The Volkswagen Viloran, a minivan for the Chinese market has been unveiled. It is the first luxury minivan by Volkswagen for the Chinese market which is slated to launch later this year. It uses a 220hp, 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine and measures 5.3 metres in length. It also has a seven-seat layout. What do you guys think of this minivan? IMAGE SOURCE

Volkswagen is readying another update to its ageing Polo and Vento range in the Indian market. This time, the refreshed Polo will not get just cosmetic tweaks, but will also see mechanical changes. A new set of images surfaced online give us the best look at the upcoming Polo and Vento. First up, the updated cars get new front styling which is quite similar to the high-performance limited edition Volkswagen GTI hatchback. Additionally, both cars get alloy wheels with grey finish and other minor cosmetic tweaks inside out. Under the hood, the TSI variants of the Polo and Vento will get a new BS-VI compliant 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit replacing the 1.2-litre motor and also the 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine. The new VW 1.0-litre TSI motor is from the EA211 series and is likely to come with a 94hp as well as a 115hp version, depending on the model. Apart from the Polo and Vento, this new engine will also see duty on the Skoda Rapid in future. This new engine will be locally assembled in India as part of the brand’s India 2.0 strategy that also includes market introduction of future models like the Volkswagen T-Cross SUV and the Virtus sedan. While the made-for India SUVs from VW Group India (T-Cross and Skoda Kamiq) will use the 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine, the smaller 1.0-litre TSI motor will power the Volkswagen Virtus sedan that will come a little later to replace the Vento.
