your opinions on the Volkswagen Polo/ Vento update?
  3. Hi, I recently bought a VW Polo 1.2 MPI Highline plus. According to the brochure my model should have and infotainment system with App connect ( for apple carplay, android auto ). But i soon realised that my car does not have app connect and I have to pay 28000 extra. No where in the brochure was it mentioned that the feature is optional. In fact its still like that on website. And I was not even informed about this additional cost or the fact that its an optional accessory by the sales guy at dealership. I felt that I have been fooled. This is not expected from one of the world's largest car manufacturers. It clearly sends out the message that VW does not take its Indian customers seriously. I now cannot trust the brand and will have to double check everything before making any payments. Its sad as they make great cars and don't compromise on quality and safety. Wish they would be more transparent and not cheat there customers like this. I would request Autocar to publish this complaint in their magzines so that all the VW polo buyers and owners become aware of whats going on. I have also attached their current specifications page on their website.
  4. Hello all, Advice required to upgrade my head unit on my 2012 VW Polo. I require something that complements the aesthetics of the dash. Budget- 12k Requirement: BT phone capability with A2DP, USB and AUX. Researched a bit and came across a brand called Worldtech available on Olx and ebay. There is one year warranty on the product.
  6. For those who have'nt had a look at my previous thread please do its called TO WAIT OR NOT TO where i had a dillema whether to wait for my ecosport or just get another car i had booked an ecosport on 25th june 2013 with delivery being promised in august. On august 10 i decide to call my dealer about my car and his reply was negaitive.Ok waiting another month was not going to hurt me then in september i recive an email stating that my model will be delayed by a couple of months and that the price has been incresed by 50000k!!!.That was the last straw when to the showroom got the booking cancelled and started my search again now the cars remaining were i20,amaze and polo. went to volkswagen showroom and had a look at the polo(1.6 tdi)and right next to it was a vento.Spoke to the SA and the price difference was about 1L. booked the car and left the place happy.3 weeks later i got a call saying that my car has arrived and i can take delivery within a week it was fine by me but i had to check the car or atleast the 13 calls i got my decoded it and found the car to manufactered in june 2013!.Called the dealer up asked him when the car was made to which he replied october a differnce of 4 months i asked him to decode it and call back which he never did.waited for a week still no response went and met the head of the showroom.he said that he wasnt even aware of my booking and that that was the only vento they had.So there goes the second booking.Cars left amaze and i20. Amaze was out cause it was bland for 9L.So went to DSC motors booked the i20 asta maharaja red they quoted a waiting peroid of 3 weeks and as promised the car was delivered to me on the 15th of november.I've only driven the car for 30 kms so cant really comment on anything except the quality, its very good and so is the feature list. thank you for reading and here are some pics will upload more soon

  8. Guys, I'm amid one of the biggest dilemmas in my life. I'm unable to decide between Polo GT TSI and the Polo GT TDI. Here are my struggling thoughts: Had a Test drive on the GT TSI and the auto DSG gearbox is absolutely delightful and fun to drive, but worried about the sub-par 12-13 city petrol consumption ! Had a Test drive on the regular Polo 1.2 diesel (not the GT TDI) and while the engine is decent, I didn't quite feel it amazing when compared to GT TSI. (Even the I20 1.4 diesel felt much smoother). Now my question is will the GT TDI, with it's much advanced 1.6 diesel engine (the one in the Vento 1.6 diesel model), be significantly better than the 1.2 diesel variant and comparable to the GT TSI's performance and fun? If Yes, then I can stick to GT TDI, as I'm a bit concerned about the fuel efficiency as well. If No, then TSI is the one for me. If anyone has driving experience on the Vento or Polo in general, please help me to decide !
  9. Here are pictures of a diesel Polo testing which is essentially the GT TDI. It is said to becoming with a 1.5 litre diesel motor. The interior shots reveal that it will indeed be a manual transmission that the car will be equipped with. Hopefully the launch is happening soon but the pricing will be important Source: Team BHP
  10. I bought VW polo 3 years back and since then I have been complaining about the driver side window getting stuck sometimes when I drive on highway. Its a very major security threat as the window gets jammed and this could happen at some critical moment. Although it used to give me a pain only when I had to give toll money and the window wont go down. Till date, the issue has not even been identified by VW noida people where they always say "Sir, it hasnt occured in front of us". I dont think this is supposed to occur when I want but very randomly. Anyways defeating this problem cam another problem that tore my trust and confidence on the car when yesterday, after reaching my home, I opened the car with ignition ON, and went to open the gate of my home and came back see that the car is locked from inside. This car doesnt have any central locking mechanism and can be locked only from inside. Another thing, I dont think there is any car in the world that would get locked from inside with ignition ON. To the agony the VW support asked me to break the window as the only solution. I told them that I am not a professional and thus might end up breaking some other parts of the gate while breaking the glass and thus would require some professional help. They clearly said no to that. I had to then call some other roadside assistance who helped me break the glass and get the car open. The problem is not only faulty parts in the car but also the risk involved. I tried talking about this to the VW care but looking at the response I got, I would like to bring this to notice of higher officials who can help me get this issue rectified. In case this is a generic issue in VW polo then they should recall the cars and get the issue fixed. Viewers of this site and VW lovers (including me), please be notified of this concern as this might happen to you as well. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD IN THE CAR ASSUMING THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT GET LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY.
  11. hey.. i am driving vw polo petrol trendline. i bought it in sept 2012. i have been driving it only 3500km till now and assume 4000km till my first service. vw says it should be serviced 15000km or 1 year. so is it really a worth serving my vehicle as the running is very less. please suugest me the best.
  12. VW has introduced the Polo R WRC; Manual Transmission is the icing This Polo is powered by a 2.0 liter TSI four-cylinder turbocharged engine, the same one found under the hood of the Golf GTI too. This is the fastest VW Polo ever with the specs as follows; Power : 217 HP Torque : 350 NM 0-62 mph : 6.4 secs Top Speed : 151 mph VW has also throw in 18-inch Cagliari alloy-wheels, standard bi-xenon headlights, sport seats with WRC logos, cruise control, light and rain sensor, winter package, climate control and radio navigation unit, among others. Production Limited to 2500 units Source: http://www.carscoops...polo-r-wrc.html
  13. Hot on the heels of the Polo Tsi GT launch, VW is now testing the GT TDI. And here are the spy shots. Caught by an enthusiast, the test mule of the Polo is seen wearing the GT and TDI badges. At the front, the grille was said to be similar to what we have seen on the Polo GT TSI. Even the alloys are similar to the GT TSI. Sagar also confirms that the car had black interiors. The car was being run alongside a Vento and a Rapid. That could hint that the Polo GT TDI could use the same 1.6-litre TDI engine that powers the Vento and the Rapid. Interestingly though, we are told by people in the know that Volkswagen is also busy testing a new 1.5-litre TDI engine that could replace the 1.6-litre powerplant across the lineup. The 1.5-litre mill is said to be more fuel efficient than its slightly larger counterpart and because it qualifies for the tax-cut, it could also be a more viable choice for the Polo GT TDI, the Vento, the Rapid and also the upcoming Up! and Citigo city cars. 14. So finally Volkswagen has finally confirmed that they will introduce a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder diesel engine in the Polo but dont rejoice just yet. This will happen not before 2014. Two years to go. What do you think this car will be priced at? Pricing is definitely going to be crucial for this version of the Polo to succeed. Opinions?
